Mighty proper of anyone to give, each to his own ability. as stated before, many companies give in many ways, they all don't have quite the publicity ballyhoo WM (& some others) does. Isn't it a bit like the widow who gives her last coins to charity as opposed to the wealthy man who gives so much more???Free4Life11 said:It's nothing against, you I just don't like when the CEO's of these companies get all the credit. The COMPANY is doing good, not just the people at the top who always get all the credit. If they want credit they can donate some of the billions and billions they have, then I'll give them a pat on the back.
anywhooo,
Walmart plans to take land for a road widening from the longtime home(for 30 yrs; built in 1804 by the Prez's father, Rev War Hero, rags-to-riches, Benj Pierce) of the 14th President of the US & they are getting it so far. Somehow the Historical Society has been shut out of meetings with WM & NHDOT. WM has a lot of cash they spend on crushing folks, also.
We are not against the WM coming to town, we are incensed they feel they have a right to degrade land we open to schools & visitors from all over the USA & the world run as a non-profit. We have spent 30 yrs restoring the Pierce Homestead & WM has been given permission by the notoriously mismanaged NHDOT to run a road hard by the garden & take land from Gen John McNeil's beautiful grounds (War of 1812; house has original unretouched stencilling)
Let's see them publisize that! And it is not just New Hampshire heritage, but American heritage standing in the way of expediency & profit of the few!
Jean
