I am planning a down day. Heading to Circle D Ranch in the afternoon, dinner at Trail's End Buffet, and the Chip -n- Dale movie at Fort Wilderness. I am a little worried though...I found somewhere on a board that compared it Shoney's. IS that true? May be the poster was referring to the pricing and not the quality of food. Does any one have feedback on their overall experience there?

Shoney's??:confused3 No way!! Trail's End is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is very good and you just can't be the price. Many people think it's the best deal around WDW.:thumbsup2

Dinner at Trails Ends is better than lunch b/c you get ribs and shrimp with the other stuff, but either is great & they're both a bargain. (One of the workers also told us that it's the same food as the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue b/c they share a kitchen- but you get more from Trail Ends for 1/3 of the price.)

:thumbsup2
It's been a long time since I've had dinner at Trail's End
BUT I always go there for a breakfast on each trip.
Good Food-Good Price!!

:thumbsup2 We really enjoy trails end- have done breakfast and dinner, food is good, filling not fancy. And Ft. Wilderness it is a nice get away.

Extremely overrated. Its difficult to get to if you drive or bus there as you have to take an in-resort bus to get there

The food is OK, but its basically KFC chicken and a poor salad bar. For dessert, chochlate chip cookies and rice krispie treats. For the price, they have got to be joking.

I had heard great things about this place and was sorely disappointed. We also had people who had been there before and we also disappointed. Apparently, they used to have some good chicken and biscuits that is now gone

I'd rather word not get around about trails end. ;) It's getting harder and harder to get in there for dinner w/o an ADR. By disney standards, it is the best meal around considering price and variety of food. If you go, say hi to Ken, he's their best server and has worked there for 30 years!

That is one of our most favorite meals of all at Disney. We always plan it as our first and last meal of our stay (also easy to get to because we stay at the campground). It does not have a wide variety of food but what they do have it good. I am a very picky eater and I never leave there hungry. I am not a big fan of chicken but they have the best fried chicken in the world.

I think the main part of the meal has alot of variety, especially at dinner but they DO lack in desserts. They have an apple crisp type dessert, a few cookies and muffins. they need some jello or puddings or something else. there is also softserve ice cream that alot of people never notice. i just had lunch there the other day and am having lunch and/or dinner in a few more weeks when we stay at the fort for two weeks. Relaxing on the rockers outside with a sweet tea cannot be beat either!
