Thank You "Disney Angel in Disguise," Upgrade For Nate and His Family!!!

What an incredible story! The kindness of DISers never ceases to amaze me! I am truly blessed to be a member of this family.

Christina,

I hope that Nate and your entire family has a truly MAGICAL cruise! May God richly bless you all.

Elisabeth

I have been off-line for three weeks while in the process of moving. Of course, the first site that I visited, once reconnected, was my beloved Dis Boards. Well, I haven't stopped sobbing and I posess an overwhelming need to contribute somehow. I am a Massage Therapist a half hour away from the Port. If the Page family would accept, I would love to offer complementary pre or post cruise massages to their very deserving family. PM me if interested.
Thank you, thank you DAID. Your generosity will be rewarded tenfold.

With Affection,
Dawn Hope

Nate and family, you will have a magical time (you already know that!), and all the more so because you'll be sailing on seas of love the whole way :D DAID, what a wonderful gift, and the catalyst for even more!

. I really want people to know though that they do not grant to all kids with terminal illnesses (infact it is not even required that the child be terminal for them to grant a wish). There are other groups that pick these families up, dust them off and give them a wish. MAW is the big name in wish granting and so I knew if I said my son was on a wish trip people would assume it was MAW and I wanted to make sure the credit went to the right place.

Most of the wish organizations grant wishes to children who are terminal or have Life Threatening illnesses. Most kids that have Leukemia will not die, some will, some won't but they go through 3 whole years of Chemo and other hell and they will have wishes granted by various organizations as well as terminal kids. Wish Is Granted is one of the places that gave Matt a wish, they gave him a laptop when he was 13. Make a Wish gave him a Big Red Boat cruise and Disney vacation for his mom sister and me when he was 4 along with $1,000 spending money, a rented van and a limo to and from the airport, it was an amazing trip they gave us. They would not grant him a wish porior to being 4 since he had to be able to verbalize exactly what wish he wanted.

I am sitting here repeating in my mind ( with goosebumps on my arm) the affirmation that our pastor uses at church,

God is good,
All the time,
All the Time,
God is good.

There are no exceptions.

I guess it really doesn't matter if one(or more) person paid for the upgrade, or if Disney did it, it is done and

Praise God.

I ams sure the Page family will have the vacation of a lifetime and memories to last as long.

Andy, thanks so much for getting the ball rolling. You are truly a special person (and deserved more of an upgrade than you got!)

DAID - Thank you.

I've been following this story since the beginning - and every time I try to post - I can't, because my emotions brim over and I can't seem to find the words to express what I'm feeling.

I wish the Page family a wonderful and joyous vacation. Their story has truly touched so many of us - and introduced us to a most deserving organization that we may have not known about had they not opened up their private lives in such a public arena.

And, to the "Disney Angel" - what a wonderful gesture of kindness in a world where it is often so hard to find.

God's gentle hand does guide us even when we forget he's near.

To the Page family - have the most magical cruise ever, you all so deserve it.
To the D.A.I.D. thank you for reaffirming my belief in the good in this world.
I am sitting here in floods of tears.
Wendy

I've been reading these threads today at work and haven't been able to reply-can't see the keyboard through the tears.

To the Disney Angel in Disguise- You are an amazing person and to you the rewards will be great. To be able to bring such joy to people is an amazing gift. To do it with bringing attention to yourself is noble indeed. You are a hero in a time when we all need hero's.

Andy- You are also a very special person. I can hardly wait the honor of meeting you. You are a facilitator of good. To the good- good things will come.

Without both of you the world would be a sad place.

To the Page family- I wish you a wonderful vacation. Enjoy and bask in the love of all the people who pray for you

.........but in the end all I would have said is all I really can say and that is simply...and sincerely...thank you. This is something we will remember for the rest of our lives. I don't just mean the verandah either. Of course that is awesome, but what I will always remember is the family we have gained on this site. You have all enriched our lives.

All Love,
Chrsitina

A thank you says it so well, Chrsitina. You have been here on the DIS a short week or so. You have seen and experienced the essence of the DIS...F A M I L Y. The folks on the DIS are really a family...laugh, support, cry, argue, praise, vent, beam with pride, look for help, born, live, die........all as a family does. You have seen and you will see, when you return from the Page cruise. It is a wonderful little place here on the Net. Folks like Andy, and so many others like him, make it what it is, FAMILY.

Please, all of you, Christina, along with Nate, enjoy your trip (I guess I need to say cruise, not trip, over here on this board, LOL. ), a special one it will be. Enjoy that verandah, enjoy each other, enjoy it all. God bless you and your family, and also that DIS angel that hangs around here, good angel he/she is.

My best with a {hug},

Dan :sunny:

Ever since the Page Family were upgraded to their verandah stateroom, Nate's dad has been calling Nate "Verandah Boy" I guess you knew that, "Verandah Man" had to come up with a shirt, for his "Little Buddy" to wear on his cruise.

That is wonderful, I love it! I hope Nate and his family have the best cruise ever!

I love the shirt!!!

I'm with so many of you, Everytime I want to reply, it seems like I can not even put a thought together with the tears and the huge lump in my throat.

Again, thanks to The Disney Angel, Wishing Well, Verandah Man and anyone else whose effort made this happen.

To the Page family, thank you for sharing your touching story and for letting us be a part of it whether its our prayers, donations, or what ever. We are blessed that you let complete strangers into your lives.

I know it has been said a hundred times, but you have truly touched us.

Thanks, Lorie

Wow - I am offline back to work for less than a week and look what I missed! Chris - your story has touched me deeply. Please enjoy your vacation and give Nate a kiss from all of us DISers! Disney AID: Thank you for making the upgrade happen! You are a blessing!

Andy : I love you! You make this board wonderful and you have helped so many people on here. YOU deserve your cruise coming up in a couple of weeks! Have a ball and eat all the shrimp you want!

I feel that I missed the boat on this one - getting in so late in the game - but if there is anything or anyway I can help - please let me know!

Angie

Nice job on the shirt, Andy. You continue to outdo yourself. Maybe when you're back from your cruise you can open a business. How does "Verandahs' R Us" sound?

Nate is going to look super cool in that shirt.

Andy ~

What a dear heart you are! The shirt is absolutely perfect!!
Can't you see your little buddy now in his aqua 'Verandah Boy' t-shirt ~ sitting on his verandah, smiling, w/the wind blowing thru his hair. God bless all these kind hearts and loving souls. ^i^

Thats cute

Yes, I e-mailed the photo to them this morning, and they loved it. Eric (Nate's dad), told me they are going to get a picture of Nate with this shirt on, sitting on the verandah, with the wind blowing through his hair. Don't worry, that's one photo that will be posted here as well!!!
