Termination of DVC Membership Due to Misconduct?

I know this is not usually posted on these boards. But this question sounds like a question for the DVC guide. The guides are not allowed (by Disney) to post to these boards. But I would think they would know:

1) if the above mention member can have his contract revoked and how;
2) how it would affect the member's family especially if the spouse is on the contract
and
3) whether the new contract your other family member is considering would not be connected to this out of control family member's account. (I don't see how it could, if you are buying a first time contract.)

Good Luck!
why arent guides allowed to post on the boards???

I know that this is totally different but on the ABD boards, in AUgust, when things started to get scary, "so--called DISnEY personnel" should up to calm the uproars of the ABD travelers that were upset by price increasees...

so i am just wondering w hy one entitiy would be allowed to post and not another?

I have doubts that that any Disney personnel are allowed post to message boards in any type of official manner, including answering many specific questions. When something is in writing, it is much more or a legal issue...if a Guide posted about perks for example, without carefully posting disclaimers that they can be discontinued at anytime, etc. it could cause problems.

There have been CM's who have been discharged from their jobs due to postings on the internet. I am sure DVC personnel would not be willing to put their careers at risk...

Yes, but there is no reason that Disney or DVC could not make a corporate decision to have representatives on websites. There are a number of travel providers who do so on flyertalk and many posters have commented that it has proved to be a wonderful marketing tool. -- Suzanne

Who do you think would pay the salary of a DVC Rep, likely a lawyer, to monitor and respond to sites like the DIS? Members through dues? DVC Marketing, who's goal would be sales increases?

I agree with Dean. I suspect that Disney could only ban someone from being on premises (which has happened to guests from time to time).

Disney personnel DID post on the ABD board in an *official* capacity, but ABD is a totally different animal. DVC guides are selling real estate and there are many, many laws about that. The ABD person was acting a PR person for what is essentually a travel agency selling vacations.

I was very surprised to see the ABD person post, but I would be SHOCKED to see anyone from DVC post. (except that DeeVee Cee person--she seems like troll material to me!)

There's too much risk to allow just anyone to post in an official or semi-official capacity. There are some that post incognito, including on this board but it seems they're very careful about what they say. If you read their posts carefully you can see who they are though I believe. II and RCI have done this in the past with TUG and they tended to have very high level people do so. You really have to know what to do and say to do this type of thing reasonably and you need to be high enough so that it's difficult to get called on the carpet if you misspeak even slightly. These are usually either legal department or upper level VP types. It takes a lot of work and time and they generally get very little consideration work wise for the time and effort spent, it truly is a labor of love when this type of thing happens. And they get it from both sides, the Board and management, it's truly a no win situation. And unlike many companies that undertake such BBS interactions, they really have little to gain doing so.
