TFW Meet 2008 The Mission: Wiener Salad & Margaritas - Trip Report Links on Page 1

THis was on the News and Rumors Board if this helps anyone.

In our ongoing quest for continuous improvement, the Magic Kingdom Liberty Square Bridge will be closed from Friday, August 15 through Friday, August 29, 2008, for routine maintenance. The refurbished bridge is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, August 30. During this “Maintaining the Magic” refurbishment, we are reducing the grade on the bridge, making it easier to navigate for the parade vehicles, carts and other hand-pushed assets that will travel across the bridge, once it’s reopened.
While the Liberty Square Bridge is closed for refurbishment, additional entertainment enhancements will be offered to minimize any impact this closure might have on our shows and our Guest experience, including the following:
In addition to our normal 3pm Disney Dreams Come True Parade, a second Disney’s Dream Come True Parade is planned for 7pm.
Both Disney Dreams Come True Parades will follow a modified route, traveling from Town Square down Main Street, U.S.A., and circling around the Hub and back down Main Street, U.S.A, to step-off at the Fire House area gate.
Because the SpectroMagic parade floats are too large for the modified parade route, SpectroMagic will not be performed from August 15-29. However, additional experiences will be offered in the evening, including additional Castle Shows, extended evening Character meet-and-greets in Town Square and additional performances of the Woody’s Cowboy Camp show.
Wishes fireworks will be performed as scheduled

That will be so disappointing for everyone :guilty:

We could still see it on the 30th although I don't think MK was our planned park for that day.......hmmm....may have to do some more rearranging :rolleyes:

Hi y'all :wave:

So how serious are we thinking about Columbus day weekend 2009? I was playing with my point spreadsheet and I could definately do a long weekend in a studio at BW, just would have to make sure I call right at the 11 month mark as I know BW and BC go fast during F&W time.
I'm down for that 100%, except I'm not sure if we'll be there before and during Columbus Day or during and after Columbus Day, KWIM?

Hi Blue! :wave2:

Hi everyone! :goodvibes I just saw the post about SpectroMagic on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board and I thought of all of you! :sad1: Hopefully, it will be back up and running by time you guys get there. If not, I guess it's a good enough excuse to plan a return trip to WDW!!! ::yes::

Speaking of return trips, I am definitely on board for next year's meet if it's going to be around Columbus Day. :thumbsup2 We'll be there a couple days before and stay a few days after. So, planning it close to Columbus Day on either end would work for me. :goodvibes I'm still bummed about missing August, but I'm happy I have next year to look forward to! I can't wait to walk around Food & Wine Fest with you guys!

Have a great weekend!
-Michelle

I am definitely going to need to try and plan this ::yes::

Got my Garden Grocer order in - some how I spent more than I thought I would. :scratchin: Story of my life. :rolleyes1

Although when you apply Fuzzy math, I seem to make out ahead. Gotta love that fuzzy spending system. :teeth:

This early...I didn't think I needed to do this until about a week before. SHould I do it now. You have me panicing now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have had a very productive afternoon. I made and printed up all of my mousekeeping envelopes. I also made and printed (thanks to the Disigns Boards) all of the invites for the kids for the different character meals. I have offically started the planning folder than will come with us!

I have been in planning mode all day as well! I am making my written calendar for the few weeks before we go, making lists of what I need and soon the packing lists. 6 weeks is gonna wiz by and I hate last minute stuff.

So I am thinking of buying water from costco, anybody done that? Since L is picking me up she is gonna take me to wallmart or some such cheapie type place to get breakfast bars and stuff for my breakfast, to save money, and maybe some snacks. But i KNOW i am gonna need lots of water (I have my crystal lite packs ready to go already)...is it wrth it to buy from costco?

I have never bought anything from Costco Kat, but I know you can get a case of water CHEAP at wallyworld....just and FYI. Case of 32 bottles for something like $8.00

Note to self, be on the lookout for neck craning and arm flailing;)

::yes:: :lmao:
Well this sucks

No Spectro

Oh man...what a bummer!:headache: I got nervous there for a bit thinking they were doing away with it all together. PHEW!

