Test Track First Thing

Ah - of course, I should have defined my term. ;) (Not the same to everyone!) It DEFINITELY means rope drop for me. Right away, ready to go. On that day I have a FP later for Soarin' so the original plan was to do TT first then Sum of All Thrills. Even after I learned I could get more FP+s (when that changed) I still felt like this would work for us.

That's our plan as well. We are only going to Epcot for one day, so we will be at rope drop, then straight to TT. I was hoping to ride twice then head to Sum of all Thrills, but if standby line is ridiculous we may do Mission Space then Sum of all Thrills. We've got FP+ for Soarin' at 11:25am.

It definitely could have changed in the last year or so, but we had a similar plan on a previous trip and Sum of All Thrills opened an hour after the rest of the park. TP had it wrong then. Good luck!

Dangit! That puts a kink in my touring plan for sure.

RD for us was about 8:55. We hit Soarin' first. We had hoped to ride twice, but the line was already 90 minutes when we got out (we only waited about 15, but got there slow due to bad knees). Our friends and DS went running to TT, DH and I decided to sit that out.

They got to TT at 9:45. According to what she texted me, standby was 60 minutes, so they got in the SR line, which was supposed to be 20. I believe it took over 1/2 hour. We had a FP for later, so I did not feel like waiting in line.

This was during SB, the week before Easter. I think TP said it was a 9 that day, which felt about right.

If we head straight to TT first thing in the morning, will the wait really be about 23 minutes? (Going on June 8th, so busier than it is now for sure.) My Touring Plan is telling me it will be that long but that sounds weird to me.

This may be a silly question (I haven't gotten a touring plan from an outside source for years), but is the 23 minutes for the wait before you get into the design chamber? Before you get into the ride vehicle? Or a total of wait, design, and ride? Because 23 minutes sounds about right for the total ride experience.

We have an 8:10 ADR at Akershus on our Epcot day, so my plan is to go from there right to TT. If we exit the restaurant before the park officially opens, is there a spot where they will "hold" us until opening? Or will we be able to walk right over to TT? I don't imagine we'll finish our meal much before opening, but my hope is to get back to TT before the SB line gets too long. Then we'll use our Tier 1 FP+ on Soarin'.

I was at Epcot alone last week and while I was at the park before opening I was not first in line at the turnstyle. By the time I got to Test Track the standby line was out the door so I tried to do single rider but they told me they don't open that line until 9:15. I did Mission Space instead and came back to TT. It it supposed to but I have found in the past that they don't always seem to get the message to open the park which is frustrating.

I got on single rider at 9:05 yesterday so I guess it depends on the CM. My 4.5 year old (who is 47") was screeching that she didn't want to go so single rider felt like the fastest way to get through. It was - walked through to the cars and was put right on. Then my husband got his turn and had the same experience of walking right on.

I think it depends on what the standby line is doing. If they are sending out empty cars, there is no need for a single rider line.

Weird though that if the line was backed up that far they wouldn't let him on via single rider. Unless he has to wait for some sort of "official word" or something.
