Test Track and about it

As everyone else has said, either go first thing in the morning or get a FP. We usually have DH get FPs for Soarin and then we ride Test Track and Mission Space. At that time of the morning the wait for both is minimal.

When I went in May, it was the longest line I stood in. But that may have been because of breakdowns.

Were you there during the rains? We were... all 12 days of our trip. :sad2:
They don't run it if it's raining/wet, so that would cause quite a backup throughout the day with people waiting until it's dry to use their FP.

When we went in October we went directly to Soarin at rope drop, rode it stand-by and then headed to Test Track and rode it stand-by with about a ten minute wait. And really, by the time we walked through all the first part of the line area, there wasn't much of a wait at all. We did this on 2 different days and it worked great both days. It wasn't a very crowded time of year, though, either.

I did this on EMH (morning) - two rides on Soarin, then to Test Track and two rides. Next morning, we did Test Track, FP'd it and then went to Soarin'. It looks like you are going during a quieter time as well.

Lines can be hard, but engage her in conversation and play some simple games. She is getting of the age where if she knows there is something good at the end, she may be willing to wait a little longer. But like I said, 15 is about the limit for me!

GM employees get to go to the front of the line. All you need to do is go to the information desk found in the car showroom at the end of the ride, show them your plant ID and they will give you special passes and instruct you where you need to go. You actually get in line in front of the FP people. I do not know if there is a daily limit on how many times you can do this. We only do this 1-2 times a day (once in the morning and once before we leave at the end of the day). Our family loves this ride!

If FP doesn't work out for you, or you all want to ride again after using FP, I would recommend the single rider line. My DS has been doing it since he was 7. When he was that young, we would have one adult go before him, and one after him. That way, he was never waiting alone in line, and he was never alone waiting for us to get off. There is a VERY slim chance you will get to sit beside each other if you use the single rider line (we never have been placed together). But, there is a chance you might be placed in the same car (slim, but still a chance).

You know your child best to know if she would be OK riding with "strangers"!

Another vote for the single rider line. Most of the time, you end up being able to ride in the same group anyway, so you end up riding in the same car. Even if you are not selected for the same group initially, the rider that is selected first can just wait in the back of the line after the video until the second rider comes out of the video ... then queue up together in line.

Solid advice here, if you hustle it with the rope drop crowd, you should be able to get at least one, if not two rides in before the line really gets long, otherwise get Fast Passes, and the wait isn't likely to be more than 10 to 15 minutes at worst.
This is what we do! We grab Fastpasses for Soarin' instead and just really hurry to Test Track.
