Jan 18th Julie's Trip is Complete
We decided to go watch Turtle Talk. Julie had a question all prepared and she was ready to go. Nico knew that if he was called on, he needed to give the Microphone to Julie, since he had gotten to talk to Crush 3 times already this trip. Lee said he wanted to go back to the hotel for a little bit, but he would meet us over there.
The first show came and went, and Crush didn’t call on Julie who now had her hand raised through the entire show. Right at the end, she stood up and started crying. Then Samantha started crying.
“I need your help, I can’t take them both, “ I was turning to explain to Tony, who was already up and heading to grab Sammie. Thank God for Tony, I thought, as I grabbed Julie who was flailing her legs and crying.
“Do you want to try this again?” I asked Julie.
“I promise you Julie, you will get to talk to Crush, I will make sure of it. Stop crying and I will be sure you get to talk to him.” Tony was telling her.
She calmed down and we got in line again. Tony went to go talk to a CM about getting Julie called on. The CM explained that there was no way to guarantee that. Then, another CM came up and asked if the kids wanted to help do the countdown for Crush. They all agreed and they were excited.
“What are their names so I can announce them?” The Cm asked me
“Nico, Julie, and Samantha “ “And where are you from?” She asked again.
“Atlanta,” Nico told her excitedly.
“I’m not Julianna , you silly goose.” Julianna said laughing. “I’m princess Tyrone.”
“Oh my,”

I said looking at Tony. All he could do was shake his head and laugh. Now, when crush comes and talks to the kids, he generally picks on the first seat in the front row of where the kids sit on the right-hand side. So, I started to sit the kids right there so that Julie would talk to Crush.
When they had to get up to do the Countdown for Crush, they lost their spots. “Hello everybody,” the CM was saying. “This is Nico, Julianna, and Samantha from Atlanta and they are going to help countdown for Crush to come. After they count to three, they will call Crush. Ready?”
“, 1, 2, 3, Hello Crush!!” Nico and Julie shouted as Samantha just stood there. She really is a shy two year old. They found other seats and when it was time to ask questions, Crush picked Nico.
“Come on Nico, give the mic to Julie,” I was whispering. I think Tony was whispering something to that effect too.
Nico hadn’t said anything since getting called on. The moments seemed to go by longer and longer until Crush asked him if he forgot his question. He nodded and the CM took another kids question. I was so disappointed, until I saw Nico’s face as he turned around to look at me.

He felt awful. He was so upset with himself, I couldn’t be mad. He ran back to me
almost in tears as he snuggled up to me.

I kissed him and told him it was ok.
In all fairness to Nico, he had been told a few different things. We all had told him to give the microphone to Julie. Lee, Tony and I had all said that. But Lee also had told him that he should have asked Crush is he was a member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It would have been a funny question, but I think Nico wasn’t sure what to do when he got called.
When the show was over, Julie started crying, which set Samantha off again. WE grabbed the two girls and we walked out to get back in line a 3rd time. At this point, Lee finally showed up. Tony said he wasn’t going to go into this show. He was Crushed out. It was almost time for Illuminations, it was the one show I hadn’t seen. I decided to leave Lee and Tony and I went to watch the Fireworks. We were waiting for the fireworks to start, and
I called Lee to see what happened with Julie.
“Julie is talking right now, “ Lee whispered. “Ok great” I said as I hung up the phone.
A huge relief was off my shoulders. My baby had gotten the one thing she had asked for this trip.

After the fireworks, I met up with Lee to walk him back to the Hotel and get the kids settled.
“So what happened?” I asked Lee
“Well, the first show we did, none of them got picked.” He said
“Did she freak out?” I asked Lee wondering how he dealt with that since he had to deal with Julie and Sammie who always started crying once Julie started.
“No actually, Julie was sad, but it wasn’t a full tantrum. Samantha was the problem. She is so conditioned to running to you crying after the show, she started running back before I even had a chance to catch her. “ He was saying,.
I tried not to think about my 2yo running all around a theater looking for me and not being able to find me and focus on the positive. Julie got to talk to Crush!!
“Ok, so anyway, we got into the theater and we all sat on the floor. And before Crush said anything Julie had her hand raised. So finally, when he went to go talk to the kids, he said, ‘Oh ok, I’ll pick this girl since she already has her hand raised. What’s your name little girl?’ Julie waited a bit then said, ‘Julianna.’ Then Crush said, ‘Can I ask you a question Julianna? Do you like to Swim?’ She didn’t answer for a while then she said, ‘I like Karaoke’ and everyone was laughing you know.

So then Crush said, ‘Karaoke? Is that anything like swimming?’ Julie didn’t say anything and Crush said, ‘cause if it is, I like Karaoke too.’ And everyone was laughing.”

We were all listening intently as Lee continued,
“So next, Crush asked her who brought her and she said ‘my daddy’ so you know of course, Crush did his bit with me too.” Lee was all smiles as he was remembering the show.

I think
he really had a great time with the kids and I was really sorry I had missed it. “Then, Crush was asking questions and he picked Nico. He asked Nico what people did at the beach and things, but he was asking Nico very specific questions, so he didn’t get a chance to ask him the other question. But you know, “ Lee continued, “after it was over Julie was jumping up and down shouting and smiling ‘I talk to Crush I got to talk to Crush.’”
I was so happy for Julianna and as much as I was sad that I missed it, I was glad Lee didn’t miss it. He never really gets bonding moments like that with the kids, and I was glad he had the opportunity to share that with them.
WE left and Tony offered to take me to Downtown Disney to get something to eat while Lee took the kids back to the room. I helped Lee get the kids to bed and I went out for some food. Now, it was about 9:30pm when we pulled away from the hotel.
"Where do you want to go to eat?" Tony asked, "I know you are hungry and I would like to see you eat something since you haven't eaten in 2 days." "Why did we go to that restaurant anyway. Lee knew you were hungry and he knows you don't eat there." He asked.
"It was rely the only thing they had available," I explained. Then, I decided to answer his question, "I really don't care where I go to eat. I'm so tired, you can decide, I can't even think."
We pulled back into the Boardwalk and Tony woke me up. "Hey, are you going to be ok walking back up to the hotel?" He asked.
"I don't know, I thought we were going to eat."

I said, not really caring that I hadn't eaten anything because I was so damn tired.
"Well, I drove out of the parking lot. I took a left towards downtown Disney I looked over and you were asleep. I tried to wake you up and ask you where you wanted to eat and you responded, 'I need more covers'. So I made a Uturn and brought you back here."

He said.
"Ok, that sounds nice." I said.
Eventually, he got me out of his car and I walked up to my room. "What are you doing back here so soon?"

Lee asked.
"I don't really know." I said yawning. "When I fell asleep we were driving out of the parking lot and when I woke up we were driving back into the parking lot. I'm so tired, I don't care. I just want to go to bed."
That was the last thing I remember.
