Tell me your favorite romantic experiences at WDW

Private wishes cruise. Did that on my honeymoon and it was magical. Dressing up as Cinderella & prince charming for the Halloween party on the honeymoon was magical too but that can't happen as much anymore. Wishes cruise all the way!

DH and I went to WDW three times before we were married (we were together seven years before we tied the knot) so we still have no memories as a married couple there. The next trip is 2018 becase he is an Avatar fan and not a MK fan. OP, you will be creating memories that will live with you forever. Remember, the simplest ones can be the best. Our honeymoon was a cross country driving trip to National Parks. We pretty much "winged it". Some of our best memories are the simple laughs we got from weird spots we stopped or some silly mistake we made with our directions and got lost. Your memories will be precious and can't be re-created. Make the most of them but don't try to plan them too much. They happen...because you love eachother and you will never forget.

... Dont you make me cry!!!!!...that was really sweet!

I have a couple from my recent trip.

My boyfriend & I were on the ferry after a late night at MK. The CM standing there pointed out a rocket that was being launched after we were wondering what we were looking at so late at night. That was pretty romantic & an awesome experience.

We had a really nice night hanging out at the Poly, going to the Tambu Lounge & then roaming around the grounds by the water with a great view of the castle.

I like watching Wishes from unusual/uncrowded spots. A lack of crowds and people can feel very intimate, and encourages canoodling with your sweetie! One spot is in Fantasyland in front of Be Our Guest. The fireworks are going off right over your head, it surrounds you, and hardly anyone stands still there to watch. Another great spot to watch Wishes is from the ferry dock at the TTC. Not only is this a spectacular location for taking photos of the fireworks going off over the castle, but it can be VERY sparsely crowded, and they pipe in the music from the show.

We also like to hang out on Tom Sawyer's Island. It's a great place to grab a bench and cuddle while watching the bustling park across the river.

I agree with eating at the California Grill and watching the fireworks from the rooftop. We did that for our 1 year anniversary and it was amazing! And they gave us complimentary champagne which was the cherry on top of a romantic evening :)

We went on our honeymoon at WDW in 2009 and our favorite restaurant experience was at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. They had personalized menus for us that said "Congratulations Chris and Kaitlin" on the top and we were able to take them home with us. The dinner was OUTSTANDING, both our steaks were perfect. And they gave us free dessert with Congratulations written in chocolate sauce on the plate.

The carriage ride through POR was also very romantic. We loved it. We also enjoyed walking around the countries at Epcot and sample a different wine or beer at each country. We also had the Memory Maker so we had pictures taken at a few romantic spots in Epcot where they had us pose together and kiss and stuff. It was fun and we had the pictures to keep too.

We like doing new experiences together so on our honeymoon we did surf lessons at Typhoon Lagoon. It is at like 5 or 6am before the park opens but it's all in the wave pool with certified surfing instructors. It was so much fun and there are photographers to get action shots which was awesome! We also did the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot and got to be in the water with the dolphins and the Animal Kingdom backstage tour (I can't remember the official title)... my husband got a surprise kiss from a giraffe!

I forgot to list Yachtsman Steakhouse in our possibilities! We walked passed it last trip and DF's jaw dropped and he began drooling lol... so I promised him that will be our first meal as a married couple! Glad to hear that someone else enjoyed it! It seems very quiet and romantic

coral reef was super-busy and very tight seating... would not consider it romantic at all, we did do california grill during fireworks.... not romantic for us... we had our kids but certainly more romantic environment that coral reef.

My husband and I aren't exactly your traditional romantic types, but we loved our Disney honeymoon back in 2001. Honestly, I think you'll find some of your most romantic moments are the ones you don't plan for.

My favorite honeymoon memory is really off the wall (and I think some of ya's will think I'm a nut job, but so be it). It was our 2nd adult trip there and our first trip there alone and we wanted to say we experienced all the MK had to offer. What had we never been on? Why, the old Astro-orbiter (or however it's spelled). Is it dated? Yes. Is it exciting looking? No. But it' a ride and we'd never been on it, so we got in line. When the CM saw us she smiled sympathetically and warned us it was going to be a little tight. Sure, no problem! We were hardly swizzle sticks, but we were young and healthy and not heavy weights or anything. Uh, yeah. As soon as we squeezed ourselves into the spaceship we knew we were in trouble. When we realized just how uncomfortable this was going to be, we were off. It was the most painful amusement park ride experience of my life. It hurt, but the entire time we were cracking up through our oww's and outches and, "That's gonna leave a mark!"s. It was horrible and hilarious and a memory I wouldn't trade for the world.

Glad to know that Le Cellier can be loud- neither of us have ever been and we weren't sure of the atmosphere. May end up skipping that one! DF can get very overwhelmed and anxious without quiet breaks during the day, and for us that break is usually a nice long meal at a quiet place.
There's nothing romantic about Le Cellier at all. The tables are so close together, you could reach out and comfortably put your arm around the person at the next table. No joke.

Ever consider The Wave? Its a hidden gem, and i dont think its a loud place at all. Someone correct me if im wrong? I had one of my best meals there.

There is no view *at all* from CRT. You'll only hear the fireworks, not see any of them.
Correct. You wont be able to see any fireworks at all from inside the castle.

Just be careful out there - one of my children was conceived on a vacation at Walt Disney World!

