This is our first trip to Universal/IOA in 12 years. Having done WDW plenty we are ready to expand our horizons. Please recommend some places to eat both in and out of parks. We are staying 3 nights at Royal Pacific. We have 3 boys ages 8,8, and 5. Please help find places they would enjoy. I appreciate all your help.

My kids (10,8) love Margaritaville. It is a fun place to eat and there are people on stilts walking around making balloon hats for the kids. My DS loves NBA City. It's all basketball and if your boys like basketball, they will love it. The kids menu there is fun too. It has a design your own jersey, match the team names with the city, and other b-ball related activities. If you are into Nascar, there is a Nascar cafe in Citywalk also.

At IOA, we like to eat at Mythos. The food is out of this world. If you are looking for something besides the normal hamburger fare, try Mythos. It's fine dining in a theme park atmosphere. Sounds weird doesn't it, but just go...it's great! The kids like to eat there because it's like you are in a cave. We also enjoyed the Enchanted Oak. We have only eaten in US once and that was at the International Food and Film Festival. Whatever you do, don't go there.

Mythos, Thunder Falls Terrace, Cafe la Bamba, and NBA City!!!!!

Finnegans at USO and Lombards as well my son loved the fish & chips also u have Louies at USO where u can buy a large pizza to share, u will be spoiled for choice so u are best to plan where u want to eat i would let everyone pick a place so that everyone is kept happy:jester:

Thanks for all the suggestions. Since Mythos is in the park, is park attire ok there? Boys don't like to dress for dinner! (haha)

Park attire if fine at Mythos. I just love it there!

Just returned from our vacation today....... Based on our experience over the past week, I'd highly recommend Mythos, Hard Rock Cafe, Confisco's Grill and Margaritaville.... Pastomore was just okay... I wouldn't really recommend the Motown Cafe...

Waahhhh! I wanna go back!!! :bounce:

Laso 82,
Could you elaborate on your experience with Motown Cafe? I have 2 $50 GCs for there, and we are planning to have friends meet us there for dinner. Was the food bad, the service, the atmosphere? Thanks.

I would definitely recommend the Motown Cafe. We love it there. But we go for the experience. It's wonderful! The food is nothing to write home about, but it's not the worse either.

GONETODISNEY;
Since you're staying at RPR, I would recommend Tchoup chop. Unless your kids are just the burger, grilled cheese, and chicken strip type, they will probably do well.
And Mama Della's at Portofino is a blast for kids. I don't know too many kids that don't like Italian food, and the upbeat atmosphere of Mama's is great.