I really wanted Kelly to see Spectro too, oh well, if she is the Disney geek I think she is maybe this won't be the only time I take her...

I'm a definite maybe :thumbsup2 I have to get Tony thru August and November before I bring it up though;)

last I saw here we could get a case at wally's for about 5 bucks.... luckily we are driving so that'll work out great... we used 2 cases last year so the plan is to get them here before we go hehe

Plannin away here too.... slowly but surely lol

I am sad, I have nothing left to plan. :sad2: It is just the anticipation that is killing me now. It makes me happy to know that when I get back from my trip to British Columbia which is one week away that it will be exactly one month until Disney! :woohoo:

Woo Hoo:woohoo: I don't have anything really left to plan either but I have got lots to do.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday we emptied Jimmy's bank and gatherd up money that I had gotten for my birthday and added it to our gift card, which now has $250 on it:woohoo:

While we were at the Disney Store I had to browse. JImy was allowed to buy one thing with $20 from his bank T was right they were having a great sale. I got Jim a grumpy t-shirt for $2.99 and Jimmy two tanks for $3.99 each. :woohoo:

Today I called CRO and confirmed the room and ME. I added our special requests, fridge and 2nd floor, and I had them note that we are celebrating Jimmy's 5th Birthdya nd Andrew's Graduation.

I have the box of stuff ready to mail to mom & dad, but I am holding off for a little while more "just in case"...plus we want to put some cash into it so mom can pick us up some cigarettes becasue they are half the price there that they are here.

I am going to start putting onto a spread sheet today what clothes Jimmy and I are taking (Jim is on his own and Andrew is his mother's problem:rolleyes1 ).

BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you !!!!!!!!!!

I'm down for that 100%, except I'm not sure if we'll be there before and during Columbus Day or during and after Columbus Day, KWIM?

I am toying with arriving late Thursday and leaving the following Wednesday, that should leave the option of 2 MNSSHP.

