TFW Meet 2008 The Mission: Wiener Salad & Margaritas - Trip Report Links on Page 1

What SHOULD 6 year old boys wear to a wedding. FYI, it's my more, um, redneck side of the family, so it won't be terribly formal.

Proper redneck summer wedding apparel for 6 year old boys is khaki or navy shorts ( the kind you wear for school uniforms ) and a polo style shirt ( grease stain is optional ). I would put my ds who is 4 in his school uniform for something like this.

I was going to say a pair of dress shorts and a golf shirt, but Margie said it so much better:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks, ladies. That sounds good. Even the more formal wedding that I was in last year was not too formal for them - I put them in khakis and button-downs.

I have nothing against the more redneck style wedding, btw. I grew up in a tiny farming town, so I'm used to receptions where people wear their "best jeans" :lmao: but then I also have a lot of college friends who did the Chicago weddings that cost a mint. I've had equal fun at both. ;)

Alright everyone I need help....

I am in the process of making Jimmy a couple of shirts for the trip. One of the one's I want to make is with DOnald Duck for our AK day and Breakfast with Donald.

I need some wording for the shirt. HELP!

OK, here's question. Even in May I only wore tank tops to the parks. I bought two cute t-shirts on disneyshopping the other day, but do any of you ever wear sleeves in August? AND now I am realizing that I need more tank tops. And I'm picky - they have to be long. I love Eddie Bauer's, but they closed the stores in both the malls here. :headache:

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Personally, I prefer more cloth coverage in the blazing sun. Lightwieght, super-thin cotton. This one time, at band camp... er, I mean at a Dead show ;) I was in an Indian cotton sleeveless sundress with no shade anywhere... Iw as approaching heat exhaustion and some how thought aout how people dress in desert climates - several lightweight layers and covered up, right? - so I wrapped another thin cotton shawl around my head and shoulders.... and felt SO much cooler!

All fo this to say, I generally opt for short sleeves over tanks. ;)

Oooh, good thoughts. :thumbsup2

Ooh... nope, I forgot that part! But thanks for the reminder ... gotta hit Dollar Tree this weekend for a supply of ziplocs! :thumbsup2
:faint:

And how could you have forgotten Ziploc's? Weren't they on your spreadsheet? Your to-do list??:confused3
Confused??? That's an understatement, the EMT at work just revived me with smelling salts!

How interesting, hmm, this may call for some shopping...

Ohhhhhh...that's easy.

Nice khaki shorts...but with a large belt buckle either with a bull or his name or "Rodeo" spelled out. Then, a plaid flannel shirt...but tuck it in and pull his pants all the way up to his chest.

And definitely boots.

Really?

I'd go with a nice pair of khaki short with a polo or cute button up shirt.

This is what I have been working on today at work. This is the 1st draft of the list of clothes for Jimmy. T inspired me with her spreadsheet:thumbsup2

:scared1:Really? Only 14 pairs of underwear? I have learned with a boy to always throw in an extra pair or two just in case... :lmao:

(I think I have the big fear of the farmer tan - maybe because my dad IS a farmer and I see just how bad it can get? :rotfl2: )
And what is wrong with a farmers tan or as I like to call it a golfers tan? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Ummmm Janet what will you say when I tell you we all decide what we'll wear that morning :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

OK help needed please, I've been pricing up a car and think I've found a pretty good deal, it's with Alamo and for a whole day with all the insurances, both DH and I as drivers, full tank of gas etc is about $55. What I need to know though is what are your rules on booster seats? Ellie is only about 132cm tall will she need one?

No. Here the law is under five has to be in a booster. She should be good.

Really???? Oh good saves me $10 :rotfl2: Over here they've just brought in a new law (about 2 years ago) that all children under 12 who are under 135cm must use a booster!

I heard talk the other day that they were considering changing it to something more along those lines here. Personally, I haven't taken my younger two (7 & 5.5) out of the booster because they are little. C's only 44 pounds at 7, and A's about 42 pounds. B, on the otherhand, was stockier and taller than both of them, so I did take her out at 5.
I tease C that she may need to take her booster on her honeymoon. :rotfl: Yeah, she loves that one...

That is 3 extra pair more than the days we are there...plus I will do laundry at least once:thumbsup2

THat's an awesome deal for the car Jo. Here's is Florida law on child restraints:

4. What is Florida's Child Restraint Law?

All children 5 years of age or younger must be properly restrained no matter where they are sitting in the vehicle. Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child safety seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a safety belt may be used. (FL Statute 316.613).

This was weird to me because here in Pennsylvania it is 8 years old or 80 lbs.

Hey all...just thought of something! Don't the MAgical packages start being sent about 45 days prior to travel day? Is so I am down to 47 days:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Wholly crap! I just got my letter from Disney showing my balance and stuff and I realized that I bought 8 day tickets instead of 10 day tickets!!!  Can I wait until we get there or should I call and change it right away?? I have until July 6th, I think? Opinions? Anyone ever do this?:confused3

I bought a 7 day and I am going to need an 8, going to the concierge isn't usually a problem, but I'm sure having it done before hand would make the stress less.

I don't think it matters. Either way...do you wanna not have that money now or later? ;)
