Hello first of all from SSR. Obviously I have no problems geting online. The problem is I use OE6 for my mail, and I receive email just fine, but I can't send. I tried every configuration I can think of, and can't seem to send out. I called tech support, and they said their responsibility ends with getting me on the internet. :sad2: Well my wife and I both need to send emails for our jobs. HELP!! Please

Sounds like they might be blocking traffic on port 25, which is done frequently these days to curb spam problems.

Does your ISP have a webmail product that you could use to access your messages via a browser? If so, you should be able to communicate in that manner.

If not, consider setting up a temporary address with a free service like hotmail.com or yahoo.com.

Yup, That's probably what it is. I did use the webmail version. It's just a pain because all my addresses are in my address book. Oh well I can work through it. Thanks tjkraz!

You're welcome. Just another way that the spammers make our lives miserable.

I'd say "enjoy Spring Training", but most coaches I know won't admit to enjoying such things. Everything is to be taken seriously, right? ;)

Let us know what you thought of SSR when you get back. :sunny:

Another option is to set up a hotmail account, and then add it as an account in Outlook Express. After you do this, when you go to send a message, you should have a drop-down choice in the "Send" box and be able to select your Hotmail account. It will route the message through the Hotmail server - this lets you send messages using OE, and your address book, etc.

Also - when you add your Hotmail account to OE, set the "Reply to" address as your regular (non-Hotmail) email address. Then, even though you're sending your messages through Hotmail's server, when people reply, you'll receive the message at your non-Hotmail email address via OE.

Clear as mud??? Hope it helps somewhat. :)

I didn't think Hotmail offered POP3/SMTP access on their free accounts... :badpc:

Hi there. I can access my Hotmail account using OE, without any problems. And my Hotmail account is free...I'm too cheap to upgrade to Hotmail Plus. You're right though...Hotmail advertises POP3 access as one of the benefits of upgrading from a free account to Hotmail Plus. But...I tried it with my plain 'ol free Hotmail account, and it seems to work fine. :confused3
