Southern California Tell me about Shelter Island

Can you tell me about Shelter Island? Looking at the Best Western Island Palms? Is it a quick drive into San Diego?

It's maybe a mile north of the airport and downtown SD is about a 1/2 mile south of the airport. So you are very close to downtown.

Shelter Island is GREAT! As mentioned above, it's a great location--plus great Southern California Tiki Architecture. Humphrie's, Bali Hai (great drinks and food...and views!), Trader Mort's....

I think you will be happy staying there.

We have reservations at the Best Western Island Palms for August and can't wait! Seems like a quiet place to relax and enjoy the views after being out and about touring all day.
