Are they worth the $$?
What is your true size and what size do you wear in the Dansko's?
Have you ordered them online and ever have a problem with fit?

Thanks!
Kathy

I have 2 pairs.

1. Black Dansko Pro. I bought it "in person" (not online) at a Nordstrom. The sales guy told me to try on several pairs, because the sizing varies by pair. I typically wear a size 7 or 7.5 and I tried on maybe 6 or 7 pairs in sizes 37 and 38 before settling on a pair in size 38.

They are WONDERFUL! I wear them almost every day. I wore them on a 3 day trip to NYC where we literally walked all day, every day from about 7 am-10 pm or later. I wore them on a trip to China and even climbed the Great Wall in them. Best shoes I've ever owned.

2. Black Dansko Coquette. I bought these online at Nordstrom.com. I bought them in size 38 since that is what my other Danskos are. I mostly wear these in the summmer with a cute sundress/skirt. Very comfortable.

I will gladly tell you how much I LOVE mine. Yes they are worth the money. The day that I bought mine my back was hurting just walking around the mall (I had no intentions of getting Dansko's this day) and My grandmother wanted some new shoes, so we went into the store (I forgot the name of it) and she said "why don't you try these on, I bet your back will feel better" I said there is NO WAY I am paying $115 for a pair of shoes..... She then offered to buy them as my Christmas/Birthday present. I tried them on, walked around for about 30 minutes in them and my back STOPPED hurting.

So, are they worth the money - YES!!!! I will gladly pay $115 for my next pair. ( and I don't normally pay more then $20 for shoes)

Oh, and I normally wear an 8 1/2 and my Dansko's are a 38. It does take a couple of days to get used to wearing them, they don't fit like any other shoe.

Ok thanks! I normally wear a size 6, but have a very narrow foot. Lately when trying on a size 6 in stores they are too big:confused3 6pm.com has them on sale today with free shipping. I bought the Kelsey style for $48 in a size 36 (5.5-6). I'm really hoping they fit. I know they are supposed to be a little big (meaning they should slip in the back a little). But I think the 37 would be too big. Can't wait to get them, hopefully they will help in alleviating some of my back pain.

I am a nurse and there are a lot of people who sear by Danskos. I tried them and HATED them. They were heavy and hard and I felt like I was shuffling around all day. I bought them at Nordstrom and tried on several pairs, even several that were the same size felt very different, I do not recommend buying them site unseen. I tried to get used to them, never did, way to hard and heavy for me.

A lot of nurses also swear by Alegrias, they have the memory foam in the bottom. I hated those too! A little too soft for me, my feet need more support.

I prefer Sketcher Shape Up (the professional ones with the non skid bottom) and New Balance.

I won a pair in a raffle. I got to pick them out, and try them on, at a store. For me, they didn't work. It felt like I was wearing blocks of cement.

Turned them into cash on e-bay. :cool1:

Love mine! They do take some breaking in though. I work in healthcare and most people hate them if they just put them on and try to work a 12 hour shift. I have plantar faciatis (sp?) and they are wonderful for that. I have six pair and I do better if I don't wear the same pair day after day.

I have never bought on-line, but have been tempted to at 6pm because they have some awesome deals. We have a local store that does 20% off coupons throughout the year and that is when I usually get mine. Today they had 30% off, but I don't need any right now.....but I WANT some red ones.

They are totally worth the money. I am still wearing some that I bought over 4 years ago and you cannot tell the difference in them and a new pair.

there is a lot of inconsistency in the Dansko sizing. I have several pairs, so I've been through it. My podiatrist recommends Sanitas--I already have 2 pair of them. Their sizing is more consistent and they are made in Europe vs China. Sanita shoes are narrower compared to Dansko. I normally wear a size 9 for all my shoes and for Sanita I am a 40. I recommend buying a pair locally (or trying on locally) and then after that, getting them online. I like 6pm.com ;)

Danskos were actually made by Sanitas before Dansko decided to change manufacturers and move manufacturing to China to save money. I have a pair of Sanitas that I LOVE, but I haven't been wearing them while I'm pregnant because I tend to be a klutz and my clogs tend to magnify that!

Worth every penny! I have a size 6 narrowish foot, and I had to go with the Sanitas. The are a little narrower than Dansko's, but essentially the same shoe. You can also get Dansko narrow sizes at the Walking Company and Zappos. You will not regret your purchase!:lovestruc

I found a brand new pair at Good will- I like them ok, but not awesome. I'd be mad if I bought them new...they look nice, and are fairly comfortable.....

I have several pair and I loved them until I found zcoils. I love my zcoils! They are odd looking and I get lots of comments on them, but they really help my back!

I love mine. I'm normallly inconsisent in shoe size, anywhere from an 8.5 to a 10 depending on width and style. I have a 39. I went locally and tried them on.

I'm a teacher who works in a building with no elevator.. so I usually do about 30 flights of steps a day between classess and such.

I have the professinal pro cabrio in black. I am always getting compliments on them. At first they felt clunky-like Frankenstein feet- but they got better.

I don't usually spend a lot of money on shoes so these were a big purchase. I got these for $90 at a local small shoe business which was having a promotion.

I'd love more of them! I looked at the Dansko boots but at $268 I'll just look!

You must try them on. Do not order them online. I tried on 10 pair... some were at least a size too big and some at least a size too small even though they were all sized the same. Have a salesman verify that the pair on your feet fits correctly. Most people who don't like them do not have the right fit shoe on. I love mine and I hope you do too!

Hi everybody, OP here. Thanks for all your replies/comments !! I went ahead (contrary to some comments about trying them on) and ordered them thru 6pm.com. (I couldn't pass up the price.) These are the ones I purchased:http://www.6pm.com/dansko-kelsey

I must have lucked out because they fit perfectly. The slide a little in the back and are very comfortable !!! I am so happy with them. :)
