Another wonderful service today at the Columbus Center for Spiritual Learning! The theme was Being in Prosperity...
I brought my girls for the first time today. The kids' class discussed respecting each other differences. I really love the positive, uplifting messages that my girls are getting by attending this church. They are already talking about going again next week.
I am so very, very blessed to have found this place, and so grateful to share it with you.
Again, it is so fabulous that you have this weekly community to go to. And even more fabulous that your kids now have this. How incredible will they grow up to be because of this supportive, teaching environment.
For me, the Tony Robbins UPW seminar was fabulous as usual. Super long days, and is always a great kick in the butt in the areas where I have to get my life in order. Spent last week working on that.
The one participant that impacted me the most from this seminar was a mom who, for various reasons, felt her life was so bad, she didn't really have reasons to live anymore. She bought a life insurance policy and was basically just waiting for the one year to be up, so that her kids would definitely get the money from the life insurance policy after she "accidentally" got killed.

She thought by
being dead, she could contribute more to her family than if she was alive.
Halfway through Day 2 (of 4 days,) she came up to Ross, our event leader, and told him her story and how the techniques Tony & the staff already had her do had so changed her life. She now knows what she has to live for, what her purpose life in is, and what she has to contribute & share with her family & others.
Ross shared that at the staff meeting later. Many of us cried when we heard. I certainly died. Even her customer service rep was humbled and cried when he found out. He knows which person it was. We actually have quite a few people in every seminar who come to Tony's events, who have either tried to commit suicide already or are seriously thinking about it. They always turn their lives around.

This particular story, maybe, because of how she planned it out, really affected me. That a precious spirit thought her life was so worthless. And she's a
mom. How her death would have affected her kids. I said to her customer service rep later, "You saved a life today!"
Another participant, on her way walking in the door to register, got a cellphone call from her doctor. The test results came in, she just found out she has cancer. A couple of people nearby heard the phone conversation. One was a fellow staffer. He knew someone coming to the event, whose wife had just gone through battling cancer, and is winning. He was able to nab that guy and finally introduce the two, who became part of her immediate support system.
The woman said she realized she was meant to be at the seminar, and to find out the results that way. I guess she made her doctor call with the results, especially if it was bad. She said, otherwise, she would have been home alone, and the news would have devastated and paralysed her. Instead, she had immediate support and techniques throughout the weekend to empower her through this now, instead of being a victim.
I can't reiterate enough: Positive thinking alone may not always be enough. If you think about it, if that was enough to change your life, wouldn't you have done it already?
I have said this in other DIS threads but not this one yet, so it's no secret, I am a licensed & certified therapist. No longer practicing, as it is personally much too draining and my life is once again moving in different, more self fulfilling directions.

I grew up being a caretaker and thought that's the role I was supposed to continue to be. But that was a role involuntarily handed to me and it isn't what I want my life to be.
Anyway, I read so many overt, cynical, judgemental, to downright malicious posts here on the DIS, I know that not everyone is living such a great life of "happily ever after" if they are filled with such venom every day. One thread turned into attacking a poster because she wanted to know if she could bring a coffee pot into her hotel room.

If any of you are using going to WDW or DL as a crutch, to get you through the rest of the year, until you can plan another trip to forget your life for 2 weeks out of the year, here and there, please learn some sort of techniques, processes & get training. Do workshops, attend a seminar of some kind, get some lasting help & support. What you
currently may be doing, may not be enough. When you know better, you will do better. Reading
alone, may not be enough. Otherwise, wouldn't librarians be the most healed & enlightened beings on the planet? Sometimes, you have to participate and
experience processes, the way Life forces you participate and experience IT. You're all Disney people, you know about going for the experiences.
Not all "therapies" are the old, traditional, once a week till you die, can opener on the brain sessions, with someone
else overseeing your progress. Some situations don't require that. We didn't do the work for that mom. She did it herself.
She changed her own life and destiny.
Several of us on this thread have listed many great resources, depending on your focus & needs.

The sharings in this thread of great happenings is wonderfully affirming for
all of us.

A little secret: You move one area of your life forward, and it will impact all the other areas of your life. You are three dimensional beings. Your sharing your progress also moves all of us forward as we all get affirmations of what's possible.
I have two friends who are going to Debbie Ford's
Exploring the Shadow workshop in Rhinebeck, NY, Sept 21 - 26, at the
Omega Institute. I've mentioned Debbie several times already in this thread. I can state from personal experience, she has phenomenal workshops. If I was going to continue doing therapy & coaching, Debbie's is the one process & direction I would be working with the most. She only comes to the east coast twice a year, this is one of the times. The other time is for the "Being Fearless" Conference, and the work is not as in depth. Otherwise, she is based out of Deepak Chopra's center in San Diego, near
Disneyland.

She is doing a workshop there November 7 - 9. It might be a great way to extend a trip down to DL and get some real,
lasting, life-changing tools & techniques under your belt, that last more than a few weeks.
Here is a sample of Debbie's
Unmasking Self Sabotage meditation. Scroll down for the second meditation. It is an excerpt of the kind of work she has at her workshops. Here are more free tools from her webpage:

Esther and Jerry Hicks, who wrote down the principles in
The Law of Attraction have a workshop also in San Diego, (maybe NOT a coincidence?

) It's on Aug 23. They will also be in Tarrytown, NY, 10/04 and 10/05 and other places:

Wayne Dyer has upcoming seminars Oct - Dec. He has a new book coming out:
Excuses Begone!

Tony Robbins has an upcoming live UPW seminar in Oct in Orlando, not far from WDW. (Again, maybe NOT a coincidence?

) Also, the seminar last week in NJ was so successful & there are so many people who want their family, friends & coworkers to get the same techniques & be on the same page, that there is a new UPW seminar scheduled in the metro NY/NJ area, Nov 13-16. It's not even listed on the website yet. There is a 50% off discount code for people who want to attend this event, or discount codes for Orlando or any of his other events. (This is NOT a referral. It is the same as an Amazon.com code or a coupon code for Staples.) PM me for the details, so we can keep this thread clear.
I found out that unfortunately, Hayhouseradio.com has become a paid membership site for the hundreds of podcasts in the archives.

Anyone can still listen for free to
live podcasts or to the current week's podcasts. Otherwise, it is $4/mo charge for membership access to
the archives. Still a great resource. Debbie Ford's current free podcast,
Embrace Your Shadow, on what it costs being a people pleaser, really hits home. Listen to it before it goes into the archives.
You might also check to see what audio books are at your local library. Mine has a website for free audio book downloads straight from the website. Even after you finish 'borrowing" the audio books, Wayne Dyer gave permission to burn his some of his audio books to a CD
to keep! Same for Louise Hay, some of Marianne Williamson's, Deepak Choprak, Dr. Bernie Siegel & others.