LMAO that's where baby #4 came from for us! 2 weeks after our vacation... "Um Honey.... Yea here comes another baby." And this kid is ADDICTED to MM! His first trip (and hopefully no more babies!) will be this Christmas.

I had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table with a group of friends back in 2005 and we definitely saw fireworks. It was through a stained-glass window so it was blurred and there were a number of fireworks that were above or behind us that we didn't get to see, but we still thought it was the most awesome experience. I hope you love it as much as we did.

We honeymooned at Disney World, too. We ended up eating at Mama Melrose while we were there. They found out that we were on our honeymoon and they ended up giving us priority seating for Fantasmic. Our waitress was excellent, and the children at the table next to us were the best behaved kids we had ever seen (please and thank you, taking turns coloring together, just great kids) and we ended up sending over a note complimenting the parents and children on their behavior. Now, why on earth am I telling you this story? It was an excellent time for us and ever since then, we always make sure we go back to Mama's, do teh Fantasmic package, and try to find a family who are having a great time and buy them a dessert or something special. Mama's is "our place". We look forward to it each trip. For us, it is one of the most romantic restaurants. My suggestion would be to be on the lookout for "your" place while on your honeymoon. If you can find it, each trip after will be romantic and remind you of your honeymoon when you were just starting out, everything was new and exciting, and you had your whole lives ahead of you. We love it!

A couple of years ago, we were staying at Wilderness Lodge. My husband and I were out on the balcony when we suddenly heard the music for the Electrical Water Pageant. Our room faced the pool so we didn't get to see it. We looked forward, every night, to sitting on our balcony and listening to that music. Last year, we have a park view at Contemporary. We got to sit out on our balcony and watch the parade then and it was just great. My advice is to take a night and head over to one of the MK resorts, walk down to the beach, and enjoy the Electrical Water Pageant.

Hello! I am newly engaged (5/18/16 during Illuminations :lovestruc) and we are planning a WDW wedding and honeymoon! I am a WDW veteran, but I've really only ever been on family vacations- not much romance!! Even our engagement trip was with my parents, aunt, brothers, and fiancee's 6-year-old- so not much time for romantic things!

So what are your favorite experiences? So far I have California Grill/Wishes from the Contemporary, Cinderella's Table during fireworks, couples' massage the day before the wedding, Le Cellier, San Angel Inn, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, an evening at the Boardwalk, Illuminations Dessert Party (since we got engaged during that show! it is now very special to us) and a carriage ride at POR or FW as possibilities. I'm willing to spend a little money, but nothing too outrageous!

We will be there in December 2017 and staying at the Yacht Club.

Thanks!

I proposed to my now fiancee at the California Grill this past Valentines Day. California Grill was where we exchanged our first "I love you"s so I knew it was going to be there. I built a miniature version of an Adventure Book as a ring box. I took advantage of the California Grill proposal package, where they bring the bring box out on a silver platter with a customized glass slipper. It was fantastic.

Also, not to brag, but I took great care in customizing her ring. As Disney is all about storytelling, I felt I had to have her ring tell a story. Six diamonds on the side of the band to represent the 6 months that we talked before we dated. 2 bigger diamonds next to the 6 to represent the 2 years we dated. Another diamond next to the 2 big ones for a Hidden Mickey, and the center stone is .71 karate because Walt Disney World opened in 1971.

All the pictures I have of the ring box are too large to upload, so I'll just drop some pictures of the ring.

Honestly, I think you'll find some of your most romantic moments are the ones you don't plan for.

This is exactly what I was going to say. One of our "romantic moments" was when VotLM stopped. We were there several minutes and DH decided to take advantage of the moment and we started kissing like we were teenagers! No one could see us (except if maybe there were cameras) and it was super-sweet and fun!

We have been to CG and watched Wishes, and I would recommend it because it's kind of a "classic" couples thing to do. BUT before we went on our A-O trip, I had read a LOT of recommendations for Jiko as a place for a romantic dinner. It did not disappoint, and I would recommend it over CG for the romance factor. Sure, you don't get fireworks. But the restaurant is warmly lit and quiet (as I recall). It was fun to try a different cuisine together; many of the foods were delicious! We would likely never have the opportunity (or even had the idea) to go to an African-inspired restaurant, so it was a unique to Disney.

The other piece of advice I would offer is counter in thought to this whole board, but don't over plan! Leave plenty of room for spontaneity. Keep your expectations in check because in planning we can tend to create really high expectations which may never be met. And I guess that can include "romantic" expectations. You can plan to be in romantic settings but the moment can be ruined by a crying child or a stomach ache or rain. Try to let things unfold naturally and just ENJOY being with each other...just the two of you!

WOW! You have permission to brag! What an incredibly thoughtful ring design and proposal!!!

Not gonna lie, kinda jealous. Don't get me wrong, I love my hubby and I picked out the ring so I'm totally cool with it, but that ring is gorgeous and the thought you put into it is just so freaking awesome. She definitely got a keeper lol.

Minnie Mouse hit on me at the Disney Visa character spot in Epcot.

We married on the balcony of WL. Honeymooned the next week. One of our favorite things to do is to walk from WL to FW. Very romantic pathway (not sure how it is now with the construction going on). Also love seeing the horses and ponies at FW. Enjoy!
