New members here - supposedly Closing on our DVC resale next week. I know it takes several days to get into the Disney system, and I was told we don't get our ID cards in the mail for about a month after that.
Is there a way to get a temporary ID card so we can do DVC things like get into the Annual Member meeting, the Merry Member Mixer, etc?

If you're hoping to use it during your trip a week from now, I don't think that's going to happen. After closing all of the paperwork is submitted to DVC so that they can record the change in ownership in their records. That process is likely to take 2 weeks after your closing.

When folks buy direct on short notice, DVC has all of the information on hand and is usually willing to print temporary ID cards for pick-up at the Saratoga Springs sales center. In your case, DVC may not even have the paperwork in-hand from the closing company when your trip occurs. Even if they do have it, they tend to drag their feet in recording resale purchases. It's probably a subtle way of encouraging people to buy direct.

- not that subtle.
Thanks for the info. Guess we'll have to wait till next year for the Annual Meeting and the Mixer.

Just wanted to update this thread because this info may help others:
I called to inquire, and was happy to learn that we were in the DVC system three days after our resale contract Closed.
Once we were in the system, we stopped by the SSR Sales Center and received our temporary Member ID cards without any problem. They were very accommodating. :)
