We shoot for 1 but usually get it on the table and start eating around 2.

This year we'll be at WDW so it'll be weird not doing the shopping and cooking--and no leftovers! :sad1: We'll have to console ourselves with a visit to Epcot that day. ;)

We don't have a set time to eat. It's usually between 3:00 and 4:00.

When my MIL was alive and everyone gathered at her house for Thanksgiving we'd shoot for 2:00 pm but we were thrilled if we had everything together by 2:30. We were cooking for 27 people and some items turn out better prepared on the day it is being served.

Now that it's just the two of us we eat around 2:00 or whenever we're hungry.

I voted for 4:00, but it can be an hour or two either side of that depending on just about anything. There's no set time for us.

We aim for 5:00ish but usally it is 6:00.

For all you early birds what time do you start cooking?:scared1: I start at 9:00am with tons of prep the night before. I work full time so I'm also cleaning too.

We eat at 1:00. I do as much prep work as possible the day before. That includes washing the bird, all chopping and dicing(put in baggies and labled for each dish), getting all serving pieces out and ready to use, washing the turkey dishes (yes I have a set of dishes we only use that weekend) and making sure the tablecloth and napkins are ready.

In the morning, the bird goes in the oven at 8:00. I finish putting the stuffing together (I make 2 or 3 kinds) and put in the frig to bake later. I peel the potatoes, mash them and put in a crookpot on low. The rest of the morning flies by, 3DDs and families arrrive with their goodies. Lots of laughing and talking as the final touches are done. Hopefully, we sit down by 1:00. :)

The friend I usually spend Thanksgiving with usually has dinner ready right around the start of the second football game of the day.

I use to do all of the prep the day before except for the potatoes which I peeled on the morning of (they taste better) Thanksgiving.

What made things a little more difficult was having to prepare two of the same dishes because my MIL could not have salt in her food. I was very lucky to have help with both the prep and the cooking. My dh peeled about 12 pounds of potatoes every holiday and cooked a turkey the day before (no salt added) so I could make the gravy the night before.

DH goes to his sister's house for the ball game, I think around 1:00 or so.

I have a veggie tray made up for DD's x3, DSil, and me to snack on from 1-4:00.

Dinner is ready at 4 when DH comes back from the game.

We used to eat at DH's sister's, but the crowd of 75 or so people :scared1: was unbearable for me so we started our own dinner at home. So-o-o- much nicer and enjoyable!!

3 is usually a good guess for when we eat. I'm not a big planner.
