Test track rehab 2/29-???

Just read this on another site. We will be at Epcot March 2. Somebody please - say it ain't so!!

This is what I found on the Disney website. It mentions nothing of TT rehab!!

Magic Kingdom® Park
The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter closed on Sunday, October 12, 2003 for re-development. Replacing the attraction will be Stitch's Great Escape which is expected to open in Fall 2004.

Carousel of Progress - open seasonally

The Timekeeper - open seasonally

Epcot ®
Wonders of Life - open seasonally

Disney-MGM Studios
The Backlot Tour will not be operating January 4 - April 1, 2004.

Disney's Animal Kingdom ® Park
TriceraTop Spin will not be operating February 9 - March 16, 2004.

Disney's Blizzard Beach
There are no scheduled operational updates currently being performed at this park.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon will not be operating December 14 - February 28, 2004.


If you hear anymore "official" word on this, please post.

You're right, it isn't on the Official Disney site yet, but it was reported by screamscape.com. Should a moderator move this thread to News and Rumors? Sorry!!

It is not listed on any of the CM information either, however my hubby works at Mission Space and did mention this to me although I can not for the life of me remember the dates he told me. I will ask when he gets home.

Rehab scheduled to run from 29th of February and run until the 2nd of March . As well as the resurfacing of the track and queue area, they are looking at re-introducing the excellent crash car effect towards the end of the indoor section.

Along with the main rehab, the post show Dreamchasers is going down for a rehab until mid March, with a whole new film (possibly 3D)."

I agree that in the grand scheme of life -- or even the smaller scheme of WDW rehabs -- 3 days is not a big deal. However, for those who are only in WDW for a few days and cannot change their schedules, it may be disappointing that one of the two e-ticket rides at Epcot will not be available. I know for us, who really enjoy Test Track and who have been talking up the ride to our finally-old-enough-to-ride son, it's a bit of a bummer.

Yes, only 3 days...just happens to include the one and only day I will be at Epcot.

Re-introduce? When/why did they get rid of it? Last time I was there, they had it (I think...) in March 2003. Glad they're putting it back in.

yeah...I was just suprised at the lack of a timely notice.

I do hate this news for those of you who will be there during those three days. It looks like Disney is doing as much as it can as fast as it can during the short rehab. Just wondering -and too lazy to look it up -is that during "peak season"?
