Thanksgiving at bcv

We're planning to visit wdw the saturday before thanksgiving and leave the saturday after thanksgiving.

I've read that crowds are pretty small at the beginning of the week (up to wednesday.) I've also read that wed-friday are crazy at the parks.

Would the pool area be any better?....if we went to the parks the early part of the week, and then hung out at stormalong the latter part of the week? or will that be mobbed too??

Where can I get info about thanksgiving meals?

We just spend our first Thanksgiving at WDW and loved it. We arrived Saturday before and the parks were not bad at all. Thanksgiving day we only went to the park (Magic Kingdom) around 5pm mostly for 8pm dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (turkey, stuffing, gravy, ham, potatoes, etc...) but we did do a few rides and yes there was wait. My son worked that day at MGM and said it wasn't the busiest day he's seen, he thinks the day after (Friday) is more popular the Friday after.

We left early Friday for a three day crusie, returned for Monday & Tuesday at the parks and there was nobody there. My son heard from his friends that the weekend after Thanksgiving this year was really slow.

They also had some decorations up and the Monday after the Osborne Lights were up and EPCOT had their Holiday Fireworks. They also had so of the MVMCP dates in November this year.

If you've never seen the Christmas Happenings at WDW then I would suggest extended your trip for a few days after the holiday weekend if at all possible not only do you get to see some beautiful decorations, lights and fireworks but flying is also much cheaper.

I have been at BCV the last 3 years at that same time as you are planning.
While you are correct in therory, the variable is going to be the weather.
I've had a week in the 70's and a week in the low 60's, last year we had a day when the high for the day was 58. Mornings and evenings will always be cool if not darn right cold, we had a 28 degree morning one year.
You'll just have to plan your days depending on the weather, rainy days are great days for the parks as it keeps the crowds down, get some ponchos and you'll have a great time.

We've decided to move to early Nov to avoid the crowds and hopefully the cool weather.

We have two contracts and one is a 70pt OKW resale I got from our sponsor. We had been banking every other year and blowing them all on a 1br at OKW every other Thanksgiving since '01 which the crowds were way down due to 9/11. Since though they have grown quite a bit and I think we've decided to use those points at other times of the year. But with a little bit of planning (especially PS for meals) it can be quite enjoyable and seeing WDW decorated is wonderful. I especially enjoyed staying at VWL one year, it's my favorite at Christmas. I would probably not plan on going to MK that Thursday though unless you park hop and just go there with an open mind and an escape plan to try another park if it's unbearable.

That's the beauty of Disney now over when I wa a kid. If you don't want to be in the park, try the pool, DD shopping, food, mini golf, Jelly Rolls, etc etc etc. We haven't lately but we used to "sneak" up to City Walk a lot for Margaritaville or Hard Rock.

Sure. We went on a surprise trip with the kids last January and they went swimming even. Its just luck of the draw in Florida. All the pools are heated though.

It was warm the day we got there(Sunday before) and plenty of people in the pool at SSR. Then it got cold, not a big crowd for Illuminations at Epcot on Monday and Tuesday night at MK we walked on a couple of rides. Guess what there were people in the pools those days too.
