Tell me more about weather on West Coast cruises

I've never been to the West Coast of Mexico and wouldn't mind going, but I have read several comments from people who said the weather was too cold for them on the previous Mexican Riviera cruises. I did a quick weather search, and the temperatures in June didn't look that different from the Bahamas (Puerto Vallarta temps ranging from 67 to 90, Bahamas from 76 to 87). Does it just feel much colder? Or is it the water that's colder? Is it better in August? I've also read that the summer is the rainy season in Puerto Vallarta. I'd love to hear more about people's weather experiences. TIA.

I was on the July 02, 2005 West Coast cruise. The weather was fairly warm in Los Angeles but was breezy and somewhat chilly for our two days at sea. Our port days were beautiful, when we went inland it did warm up but at no time did it feel like Florida or the Bahamas in June or July. I was on Disney Caribbean cruises in both June and September and the humidity and heat was horrible...this coming from a person who lives in Arizona.

I will take the West Coast cruise over any Caribbean itinerary all day long. Yes, I will miss Castway Cay, but I do not enjoy the island unless I cruise in the dead of winter (December or January).

My personal opinion (what will not be a popular one) is that a great deal of people are dissapointed that Disney is not offering seven day Caribbean itineraries for both summer 2007 and for 2008 (two years in a row). Many have gotten used to the same offerings from DCL (Which are very stale to a number of us) and expect that Disney should stay with their standard offerings. I believe some of the grumblings (not all) are more associated with a general displeasure at this news than weather concerns. Only an opinion though...

Disney can't please everyone and seems to take the ship where the money is.

On the Aug 2005 repo cruise the weather was HOT and the HUMIDITY was high on most days we were in any port ... days at sea were much better, because obviously when the ship is moving there's a breeze that helps a lot.

We went in June and of course here we have June gloom so it was overcast and around 70 when we left. (which made the sea days breezy and cold!) But....if we are having a heat wave, then sea days would be fine. (which we had when we went last February on Carnival) June in Mexico was nice. Not too hot or humid yet.

We are some of the people who thought the West Coast Cruise was too cold and I do not think we were the only ones who thought so because the pool was not as active as it is usually is. On several sea days the decks were empty. We went in early June and are from Arizona. (For those of you who do not know by early June the temperatures in Arizona are hovering around 100 degrees in most years - so we chill easily) The weather in the ports was fine, but the water temperature was still barely at 70 degrees - so no water activities for us. The sea days were cold as I said there were very few people on deck, which meant all of the indoor activities were busier than normal. If this had been our first cruise, I am not sure DBf would ever go back. Fortunately this was our third with the other two in the caribbean and the weather was fine there (again in early to mid June).

That's true but when we first left CA, I froze for a few days. I was even cold in CA. Maybe it was just me. Who knows!:confused3

We were on the first cruise out of LA and found the sea days to be chilly and rough surf. There was no one in the pools on the second sea day because of the temps and drizzle. We weren't prepared for cool days. The days afterwards in San Diego and Anaheim were quicte enjoyable. Not too hot, not too cool.
