THANKSGIVING 2008- Whos going and where are you eating?

We are doing lunch at Le Cellier for 1:00 and dinner at Biergarten for 8:30. The CM I talked to said Beirgarten would have traditional Thanksgiving fare along with the standard buffet. Just in case we are doing LTT the night before.

I think we're gonna do Donald's Safari B-fast @ Tusker House in AK Thanksgiving morning and maybe a CS meal @ Flame-Tree BBQ for a late lunch / early dinner. We are gonna wait & do our traditional Thanksgiving Dinner the day after TG @ LTT. That way maybe we can avoid the crazy packed out MK on the actual day.

We tried for LTT and could get in together unless we split our party into 3 different tables (which we didn't want to do) for Thanksgiving Day! LTT must be the most popular place for Thanksgiving Dinner! So, we will be at Chef Mickeys with several of you all! We also booked for Ohana, WCC, Coral Reef, 50's Primetime, Kona Cafe, Norway Breakfast, and Crystal Palace! I am so excited!!

Even though I called yesterday and only got LTT at 4:30 myself on Thanksgiving day. I guess I should feel lucky to have gotten that? Or should I try again later to see if things change?

I called a couple of days ago and got LTT for our family of 5 at 4:15. It seems so early. I'm kind of hoping that when the official hours are released, Disney may add more dining hours and I will be able to make my dinner later. We are heading to CM for breakfast before heading to the MK. I made a couple of other reservations, but I guess I should finish them asap so we get what we want.

Ok, I was on the phone at 5:59 am, and off by 6:09! I had a very efficient and knowledgeable CM, (Or maybe I was the efficient one with my Disboard info), I got all my dining choices, (not times) although, was unable to get the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose, but the CM said there was only one 30 minute ADR window for Fantasmic packages at this time. Could it possibly be because the Nov hours haven't been released? Hmmm.... Anyhow, here they are;

Nov 24th Epcot Day; Le Cellier 4:25 (Wanted 5:15, but this was only table for 8 they had)

Nov 25th DHS Day; Mama Melrose 5:10 (Again wanted Fantasmic, but will call back when hours released)

Nov 26th MK Day; Whispering Canyon 4:55 (wanted 5:30, either 4:55, or 6:25 were open.) Hoping to get back to MK for 1st Parade, so took 4:55

Thanksgiving! Breakfast at Chef Mickey's 9:30, and dinner at the Biergarten 5:05 (no compromising here, exactly what I wanted!)

I am so thankful I am finished, but hoping the hours don't mess too much up. Good day to all..........

We will be there for Thanksgiving too. I just booked today since we check in on 11/23. Today is 180 days out. The CM tried telling me I had to call back tomorrow. I had her check and I was right. I got everything we wanted!:thumbsup2

Any takers on Roasting a turkey on a grill at Wilderness Lodge?

We have a reservation at Chef Mickey for dinner, but my husband thinks this would be more fun. Is he crazy?

We, party of 8, are thinking of Biergarten for Thanksgiving. Our ADR date isn't until Tuesday. Also, thinking of Chef Mickey's, or Akershus for breakfast. Any opinions?

We did Thanksgiving at Biergarten last year and loved it. They had part of the buffet set up with the normal German food and the other part with traditional Thanksgiving food. Every one was happy.

If my hubby had his way, we would be all in! :) Thank goodness I make the ressies in our house! We wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, but we ended up at OKW. If the pints of beer at Biergarten aren't persuasion enough for my hubby, you might just see us after all. Good luck!!

We are having lunch/dinner at Whispering Canyon. Our group is 16 people for a grand gathering. I was told they will only take groups this large between the first 15 and last 15 minutes of service. I guess we're eating early!!

Wow 16 people is cool!! Gathering!! Have fun!

We'll be at the World during Thanksgiving week. We're currently planning on being at AK for T'giving (although that could change when the November hours finally come out) and having dinner at Boma.

Anyone interested in grilling a Turkey by the Pool?
This is what my husband wants to do. Am I crazy to give in?

Our second choice for dinner was to deep fry a turkey at our campsite at Fort Wilderness. We decided against this just because we're planning on being at a park that day and didn't want to have to rush back to cook.

I was able to get most of my ADR within 30min. I think I'm done I really hope to be able to get Fantasmic added when the Nov hours are released.

O'hana's is great isn't it. I ate here last Thanksgiving Day, but almost didn't. I tried to book a seat for Thanksgiving Day and disney dining told me they were booked. So I bypassed Disney Dining and got a seat anyway. How did I do that you may ask. Well it's good to have a friend that works there. He just asked the chef to get me in since I'm a regular local guest. This year I'm gonna try Disney Dining again, I can't book until Saturday for it though. I don't want to have to ask my friend to get me a seat again and bother him, but if I have to I have to. I just waited to long to call about my booking for that day, as I didn't know what time I had to work that day. Because my shifts at work were changing from nights to mornings and back again. But this year I don't have that problem. I can't wait. May eat there before Thanksgiving if I get some out of town guests in to visit me.

Whenever we are there for Thanksgiving, we do O'hana.
We love that place!

I sure wish I knew someone who worked there.;) Cool:cool1:

I'll be there! I booked my ADRs yesterday afternoon (I was at work and couldn't call in the morning!) and I was so afraid I wouldn't get what I wanted. But I did! :cool1:

Sunday 11/23 - Maya Grill 6pm

Monday 11/24 - Les Chefs de France 5:20pm

Tuesday 11/25 - Le Cellier - 7:50pm

Wednesday 11/26 - Boma - 5:25pm

Thursday Thanksgiving Day! 11/27 - 'Ohana

I heard good things about 'Ohana, but I'm still unsure. I even considered going offsite to eat Turkey Day Dinner and saving the TS credit for Friday.

Those of you who have been to 'Ohana for Thanksgiving...can you describe what kind of food they served? Was it their traditional menu, with holiday dishes mixed in? Or is it a complete Turkey dinner?

Made my ressies this am and got everything I wanted plus all the right times!!(Within 15 min. or so)

We're doing T-day at WCC, at 6:30. I hope the wait is not too awful but if it is, I'm still eating at Disney!!
