hi friends, it is tueday

hope your day goes fine.
i did get one call from one insurance company yesterday but not the other.

i called and left voice messages for that gal.

and starting at 7 this morning, left more.

i hate having to stay in the house waiting for a call.
i have to take the cat to the vet at noon.
if i don't hear from her by then, i'll leave another message with my cell #

it's kind of like checking in with mom.
calling to leave a message where i will be.........

morning all :sunny:

mac- i can't believe those amounts for a deductible??
what ever happento $1,000 for a max deductible?

i don't like any type of insurance companies.

Needless to say those guys selling life insurance don't get a big
welcome from me. the fact thet they load mailbox and cll at dinnertime doesn't help either :teeth:

Ed- can we all tag-along on cruise? we can sneak in through the luggage :rotfl:

sweets- you'll hear from me. but ask mac, i may get in touble
if i say something :rolleyes1

then Valerie tells me on last week she had her IPOD stole at school
she left her bag in music room while the class went next door to practice
for graduation.
Why would you leave a $300 ipod in a room unattended???
know she has to go out buy it yourself.
She does alot of babysittiing.
but i don't see her buying it for awhile!
Hopefully it's a big lesson learned!

mic- what are we up to with the missong co-worker - week 25? :rotfl:
is someone dusting off her desk!

Morning my friends

Well, it is Tueday, and yes, insurance companies still suk bigtime...they love it too, as they are reaping the rewards of high premiums and then refusing coverage for anything they can get away with. I was able to pick up dental insurance only thru my job, which is good, a lot of places won't let you take that as a stand alone policy. Vision I can live without, we can get discounts thru AARP if we go to certain eye places, plus I've found Costco/Sams to be cheap. Vision was something reimbursed, but not the total amount. I just got new contacts which it did pay for, so that is good. Good luck mac getting them to call you..... :sad2: I feel for you, it IS annoying. That sure is an awful deductible you are looking at. Of course today, it doesn't take long to reach even a high one. When my FIL was so ill several years ago, it was 1/2 million dollars for the hospital, than everything else afterthat, Dr.'s, meds, nursing home for rehab.....it was worth it though, he is still with us. Thank god they have good insurance, but at that, they pay plenty per month for it.

MJ, no co-worker...week #6, although it does seem like week 25.. :teeth: I needed to leave 15 minutes early on Friday, and said I would only take a 15 minute lunch to compensate, and was told that was fine....not, "oh, don't worry about it, just leave, we won't dock you".. I think if I had not volunteered (stupid me :p ), she probably would not have docked me anyway, but I don't like feeling like I "owe" anyone anything. :thumbsup2

It is so beautiful here today....I wanna go outside............ :yay:

Where have the boys been? I think Bob is away maybe? or was that over the weekend? Anyway, I miss them........

Hi guys I'm still here that job thing is keeping me busy, I'll try to post more later.

Hi ya all!

Nunnery told me they don't accept the likes of me....arrrrrgh! May God have mercy on my heathen soul.:goodvibes

Good luck on the insurance issues...we're lucky in that we don't have a deductible under DH's current contract, nor do we contribute to our health/dental insurance (god bless the steelworkers union LOL). Do expect that golden goose to evaporate when it expires next June. DH sez I can't plan any trips to the mother land next year (which is why I snuck in 3 since last Dec.). Have a feeling we'll be paying big bucks for insurance even though the company is posting record profits. Just hope International Union doesn't sell them out (like they did last time on wages & working conditions) & go for a strike to "test the waters". Those pesky bills don't go away, have to start a war chest to tide us over I suppose. I'll think about that after Xmas.;)

Just sat down to nice lunch @ Smokey Bones w/DS when we got a call that Big Ben was involved in that accident. We had the staff switch the tv's over to the local news. People were crying & carrying on as though something had happened to the President. I feel bad so for him, such a waste. Not sure if wearing a helmet would have helped but, don't think it would of hurt. DH & DS both clamoring for motorcycles. Hope this slows down their urge.
muf - your daughter must be devastated, it sure is something she'll remember.

KS...we are Steelworkers Union also..... so I hope your dh doesn't get sold down the river like we are being handled as far as the plant closing down and retiree benefits. It sure has been a learning experience...us learning that it is not as it supposed to be, nor do they give a damn that you are getting turned like a screw. :sad2: The whole thing is obnoxious and has left a sour note, that is for sure. But I'm glad it's done and over with. It sure turned our lives upside down at a point in life you are supposed to be feeling secure. What does you dh do? You can PM me if you don't want to post.

Sorry about your Ben...that news must have hit Steeler fans like a lead balloon

Oh no MuffyJo that is awful. I hate it when kids have to learn their lesson the hard way. Matthew has one of those ipods and Im always after him to be careful with it.
It really sickening how ppl just take things that are not theirs.

No outside for us here. We are in the 90's and the mosquitos are hellacious. We must have some rain while we were gone cause I didnt see any before we went on our trip.

You poor DD!!! I completely feel for her. I left my car doors unlocked at Christmas when i was in DC. I took everything out except some money in the ashtray closed and the wrapped presents in the back of the car.

Needless to say, someone went into the car and stole my wrapped christmas presents.

If they had bothered to unwrap them, a lot of them were presents for my neices and nephew or aunts and uncles. Pics of my kids, or toys, or disney Jammies..things like that. Nothing like a $300 ipod. They did take the money out of my ashtray too.

I've had my house broken into when I was 19. I guess I just never learn my lesson.

I really do feel for her. It sucks having to be that careful in your own school.

Other than the last contract, we've never been robbed. Talk about feeling violated. Think bad karma man!

mic (or should I say union brother); DH will probably retire in another 10 or 15 years depending on how shaky the employment pic is @ that point. So far the retirees are being "taken care of" as promised. I just hope that social security & his pension are still in place. My poor Dad died fighting for disability/black lung benefits from years in the coal mines; never did get his retirement benefits. Not that you "expect charity", just what was promised as condition of employment. Local union has given up salary in lieu of benefits (at company urging) for years. Now that health costs are so high, they want to shift things around & get out from that burden. IMO, they want it both ways - mandatory OT, no pre-set schedules, etc. I'm done venting - time to think of upcoming trip.

Pam are you a home flipper? I'm a retired real estate agent, how's the market for your area. I've seen a few investors get burnt in our neck of the woods. Tried to talk DH into being the sweat equity guy but, he passed on that scheme.;)

I was thinking about you saying your dd's iPod was stolen and how crappy that was....especially probably someone she knows! :furious:

I just talked to the vice principal who said he looked at some tapes and saw nothing.

I asked if my DD and I could come and look at them. Maybe she will see something. And he said no problem! So we're going tomorrow morning.
It just pissing me off that some kid would do this.

I kmow it's her on stupidity & careless and hopefully she will learn a big lesson!

IMO home daycare is an important job! Is Athome America a franchise ala Pampered Chef? I do Avon on the side - ding dong - mostly because I'm addicted to their bubble bath & go thru cartons of it each month, figure I might as well get it @ cost.
