I am 14 and will be going back to Disney in June. Our last trip, I was 11 and didn't really care about what my hair looked like. I want it to be back out of my face and it needs to be easy and quick to do. Does anybody have any ideas for cute hair in only a few minutes? Thanks!

our dd 14 too wore her hair up in a pony tail/ sloppy bun most of the trip. She has long curly hair. This was quick and easy for her and she looked cuted.

I don't know if this would be in you budget or not, set an appointment at the grand floridian spa to have braids put in. The turn out very cute They last at least a week, sometimes more even with swimming

Welcome to Dis! (You might want to try out the Teen boards.)

I know what you mean.... I typically wear my hear in a high ponytail, but recently I've realized that this doesn't look so great in pictures. Try half-back. Straighten your hair (I can straighten my thin, wavy hair in 5 minutes, but it takes my thick, curly-headed friend up to half an hour! If you have curly hair, don't worry about straightening - embrace the natural look) and pull the top back. If you're really pressed on time, pull the top back, then straighten the bottom.

If you have longish hair you can pull it into a high ponytail, don't pull the ponytail all the way through. Leave is like a floppy loop. The you take those small clips (like tiny butterfly/jaw clips) and you flatten the loop in the middle so the hair spreads out like a bun. Put the clips all around the edges of it like a crown of sorts. It looks very cute, it holds it all in and it take all of 5 minutes.

I use a large jaw clip, twist my hair, flip it and clip it. Super easy and very quick and if/when I want to wear my cap I just take it down and clip the clip to my bag strap. :) My hair is very fine so it tangles very easily so I like to put it up. :) I also do 2 side ponys or braids. :)

I don't have daughters of my own so I don't know what current styles are but I have had long hair for years (okay decades) and only recently cut it short as a result of chemical damage. Before that I used to wear my hair in a french braid a lot. They always look nice. You can start at the very front of your head or at the back near the crown, depending upon how tight you want it and how long your hair is. It will keep hair back out of your face and with practice can be done in about 3 or 4 minutes. I got to the point that I can french braid my hair without looking in a mirror.

Another trick is to pull hair back in a pony tail or braid, attach a ponytail holder at the top. Take a cool beaded necklace or looped ribbon (you could also try a thin strip of disney themed fabric stitched in a loop) and wrap the necklace or ribbon around your hair like it is an elastic leaving gaps so that it will go the length of your hair. Twist and pin the pony tail with bobby pins.

Hi! I'm 26 so i don't know how much I know about trendy hair LOL but I hair medium length hair about an inch past my shoulders. i have thin wavy hair that's easy to straighten but frizzes as soon as i get in the humidity. Also, I have those sweeping side bangs and it bothers me if they get wavy. So I try to straighten it and hope it last at least part of the day. then I put it in a high pony tail or sloppy bun(make a pony tail but don't pull it all the way through. If it rans or the humidity gets to my bangs, I use a thin head band that has the little teeth. That way it holds my very fine hair back out of my face.

HTH!!

:welcome: to the DIS! I would throw it back in a sloppy bun thing, it takes 2 seconds and ends up looking cute!

OK so my DD is 4 and I haven't been 14 for awhile now but how about pulling it up into high pony tails and making sloppy buns kinda like a knock off of Minnie ears? Maybe tie red/white polka dot ribbon or some other "Disney" colors?

Just an idea! The vision in my head is cute:flower3:

Search quick and easy school hair on youtube-there are some great ideas there.
I do ponytail, pigtails, bun. In addition to elastics, I pack my flexi8 clip-great for twists/half up half down. I wouldn't bother straightening-the humidity is crazy. (true story-last august I put my hair in a ponytail early in the morning, and it was still damp when I took it down at 5pm. :scared1:

Try a low side-pony... don't pull it tight though.

You will be able to see it so you won't look like you're bald in the pictures, but it will be out of the way.

True story, this is me every day. LOL I shower every morning and wear my hair up in a clip (like I said above, (I wear a headset at work and my hair gets tangled in the headset because it's so fine) and every night at 11 when I'm getting ready for bed my hair is still wet in the middle.

I think this updo is super easy & would look really stylish for a 14 yr old.

Look back in pictures I hated how my hair looked ina ponytail. I cut it off for the second trip just a little above my shoulders. Much easier.

Can someone tell me, in very simple terms, how to do a messy bun? Mine never look right. I have really thin hair, I guess that could be the problem?

Basically, I just put it in a ponytail, and pull it partway back through the elastic. I looked at the link for the Loose Bun, but I got confused with the "then loop the ends through the elastic" at the end.

Help for this hair-challenged mom of two boys???

Here's the method I used (the second one). It takes me two elastics, though.
