Tell me your thoughts about "The Secret"

Rhonda Byrne, author of the Secret, has come out with a new book "The Power", I'm right in the middle of reading it. I love it!

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Hapy New Year to all!! :goodvibes

It's nice to see this thread pop up once in a while. :)

Have a great year!

I know. I like read about positive sometimes too.

By the love my New York City it was awesome.

I am so glad I saw this thread again, I need to re-read the Secret or listen to it too. Thanks, 2011 will be a great year! New job, move, and a new vehicle!

I'm so glad there are still people hanging around here! :goodvibes You ladies helped me out enormously when I was going through some pretty tough times. I suffer from depression/anxiety, and have had a couple of really tough "episodes", which I know are not only hard on me but also on my family, who sometimes bears the brunt of my bad moods. I'm now on meds steadily and have a great therapist who I really connect with, and I'm continuing to work on myself. I got a full-time job, and am moving into my own apartment starting next month. Life is looking up!

I do have a pretty serious question, though; how do you go about apologizing to people to whom you acted really horribly? During stressful times in my life, I tend to lash out at people and say things that I later regret. Now that my life is stabilized a bit, I'm able to look back on my actions and realize that yes, some of them WERE due to my illness, but a lot of the time it was me and my personality.

Thanks to everyone, and I'll be checking in a bit more regularly!:lovestruc:cloud9:

starrzone, it's good to read that you are doing so well. As for apologizing, just tell people that you're sorry that you've been so out of sorts (good catch-all phrase) and then hug them if you're close enough. I think that people will understand.

It's funny but I've been down a bit myself lately. But then earlier today I get one of the infrequent messages from Rhonda Byrnes and then I find that this thread has popped up again. OK, I get it. :)

I haven't read it. I saw the author in an interview. They asked him about bad things happening. He said it's always the person's fault. They pressed him by mentioning a little girl in FL who had been kidnapped, raped, and murdered. He said she must have done something in her life to bring that upon her.

Anyone who condones that sort of thinking is a monster.

The author is a woman. I don't know who you saw.

I thought I'd give this thread a healthy :jumping2: bumpity-bump!

I've been super gung-ho, as of late, back of the *positive* band-wagon. It's exciting, and feels good - but sometimes it's hard to keep that mind set. It takes a lot of energy - isn't that silly? It's easy to think WT*? Hard to think "I am happy!"

I found this video - and it was crazy how, after watching it, I felt really good - and all these phrases would just pop into my head. I wanted to share:

3 minutes, and worth watching - http://youtu.be/S1hQYd-9APw

How's everyone doing? :wizard:

I'm also on the positive bandwagon- but I have to agree with you- negative tends to be easier! It is bizarre.... :headache: Nice to see you!!

So glad to see this thread again! :goodvibes Everyone here was very, very helpful to me during a difficult part of my life, and I will be forever grateful. I have a job that I like, moved into a great apartment, and am working step by step to inject positivity into my life. I did find out that in addition to depression, I also have some degree of anxiety, and am now taking steps to control it. My relationship with my mother has increased in such a positive way, which is something I never thought would happen :)

I'm bumping again!!! A forceful bump!!! :Pinkbounc

I can't believe we've lost this many people to the *dark side* of thoughts, have we???? :darth: :confused3

I want to stir the excitement again, for all of us. :stir::genie:

I'm just gonna talk to myself until someone joins me....

I wanted to share my *YAY!* vision accomplished! I'd been eyeballing around for a new coffee table. I wanted a rusticy looking pine trunk.

Like this: http://www.lafuente.com/Mexican-Furniture/Rustic-Pine-Furniture/Coffee-Tables/86/

In fact, I must have went to that and this: http://www.furnitureshopuk.com/products/coffee-tables/SEC139/Seconique-Corona-Pine-Storage-Chest - website a million and one times. That's what I wanted. I kept imagining it, right there, in front of my couch.

But! I didn't really wanna spend anything on it. $50 tops! I was dreaming, right? :wizard: Not really.... I was VISUALIZING! :3dglasses

Well...check this out - Here's my new coffee table:

I'm picking it up Sunday. Found it, in the paper.:yay: OH! And it was....$50! :woohoo:

Thank you Universe! *high five* :cool1:

Thanks so much for the bump, just what I needed. I'm now visualizing my dream job and instead of thinking I might get it I will get it. Universe is teaching me some funky lessons and I love it.

I do! I do! :yay:

I have just started listening to the audiobook of The Secret. I'm finding myself completely engrossed with it. Looking back I can see how The Law of Attraction has played a role in my life, for the better AND for the worse. I am looking forward to taking my studies further!!

Neat thread. I am really interested in this topic because I do believe in the Law of Attraction to some extent.

I bought a poster board a couple of months ago to do a vision board and have not done so....might need to get going on that.:thumbsup2

Gosh, do I ever need this! I have been extremely negative lately and I HATE it!! Hopefully the "bumping" of this thread is a sign!
