Fall 2026 itineraries

You mean they released more concierge rooms at lower rates? I booked during the Platinum opening window and didn’t want to pay 2x for slightly more convenience…wonder if we should go back and look again.

The sailing we booked, concierge was close to 4x the cost of non-concierge verandah rooms.

We booked online with our placeholder for a 4-night Baja cruise on the Magic. I kept getting an error page, so finally had to open an incognito window and start over to get it to work.

Not the most exciting itinerary (Catalina Island, Ensenada), but we will be able to drive to the port, enjoy Halloween on the High Seas for first time, and it will be our first voyage on the Magic. Fingers crossed that the dates actually match up with my kiddos fall break next year.

This is my third attempt to wait on hold to move my cruise from 2026 to the 2027 5 night Fantasy triple dip (2 days at Castaway and 1 day at Lighthouse). Two times the automated voice said my wait time was 5 minutes but I was on hold for an hour each time before I had to hang up. Hopefully third time is the charm but the automated voice said my wait time is over 12 hours! :rotfl2:

For some reason I am not able to modify my reservation on line. Well silver lining is I have heard all the songs loaded in the hold music several times now. Ugh!

Fingers crossed for you! I love that the hold music has Fortuosity in rotation which is one of the more underrated Sherman Brother songs that is almost completely forgotten (except on the DCL hold music)

Oddly enough, I have heard that song at least a dozen times over the last few days on Sirrius XM 133, which is the Disney station. I thought the same. Hadn't heard it in years and all of a sudden it shows up umpteen times on the radio.

In my sadness over not getting the 2027 Eastbound PC cruise, I googled a bit and saw that Princess Cruise Line has lots of Panama Canal cruises. Does anyone have input on them as an alternative?

I called an hour before the phone lines closed on Tuesday to modify my cruise (I couldn't even get the page that shows the itinerary breakdown) and only waited 5 minutes.

I don't have a problem with the music but the new advertisements breaking into the hold music are awful.

I would check back frequently for the next couple days around midnight. Platinums could put a free hold all sailings for for about 72 hours that expired at the end of the day, so it’s possible at least a few slots will come open soon.

We didn't do a PC cruise with Princess, but attempted an Alaskan cruise with them in 2023. While checking on a quick trip to Alcatraz, all I could find on the bus ride to the pier was that the Ruby Princess had hit the dock and sustained damage. (yup, our ship) By the time we arrived at the pier, the whole bus from the airport was upset and yes, there was a nice hole in the hull of the ship. For a 10-day cruise, we ended up with about 6-7 days because the Coast Guard insisted that Princess repair the damage (thank God) prior to our sailing! We hoped for a great trip anyway but boy, were we disappointed. We did not get to Glacier Bay, only Ketchikan, and Prince Rupert Island in Canada which was in no way ready for a cruise ship to dock.

Needless to say, none of my family will sail Princess again. We are now planning for the longest trip we can in the Med and with the Greek Isles, in 2027. Our boys, some married, need time to save leave, plan trades for days off, and save their pennies for a trip like this! Thus far, we have 20 planning for this and by that time, we might have a grandchild or two to add in there!

I should have included, in reference to Princess, that my elderly aunt wanted to give Princess one more shot and since we had a 50% discount on a future cruise as compensation for the debacle that was the Alaskan cruise, she wanted to do an eastern Canadian cruise for 10-days. I went with her since she cannot travel alone. Unfortunately, this cruise also was less than stellar. It firmly convinced me not to try Princess ever again (the rest of my family got a great chuckle out of my travels there because they continuously warned me of the folly of such a trip ...), and after this, I was fortunately able to convince my aunt to at least give cruising one more try but this time, with Disney. We leave in late October for a Southern Caribbean cruise. I hope she enjoys it as much as I know WE will!

We are Platinum on DCL & Elite on Princess, Princess is a very good product with very good itineraries but without the Disney razz-ma-tazz. We did the Panama Canal on the DCL Wonder back in 2013 through the historic old locks just before their 100th anniversary; was one of our favorite cruises with stops at CC, Cartagena,& three stops in Mexico. If we did the full transit today, we wouldn't go with DCL since, due to their size, they have to use the boring new locks. The Coral Princess is still small enough to use the old locks--wouldn't hesitate to take that cruise.

Princess has some great itineraries especially in Europe and Japan. I have some neighbors that are the highest level on them and love them. I like the fact that they have laundry rooms onboard. The only reason I haven't tried them is because I cruise with a young adult and I've heard the demographics skews older. Maybe I'm wrong on that?

What makes the new locks boring?

We have twice booked Princess for a partial crossing of the PC, and we enjoyed both of them. We especially enjoyed tendering lake Gaton and going on an excursion to the former US Panama Canal Zone with Princess.

We have done the old locks on the Wonder in 2024, and we are going on the Magic in 2027.
