Has anyone used this product and did it work? We are having an ant issue, driving me nuts!!! We have a dog and a 16 yr old cat indoors and 3 cats who live outside (they adopted us, they are fixed and vaccinated and have shelter...come in when weather is very bad) so hiring an exterminator worries me. Any other ant tips are welcome, thanks.

We used this and it does work. The thing is that that you may see a lot more ants than you saw before. They go crazy for the bait. You have to resist the urge to kill the ones you see as the bait will only work if you let the ants take it back to their nest. Eventually they will all die and there will be no more ants from that nest coming in search of food.

for the little ants...we put the terro traps under the areas or behind the fridge area...so that our dog couldnt get to it..put the traps in areas that they cant get...
this stuff is amazing..put one under the sink area too...and shut the doors

They work great. We sometimes get ants on one of our counters (ugh). I hate to do it, but I put one on the counter until they're gone. Its gross for a while, but it does the trick. I just bleach and scrub the heck out of that counter after its over :rotfl:.

Yes I tried others but terro was the one that worked.
I almost died when I saw the amount of ants around the traps... :scared1::scared1::scared1: They were all gone in a day or so... it worked great and they have not come back.. it has been several years.

I am having the same problem because of the early warm weather the ants are turning my home into their home. I have to pick up some Terro tonight.

Yesterday I found a few ants trying to share my cats food.

Buy the Terro, don't waste your money on any other baits. They work, but like a pp said when you see the ants leave them alone and let them take it back to their nest.

These things are awesome! They work great, they will get rid of your problem. But just remember this: you will probably see so many ants that you will freak out. There is something about this stuff that draws them in.

After a day, I nearly had a heart attack, as there was a full line of ants coming to the trap, and a full line of ants leaving the trap (with some drowning inside the trap). And when I say a full line, I mean hundreds and hundreds of ants.

But that doesn't last long, and before you know it, you will see zero ants. The colony will be gone.

We've used Terro, but it took an exterminator to get rid of the ants. Best money ever spent! We also had a dog and it was never a prolem.

My house is on a cement slab so I get ants every year. I only use the Terro Liquid Ant Bait Traps. Not only do they work amazingly well but they are also all natural so there is no danger to pets.
As previous posters said, you will see a lot of ants as they move from the nest to the bait. I follow the parade of ants back to the nest and put another trap right outside it. Kills them faster. I usually have about 4 out at time covering all the ways they are getting into the house. They come in the same places every year so as soon as I see one ant I put them all out.
I even had them in my second story shower last year and the traps worked great in there as well.

near where you think they are coming in. They travel by sense of smell. The vinegar overpowers thier trail. We used it with the traps and they were all gone in about 3 days.

I know someone said it's safe to use AROUND pets, but my cat likes to capture and consume them once in a while . Is it safe to use if she eats one that has been into the bait? Or even played with it?

From the Terro website:

Is Terro Liquid Ant Bait safe to use around pets and children?

Terro can be used safely around pets and children. The inert ingredients are sweet food-based products similar to pancake syrup. The active ingredient is Borax. Borax is a natural mineral that is found in many consumer products and has been used safely by homeowners for years.

BEST PRODUCT AVAILABLE! Truly. Don't waste your time or money on anything for ants besides Terro.

I'm amazed that all of you have had success with Terro. I had heard so much about it, so I bought some a couple years ago. Put it out where the ants where, and at first yes, they were all parading in to get some. But the next morning when we got up, they had piled small pieces of dirt all over the trap. Everytime we put a new trap out, they piled dirt all over it.

We have smart ants that don't like to be tempted. :confused3

On the flip side, if you know where the colony is, you can boil them! That works wonders. Also, if they're coming into your house, put cinnamon all along where they're coming in. They avoid it like the plague. HOWEVER, you have to keep pets away from it, because consuming cinnamon can make them sick.
