The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

I was there in January and the studio I was in did not have a smart tv and I had to watch cable all week. Do any of the rooms here have the new smart tvs with the casting?
Yes they have been in the rooms for quite some time. Perhaps something happened to the TV in your room and they had to make the swap. BTW cable is better than Oswald ears and having to fight between which sibling will turn the dial to a different channel!! :)

I'm currently staying in a one bedroom, post cruise for a short night (very early flight). I was booked at Beach club, but the Poly was so busy and chaotic during my precruise stay, that I switched resorts just 5 nights prior. I had the choice of Boardwalk view or resort view. As you can see, I took the boardwalk view. After staying in a Poly studio followed by a few nights in a cruise ship cabin, I knew the one bedroom at Boardwalk would seem like a Palace and it does.

We ate at the Italian restaurant and I got some treats from the Cake bake place. We're both super exhausted and have taken turns being sick. This is a great place to spend the day resting/recuperating. Rut Roh. I wish I bought here instead of the Poly.

There is something magical about Boardwalk. I swore I would never buy a 2042, but that place just gave me the feels and I had to buy. Enjoy the view and I hope you both get to feeling better soon.

This is gold. Agree with both of your comments.

That "Boardwalk feeling" is special and that is why we bought at BWV despite the 2042 expiration.
(And we knew that BWV would not be as insanely crowded as Poly).

We wrapped up a week long stay last week and enjoyed it for the most part. Two issues we ran into though that were frustrating.

1) Toaster would reset every outlet in the studio we were in. We asked for a new one and assumed it had been replaced while we were at the parks as the first time we used it it was fine but then it started happening again. Finally filled out the form in the welcome email and got a voicemail from the general manager saying a new ticket had been put in and the toaster was replaced again. This one worked fine, so I suspect the first request was ignored.

2) Every other DVC laundry room I am aware of uas 2x as many dryers as washers. BWV just has 3 each. We put ours in the washer while no other washers were being used and only 1 dryer was being used. Somehow when we came back to swap it over (and we were there when it finished) all 3 dryers had just been started. So, what to do with wet clothes and 60 minutes until you can use the dryer? I went back to the room and got 2 plastic shopping bags and we took it to the laundry room on the other side and paid to dry it.

Now, here is my question. Why does the DVC laundry room 1) only have 3 dryers and 2) why does the DVC laundry room, which is free to use, not have magicband tap in that could limit its use whereas the very nice paid laundry room on the other side does have magicband tap access?

I wish WDW DVC laundry rooms would go to the grand cal model. You have to pay to use them using the CSC app. Once you are done you call the front desk and they credit your room the amount you charged. When you checkout you get a credit applied to your credit card on file.

I got hooked the moment Boardwalk opened - I'd been waiting for an Epcot resort in general so when I heard about the DVC Boardwalk, I knew it was mine. Walked out the International Gateway, hopped the tram over to Boardwalk (yes, there was actually a tram back then!), did the tour, sat with the agent, and purchased that day, in 1996.

VDH is the same as VGC except I was able to get a card from the person at the DVC desk in the lobby there.

I would rather it just be locked via magic band and not have to fool with it at all.
I knew BWV laundry was unlocked as we have left items such as coffee and cokes in there that we wouldn't be able to take home with us but it is crazy that the inn side is locked and then you have to pay for it.

In my experience it has not the case that most have double the dryers then washers.
OKW (near HH) and HHI have 2 of each although Kidani and PVB had more machines.

My memory was double, but perhaps it is just "more". At any rate whoever was drying did not also wash in that room so it was beyond frustrating. But it made us realize we want to use our points for 1 bedrooms at WDW, which is why we bought as many as we did anyway.

VGC said they used to do it like VDH (get a card from the front desk) but that they recently went away from that. Will be curious if VDH changed as well.

We bought BWV in 1996! Still our favorite after all this time. Really happy when we hear of people loving it even in its twilight! You cannot beat the location or vibe. Welcome home

Yea I was afraid when I had to go to the front desk to ask for over $40 reimbursement for laundry at VGC.

I was prepared with pictures that I took of the screen with the charges. The cast member didn’t bat an eye and had it applied to my account.

The only bad thing was I had paid off my balance with discounted gift cards. One CM said they would mail a check and another said they would refund to my card.
So they ended up refunding to my CSR and I charged the laundry to my VentureX so I was negative 40 chase points but not hat big of deal obviously.
