School year is 'officially' open, again

Sounds like the shooter’s mom is lawyering up now. I wonder what alarming things she knew about over the years and just brushed off. I bet she’s thinking that she may be charged like the Crumbley’s were charged last year with involuntary manslaughter when their son shot up a school.
Eh... anyone in this sort of situation would be smart to lawyer up. She will be questioned by police. No one should talk to the police without a lawyer.

True. She’s being smart to protect herself.
But to me, refusing to cooperate with police and hiring a criminal defense lawyer may also suggest some sort of culpability. I guess we’ll see.

Has she refused to talk to police?

Maybe she had a range of emotions and really didn't know what to do and needed space and clearer heads to help her before speaking to police.

I don't entirely disagree with where you're thinking but people are advised to get lawyers all the time if for no other reason than to have someone walk you through what you do and don't have to say and to ensure your rights are being protected. I'm not sure on the cooperating part as I hadn't heard that but that could depend on what one means. If it means you don't say anything to police without council first I don't think that is not cooperating.

I'm going to suggest that's not true. MN and CA both have the strictest gun control in the nation. Both have had incidents. There is no correlation. Mental illness however - 100% of the shooters have suffered from mental illness. Every one of them. But sure, let's make this political and blame red states. That's what Gov. Newsom did today. Doing something to do something is not the same thing as making a difference.
It must be tough to live in the only country in the world with mental illness…

Really? What part exactly was hyperbole?
That you would put what I said in relation to solutions talked about as a means to get out whatever you've got an issue with, it was blatant what my comment was about, please don't use it to air your own grievances. It turns the conversation into a whataboutism anyhow.

Won't be long now...
Truthfully while I get where you're coming from after a while that ends up being the catalyst to close down threads, baiting and commenting on how quickly the thread will get locked or moved often encourages such talk so unless that is one's goal we can just try and redirect the conversation instead.

We all do. But I rarely see a post from you praising our country even on the "good" days.
Not sure what you are asking. My ancestors help build the USA. They lived in your area for almost 300 years before heading West. They fought for the North in the civil war. I have their war papers.

Still makes me sad for the children.

More hyperbole ahead....

My grievances is with children in this country being gunned down and no one does a damned thing about it. I will air it on a threat about yet another school shooting with or without your permission.

America does still do good in the world.

No but some on here gloat about everything wrong with it. It would be nice to see more positivity from those abroad than only the negatives every minute.
It's hard for a lot of Americans to find more positivity in this country. How can we 'expect' anyone from another country to do what many of us here cannot?

Also a little tip for ya, if you hover over the username there is an option to ignore. Maybe that will make the country a little more positive for you.
