Some people will tell you the principles behind "The Secret" don't work because they can't be scientifically proven.

Well...

but the bumblebee doesn't know that :ssst:
so it goes on flying anyway."

Some Tips For Maintaining Positive Energy :cool1:

Developing positive energy can become a habit if you work on it. It just takes practice. There are many things you can do to practice making positive energy your habit:

1. Begin every day with a ritual that reminds you that whatever you manifest in your life begins as a thought in your mind.

2. Remind yourself what you want to create in your life several times a day. Make this a habit.

3. Be aware of your thoughts as much as possible, and the control that you have over them. If you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop the thought and replace it with a positive one.

4. Approach your world from a mind of gratitude. Focus as much as possible on all the things you have to be grateful about. It’s impossible to experience a negative thought while you are dwelling in gratitude.

5. Develop a strong trust in the good of the universe. Expect that all your needs will be met. Strive to believe that you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

6. Think of your mind as a sacred place and protect it. Don’t allow yourself to participate in negative energy. Claim your power to remove yourself from negative discussions, relationships and environments.

7. Look for beauty in everything you encounter.

8. Think of your experience of life like starring in a movie that takes place in your mind. If you want to experience joy, think happy thoughts. If you want to create or experience something, visualize it.

I need to start copying and pasting this stuff into a word file- I could make my own little book! :goodvibes

1. Be Focused / Visualize Success

Know why you get out of bed each day. Have a plan for how you intend to reach your goals, and do not allow the "buzz" of distractions to knock you off course. See in your mind what success looks like and when you get knocked down, get back up and back on course. Nothing can give you power like a clear and focused plan to achieve.

4. Physical Activity

Be engaged in some form of regular physical activity. This not only allows you to condition your body and build stamina, but it also helps your mind stay focused. Conditioning your muscles helps you create more energy. Ever hear the expression "the more you do, the more you can do"? It is true.

I am trying to figure out how to apply all of the stuff I am learning to losing weight. I think these two are good places to start.

Anyone else successfully lose weight or just get healthier by using the principles we've been talking about?

Any suggestions or ideas? I KNOW someone has something wonderful to tell me! ;) :goodvibes

That's a fun Gratitude Dance!

To continue with the Principle of Gratitude:

From: The Daily Motivator:
Giving thanks, and expressing gratitude are very important, and it is appropriate that we set aside an entire day to focus on them. True abundance begins with gratitude and thankfulness. Being thankful focuses our attention on the things we do have, and helps those things to grow.

What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it -- would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.

Look at the things that are right with your life. Be grateful for what you have. Nurture the good things in your life. Appreciate them, and they will grow. Your life will become more abundant, the more you focus on abundance.

Simple Abundance.com/gratitude_journal:

"'Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.'
-Melody Beattie

There are [] tools [] to use as you begin your inner exploration. While all of them will help you become happier and more content and will nurture your creativity, this first tool could change the quality of your life beyond belief: it's what I call a daily gratitude journal. I have a beautiful blank book and each night before I go to bed, I write down five things that I can be grateful about that day. Some days my list will be filled with amazing things, most days just simple joys:
Mikey got lost in a fierce storm, but I found him shivering, wet but unharmed.
I listened to Puccini while cleaning and remembered how much I love opera.

Other days--rough ones--I might think tht I don't have five things to be grateful for, so I'll write down my basics:
my health,
my husband and daughter, their health,
my animals,
my home,
my friends,
and the comfortable bed that I'm about to get into,
as well as the fact that the day's over.

That's okay. Real life isn't always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us not only survive, but surmount our difficulties.

The gratitude journal has to be the first step on the Simple Abundance path or it just won't work for you. Simplicity, order, harmony, beauty, and joy--all the other principles that can transform your life will not blossom and flourish without gratitude. It you want to travel this journey with me, the gratitude journal is not an option.

Why? Because you simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you have set in motion an ancient spiritual law; the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.

I have told you that the Simple Abundance path is a transformative process. As the months pass and you fill your journal with blessings, an inner shift in your reality will occur. Soon you will be delighted to discover how content and hopeful you are feeling. As you focus on the abundance rather than on the lack in your life, you will be designing a wonderful new blueprint for the future. This sense of fulfillment is gratitude at work, transforming your dreams into reality.

A French proverb reminds us that 'Gratitude is the heart's memory.' Begin this day to explore and integrate this beautiful, life-affirming principle into your life, and the miracle you have been seeking will unfold to your wonder and amazement."

Hi everyone. I want to share something that I have been visualizing for 30 years. I have had a dream car since I was a teenager this weekend I bought it:car:

Now DH needs a new truck ;)

Well, I am really going to need this in the coming weeks...I am starting a new teaching job-at a high school, something I never envisioned that I would do. While I'm grateful to have a job (maybe I should focus just on that), I'm scared I'm going to HATE high school, and sometimes think about that over and over again. I'm going to miss my old school, and friends I had there. But in CA, with all the pink slips, my district transferred me to a high school (I'm special ed and have a math minor, so they thought I would be better used there), and I'm so sad not to be going back to my old job. I'm really trying to focus on the positive.

If you think you are going to Hate it, then you will Hate it now matter how great it really is.

I suggest every day writing one thing down that you are looking forward to with your new teaching job. Do this every day. Read back over this list every week. Also think about your high school teachers that you enjoyed. Why did you like them? Write down as many positive experiences you had with your high school teachers. Ask neighbors and relatives about their positive experiences with high school teachers. When school starts strive to be that teacher.

Once school starts, finish your day by writing at least three things that you enjoyed or were grateful for at school that day. If something goes wrong, write about it as a positive learning experience. Read over this list every week.

Collect inspirational quotes. Write a new one down each day on the board. Don't explain it or comment on it unless someone asks about it. Just write it down. The quote will be there for you and for any student it speaks to.

For some wonderful reason you are being given this task. When negative thoughts try to creep in, remind yourself that you are needed for this very important task. That this is meant to be and you will be a positive impact on your students. Just think, there may be one student who needs you to be his/her teacher at this point in his/her life. Treat this opportunity as a very precious gift.

I bought the Secret dvd and now I just need to watch it. I'm pretty jazzed about finally seeing it. :)

Enjoy.:lovestruc

MAKmom Congrats that is awesome! Good for you. What kind is it?

Just want to share something with you all..

I have been dreaming of a home with a big yard for years. I kept visualizing this and last week I stumbled upon a beautiful home in our price range with a beautifully landscaped 1/2 acre backyard! We really were not planning on moving just yet but made an offer, seller accepted and yesterday we put our home on the market.

Now we just need to sell our house and so far everything else has fallen into place so I just KNOW what's meant to be will be. :goodvibes

That's so great!!! How amazing that you just happened to find the perfect house with just the back yard you are looking for! And you jumped on it! Too cool. It's funny how many "coincidences" you see when you are actively participating in life. And that maybe those coincidences aren't coincidences at all, but just things you've attracted.

(I came to this thread to re-read some of the stuff posted... I'm feeling a little anxious today and I'm trying to focus on positivity, my blessings and things I'm grateful for, but some days are a little tougher than others, kwim? But, it's working. I'm re-reading some of the tips that have been posted and feeling a bit better. :lovestruc )
