mia for a bit, mom got bit by her bad cat on hand, looked to be getting infected; took her to local ER very early Sun am.

ER doc said it was "massive infection" & her fingers if not her hand would have to amputated if she didn't receive penicillin immediately. Problem is, she's very allergic (can take cipro though)...informed doc; who replied it was that IV or nothing could be done for her.

massive reaction, BP down to 47/40; oxygen very low - machine bells blaring; no nurses in sight - had to go & grab one. Dr. had the nerve to finally re-appear & ask if she was a DNR

touch & go, finally regrouped & shipped up to ICU stepdown. Her family dr. appeared & kept stating to me & the nurses "the ER tried to kill my patient...I had nothing to do with it"

the hospital administration is hiding from me.

she's back home, shaken & stirred - guess she's a tuff old broad.

Just a quickie to let you all know I am still here. I have just been extremely stressed out lately and just when it all started to look better, it got worse. I will be back to play when things get better and I will try to stop in from time to time if things don't change soon. But hopefully, in the next few weeks, things will improve.

I miss you all!!!

Keisha, SO sorry about your mom, and wow, that is awful...and you informed them she was allergic to penicillian and they gave it to her anyway well, you don't need me second guessing for you, but that just seems so dumb........hope she is better and you are feeling less of a strain today...poor dear....hugs and prayers my friend

Sweetie momma, you dropped in!! Sorry you're having issues too but we all are here for you and you too have our love and prayers...if the 'problem' is the 'other' in your life, give the 'other' a quick kick in the pants for all of us!

Pam, I'm glad it's Tuesday too, but today was about as bad as yesterday, I'm pooped.

mac, how is skool...keeping the hooligans in line....hey, did you get any snow? I saw on the weather channel how windy and cold it was out Chicago way, and I just heard Erie, Pa got 8 inches of snow Hope it missed you on it's way east...I know you hate the cold.

Ok, gotta get ready to split like a banana........oh Momma, that is funny about the rubber..... The Brit's have some funny slang that is entirely different meaning over on this side of the pond...

thanks for the shoulder - finally got phone call back from hospital, they're investigating it...wanted to know if i wanted to have a meeting no, i want the er dr. fired Mom is still complaining of pain & a bit of a weeble (hope she just wobbles & doesn't fall down)...trying to be positive. She doesn't need any more obstacles to deal.

mac - think i'd like to bite the cat myself.

the 2nd thing i think of when hearing the word rubbers is a pair of mini-golashes men used to wear on their dress shoes...wonder if they still make them?

mic--have fun getting pretty nails. I just called to get my haircut today and they can get me in on thursday I think that is the fastest I have ever gotten into this hairdresser. My hair is driving me nuts...it is getting long! well long for me anyway.


Off to make the kids some dinner. Dave stayed in Lincoln after his meeting for work today and is going to a Nebraska Basketball game tonight. Looks like the kids and I are on our own.

KS, I remember boys wearing the old rubbers over their shoes, and girls wore the red, yellow or blue rain boots...I used to hate wearing those things...we wore dresses to school too!! no pants back in those days. And the stiffer and bigger round the petticoat made your dress stand out, the better it was

Pam, what kinda hair do you going for this time? Mine is growing out pretty well, and I'm over the hump of hating it while it was growing...still working on getting all the top layers grown out...seems like it is taking forever.

Off to watch some TV and get under the covers, it is so getting chilly this evening...we have been spoiled with the warm temps.

It was chilly here today too...sent the kids with their winter coats today as it was 25 degrees when they went to school.

I'm not sure of the style I am going for this time. I may look at some books when I get there...if i don't have time to do that I'm sure my lady will have some ideas...she good at that.


I'm off to get aubrey in the tub before dwts comes on.

Chilly start here this a.m.....45 degrees, which isn't awful, but with the warm spell we had, it feels cold. Supposed to go down in the 20's tonight...brrrr
