My year in a nutshell:

First semester: Oh dear. High school changed me quickly. I learned that I cannot march in band. I cannot march to save my life, so I didn't go to the parades we did. That really brought down my band grade, a lot. I got in a bit of trouble in PE, and I ended up almost failing the class, which comes into play later. When I brought home my report card with the bad grade on it, I was grounded for a really long time. That's why I wasn't here for about half the year.

Second Semester: I think of this as a time of new beginnings. I had a few more friends in my classes this time. I aced PE and Concert Band. I made a lot of new friends, and things are looking up. I made my schedule for this coming year with a mix of classes with all of my friends, so I'm in for a good year.

Summer: BORING. I've been here most of the summer. I start school in two days. I'm going to be old!

My year was the same, emtionally. The first half was like, "what?" and the second half, everything started new.

The thing is, I despise Band. I go from stages of liking it to loathing it. Right now, and probably until November, I will loathe it. I dislike marching season, and my mother won't let me quit band.

I guess that's just High School. Learning how to get around people and live with it.
