Trying to plan out what rides to choose when I can pick out rides next week online for fast pass +. My girls saw a thing on tv for Test Track and really want to do it, but I think they would like Soarin' too. I am going to assume it will be fun for a 4 year old (as well as my 8 year old).

Anyways, which ride will have a shorter wait time if I have to get one fast pass?

TIA!

Test Track usually has the shorter wait of the two, but I don't think there is much difference since Test Track was re-imagined in 2012. I think the longer-wait-at-Soarin used to be more pronounced than it is now.

Both rides have 40" height requirement, so a short 4-year-old may not qualify. Haven't seen a 4-year-old yet who didn't enjoy both rides.

Which one you fastpass I think should largely depend on when you arrive and what else you have planned.

We just got back and had late morning FP+ for Soarin. We went straight to Test Track (standby), then again single rider, then Mission Space and we were essentially done with that side of the park.

We have a four year old so we know we will spend more time at Nemo, turtle Talk, Figment, Living with the Land, etc. so we'd rather head to the east side and knock it out first.

And my 4 year old loved both:

Under this new regime where you can only pick one, you should get a FP+ for Soarin'. Two reasons. The SB line for TT is usually shorter, so that is the obvious reason; and the SB line for TT is at least moderately interesting if you have to wait an hour in it. The SB line for Soarin' is the antithesis of an interesting, interactive queue. More like a death march. I try to avoid that 75 minutes of boredom at all costs.

When I took my son back in 2012 he was 5 and we did Soarin. He LOVED it! It really feels like u are hand gliding through all those places its very very cool! We have a trip planned for 3/28-4/6 this year and I am at the same point you are at...trying to decide which fast passes I want to get so I can reserve them next week. Since we already did Soarin last time, I am going with Test Track this time, specially since they redesigned it to look like Tron. Besides my son didnt get to do Test Track when we were there in 2012 bc the lines were way way way too long, lol. It should be fun to try something new. In your case I would sit down with your girls, go on you tube and look for videos of each ride. Thats what I did with my son this year. That way they can pick which ride they would rather go on. My son is tall enough now to go on all the big rides but hes still only 7, so we did a lot of ride watching to make sure he wouldn't be scared of any of the rides lol. Good luck on your decision!

Good advice from both of these posters.

You probably are referring to which of the two to get a FP+ for, but it should probably be clarified for the OP that it's possible to do both Soarin and Test Track with minimal waits.

Simply be at the park before it opens (Epcot typically opens about 8:45, even though park doesn't officially open until 9:00) and head immediately to whichever one you don't have a FP+ for. The wait will be minimal for it.

Thanks for the tip on watching the ride on Youtube. The girls really liked Soarin. I am guessing that we hopefully get the Soarin' fp and go straight to TT when the park opens. Plus I did notice how boring the wait would be on Soarin compared to Test Track.

I agree with most PP's regarding this. Definitely chose Soarin' as the SB line is usually well over an hour, and TT is a shorter line.

When we went the SB for TT was 15-20 minutes, and moving pretty steadily. And this was during the day, a week before the American Thanksgiving.

Ah, the eternal question. I've only changed it about 100x!

Right now I am FP for Test Track with Soarin' standby at rope drop. My strategy behind that is I think most ppl will FP+ Soarin to go to Test Track/Mission Space and be done with that side, making the early morning standby line very short.

However the person that said how awful the SB queue is for that is now making me rethink that choice!! AHHH!!!!

If you do Soarin' at RD, you won't have to wait 75 minutes in the horrid queue, so you won't have to worry. If you move quickly, a RD wait will be 10-15 minutes, tops.

Oh we will be moving as fast as a 56, 55, 40, 35, 32, 9 & 6 year old can. LOL!

My plan is to be there at 8:30/8:45 at the latest.

Soarin'. If push comes to shove you can use the single rider line on test track and get your party through more quickly that way.

I agree with this. We did do TT right after rope drop, then MS. Did another TT in the single rider lane.

We currently only have one day at Epcot planned with FP+, and I picked TT because my kids already watched the ride video and are super excited. However, we also have a day we planned to hit RD at Epcot, so one parent will take the kids to Soarin' right away and the other parent is going to sprint to get in the Anna and Elsa line, assuming things stay the same way they are now. However, I'm trying to decide if we should do a RD sprint for TSMM since that's the only thing we need a FP for at DHS, and then have a second day of FP+ at Epcot (since we already have a dinner ADR in Epcot).

Not with a four year old and an eight year old. They won't be allowed to ride alone.

Last week we went to EPCOT at opening time and headed straight to Soarin'. My FP+ were at Studios for the afternoon. We got on Soarin' pretty quickly, but the couple next to my Wife ran their mouths through the entire ride. As we left I told them to keep their mouths shut next time so others could enjoy the ride. They appeared oblivious.

So we got in line again so my Wife could actually enjoy the ride and she said it was so much better.

From there we went to Test Track and the Standby line was 40 minutes. By now it was 10:05. I looked at the FP return time and it was 10:10! Grabbed a couple tickets and walked right on.

Test Track is a ride and Soarin they hang you in the air and show you a movie of what it would look like to go on a ride so you can make you're choice from that. ;)