Nice:thumbsup2

HMM I thought I quoted your other post Janet, anyhow, I wouldn't wait until a week before to order with GG. I put mine it too already. Once a day is booked up that is it. I think you have time but wouldn't wait until a week out either.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I was out shopping with Murph yesterday and we stopped at the $1 store, I got Kelly a 4 pack of Hannah Montana mechanical pencils. I figure that would be good traveling as you don't have to worry about sharpening. I know I posted earlier about the HM puzzle book, but I also got a puzzle book at AAA, one of those with the invisible ink. SHould keep her busy in the airports and the plane. Though I have to admit she is a good kid not a fidgitiy one, I was pretty impressed at her brother's graduation.
I also have been playing around with my outfit spreadsheet, I lost a few pounds and some shorts I had that didn't fit but now do:thumbsup2
Oh and I have buyers remorse over a few ADR's , still tryiing for that later CR time, but I am thinking of canceling my Fantasmic dinner package. I am not convinced it is worth it and I hate the time, too early if you take a swim break at the hotel. I think you have 48 hours to cancel, right? I think I rather try CS or even that Captain's Galley at YC. Thoughts Fockers?
I am also thinking of canceling dinner at Tusker House the day of EMH. NOt sure if Kelly or I would care for it. We will be at DTD shopping beforehand and I think we would be better grabbing dinner there at Earl's or McD's. Thoughts Fockers?
Woo Hoo:woohoo: I don't have anything really left to plan either but I have got lots to do.
Really?? Have you completed your touring plans also? I've been slacking in that department. I've got all our must-see/do's done, but need to print out the touring plans and apply them to our list, KWIM? I still have my handy dandy lanyard organizer and it's ready to ROCK!! :cool1:
I was thinking of doing that for Evan. His birthday is 3 weeks before we leave - but then I thought Maddie might feel left out of that. :guilty:
I am toying with arriving late Thursday and leaving the following Wednesday, that should leave the option of 2 MNSSHP.
Would this be a solo trip, Mo?
I am still tweking things, but I don't have anything else going on except work until Fockerfest.
Let's see..... we've got Andy's company picnic at Knotts on 7/20, then Evan's birthday party on 8/2, then another picnic on 8/16, and a couple of visits to the new water park they put in just a few miles from here... that should make the time go quickly! :thumbsup2
Yeah, I think she'd probably prefer Mickey D's. ;) That way you don't waste your EMH eating, KWIM? Gives us more time for stalking each other. :lmao:
I told Denise she had to have her list to me by tonight. I wnat to put the order in before I go to bed tonight! Not that I am pushy or anything:rolleyes1
Good for you:woohoo:
I think you should go with what you think Kelly will like...if you don't think she will like Tusker House, is it worth the aggravation of schleping back to AK to eat there?
As for H & V, last August we didn't do Fantasmic, but I walked past to see what the lines were like and it wasn't that crowded at all...take that info with a grain of salt though, becasue you know how things change.
Really?? Have you completed your touring plans also? I've been slacking in that department. I've got all our must-see/do's done, but need to print out the touring plans and apply them to our list, KWIM? I still have my handy dandy lanyard organizer and it's ready to ROCK!! :cool1:
I tried RIdeMax this year. Anyone ever use it...it's eh...but we have an idea of what to do when. I don't write everything out, just our must do's...which with ANdrew is pretty much all the big rides that we have avoided the last couple of years becauce of Jimmy.
That's great, Janet. Now do you use that gift card for souvies or do you use that for snacks, meals, etc?
LAst year we used it for souvies, but there wasn't as much $$$. THis year I think we will use it to pay for meals, snacks.
I was thinking of doing that for Evan. His birthday is 3 weeks before we leave - but then I thought Maddie might feel left out of that. :guilty:
Didn't Maddie graduate Kindergarten this year:rolleyes1
We've (I) got work :mad: , we are taking Jim's sister to the Race Track next week for her birthday, the following weekend we are thinking of doing Sesame Place, the weekend of the 26th we are doing movie night for Jimmy and his friends (Jim borrowed the projector from school and his dad's movie screen and we are going to set it up in the year like a drive in), After that will be prepping the house for the contractor to come in (packing up stuff...moving furniture) Hopefully you are right, that will make time move fast:thumbsup2
Hi Michelle :wave:
The HM stuff sounds good and when we went to Fantasmic last August it was really crowded, we did the dinner package but TBH you still had to be there early so I wouldn't really bother!
Would this be a solo trip, Mo?
Yes, so far all my trips next year are looking that way.
I have to admit, I am really missing my solo time this year.
nah, not you:rolleyes:
See that's what I thought so what's the point of rushing back to the park to eat at 4:30?:confused:
Ok, so I am thinking of completely changing things around. I am thinking of canceling the CR for after WP and trying Big River Grille (no ADR's) and heading to DHS which has 2 Fantasmic's that night. If we stay for the later show it might be ok, because the next day is a late start for us, no rope drop that morning.
Then instead of Fantasmic with the package later that week, go to Epcot and either try for Beaches and Cream or maybe just order room service. Kelly might get a kick out of that. Tried for Capt Grill and only had a 7pm, I HATE FREE DINING! Of course there is always the American Pavilion and burgers and dogs there.:sad2:
I do think that I am going to cancel Tusker House and go for Earl's and if Kelly doesn't seem to want that just head to Mickey D's.
MOst of what hear Mo is that the second Fantasmic is not as crowded:confused3 I'm not sure becasue we haven't seen it for several years. We are going to try and see it this year, but if we don't it won't break our hearts. It's not one of our favorites!
I have seen Fantasmic once and have no real desire to see it again, but I do think Kelly may like it.
BTW anybody hate the new dining line as much as me, I hate voice activated systems and 2x my call has been mis-directed.:mad: Imagine the trouble Jo must have with her fake British accent;)
Anywho, I think I will be PM'ing Kat some itinerary changes. I may try to CR still for another night but I think I may have to give up on getting any more ADR's.
Did I already say how I hate free dining.:mad:
