With the discounts now on, I was just curious and had a wee look :rolleyes1

We're not long back from HNY and I really cannot justify a lot of money on another Disney trip (I want to get my kitchen done)

So.....DS1 mentioned he might not come with us next time which initially shocked me, but I'm now thinking it might work in my favour as we won't need 2 rooms. Then I began thinking back to our October trip and that we did not spend much time at all in the hotel, unlike summer when we nip back frequently.

I know that the Santa Fe has been refurbed, and is looking nice with Cars theme which DS2 absolutely loves. I've seen many pictures of the corridors etc, but does anyone have some pictures of the hotel rooms? I'm just looking for an idea of space, and decoration.

Also - what's breakfast generally like in terms of crowds etc?

I sneekily just looked at flight prices and can get 2 ad and 2 ch for only £72!!! Though this is to Beauvais, so would need a private shuttle to transfer.....

I'm really trying to work this out - budget style - so any help you can give would be great :goodvibes

Hi! Me and my friend stayed at Santa Fe in June there and loved it! We stayed in one of the blocks right beside the river and the room had recently been refurbed :thumbsup2 Heres a picture of our room :)

Breakfast is quite busy depending on what time you go at. Over the three mornings we had two 7am slots (and it was perfect then not too busy or anything) and one 7:30am slot which was busier and it was harder to find a table but it wasn't too bad. Once 8am came there was a queue just to get into the restaurant :scared1: so avoid that time!!

Hope it all works out :goodvibes I'd love to be going back!!

I love the Santa Fe Julie :goodvibes.

Go for breakfast before 7.30am, or don't bother (you don't get seated by a waiter at either the Santa Fe or Cheyenne restaurants, so you have to bag your own table). The breakfast food is fine, but its all continental - I prefer not to get up so early for breakfast, so we ask for breakfast in the parkn at 9.15am instead, or go to Salon Mickey at 9am for a croissant and a coffee :).

The rooms are slightly smaller at the Santa Fe than at the HNY.

Julie the beds are so comfy!!
Would agree re brekkie, get there early or just go to SM!
Once ive done all the hotels (like my plan??!!) i would be better able to answer but SF trumps Cheyenne IMO. Id put it on a par with the Newport but its darker whereas NPB is lighter if you get me.
We enjoyed our stay in the SF.

sorry to hijack this thread but can you have your breakfast at salon mickey instead of the santa fe and this is included in the price?

Thanks

only if you are a shareholder - its the exclusive shareholders lounge at the entrance to the main park. Its not a replacement for breakfast, but you can have a hot drink and a pastry/cookie there if you are a shareholder and don't fancy breakfast at your hotel.

we stayed in the sante fe in 2009 ( before it was refurbished ), it's a great place if all you're after is a place to sleep which is what we wanted. It's not the best looking 'complex' and is basic but it has comfortable and clean rooms.

The only down side to the sante fe is the large queues for breakfast which is quite a pain if you've got hungry young children. We were a bit sneaky and avoided the queue by going through the exit once or twice :rolleyes1 but we found that a lot of poeple seemed to be doing this.

This a great hotel if you're on a budget.

stayed here on first trip and it more that met expectations. we only wanted a bed and bathroom and it ticked all the boxes. obvioulsy the furthest hotel from the parks so we were reliant on the buses to get us to and from the parks but staying in October, once we were out, we were out for the day!

i remember the beds being the comfiest ever but I was shattered every night!

breakfast was a scrum but restaurant is a good size and moves quickly.

We've just come back from the Santa Fe, it was our first DLP holiday so no other hotels to compare it to but we were very happy with it. Nice room with two double beds (identical to the picture above), nice clean bathroom, big TV, etc. We only slept in there to be honest but I couldn't really fault it.

The breakfast choices were:
cereals, diced fruit, plain yoghurt, bread rolls, croissant, choc brioche rolls, cheeses, cold meats, hot drinks, apple/orange/grapefruit juice, milk.

I went just me and DS so I would sit him at a table while I got our food as it was a bit chaotic with people getting food (we went early each day) and DS is autistic and found this area a bit overwhelming but was fine sat at the table.

The walk from hotel to park was fine too, about 10 mins along path running alongside the river. I got the shuttle bus once and would never ever repeat the experience.

I would say it would be ideal if you are on a budget. HTH :goodvibes

Come on Julie! The suspense is killing us!! We want to know what your plan is :goodvibes

I'm trying not to come one here because I really don't think we'll be booking for October this time :sad1:

Too many other things going on I'm afraid - but we have been this year so I have absolutely nothing to complain about :goodvibes

Roll on 20th anniversary..........I want to go back sooooooo much - does this feeling ever go away ;)

:hug:Nope..it doesn't! I'm still trying to come to terms with not going at all this year...only keeping sane by the knowledge that we will be going next June. Know how u feel!!
