Hey, I enjoyed reading your trip report and looking at the lovely pictures. You guys are a lovely family and it looked like you had a great time. Looking forward to reading more. :)

Thanks! We are definitely blessed with two great kids!

I love her tiara and dress very fancy. I am sorry you wife didn't like CRT. The breakfast is much better.

Jeanine

Oh, she liked it....she just said that it wasn't as good as the WONDERFUL meals we had at some of the other restaurants. The food wasn't bad or anything, it was fine....just not spectacular!

Just perfect for a girl her age at CRT. Please tell your DD that I love her shoes! I want my own pair!

Hahahaha...thanks, Heidi! I'll tell her!

The pics of your daughter and Cindy are adorable! I probably would have inhaled the chocolate crown too! Looks like the two ladies had a wonderful dinner!!

They did have a wonderful dinner! It is an experience they will never forget...and I'm sort of glad that we let it be a "girls only" thing.

Loving your TR can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Welcome aboard!

Truly enjoying your report. Your pics of DD & Cinderella are precious!:thumbsup2

The professional picture that you get with the meal was even better! When I get a chance I want to scan it in, so I'll have it digitally. Thanks!

Can't believe I missed the fact you updated!
I love the tiara! You DD looks fantastic and like she really enjoyed herself, sorry the food wasn't as good as your DW expected but as she says, she got to eat in the castle which isn't an everyday occurence!!! :rotlf:

Thanks! She LOVED the tiara. DW said the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as some of the other incredible restaurants we had on the trip. Overall, she would DEFINITELY recommend the experience.

I am so loving this report.
I love that you all did a mother/daughter father/son dinner.
Very cool.

Thanks, Teri! I'm glad that it worked out to have a "girls only" dinner and a "just guys" dinner. It meant a lot to my DS that he and I got to spend some one-on-one time together...and I'm glad DW & DD got to experience Cindy's Castle together.

Too bad about the pyramid during your stay...that's a bummer! I've got lots more pool pics left to come, and some pretty goods ones of the Jaquar Slide.

DW said the meal was actually just fine, but since you use 2 table credits on the DDP I think it was not just outstanding or anything. We did not make our reservations for Disney until early February, so we were overjoyed that we got a CRT reservation for ANY meal! I'm just glad she got to do it!

While DW & DD were headed for Cinderella's Castle for dinner, DS & I decided to go get fastpasses for Space Mountain since we were a little early for our 5:15pm reservations at Tony's Town Square. We took a few pictures along the way:

We got our fastpasses and decided to hop aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, since there was no line whatsoever. After riding TTA, we headed back down Main Street to Tony's Town Square for dinner.

From the very beginning when we started planning our WDW trip, DS had requested that we eat dinner at Tony's. I actually tried to talk him into eating somewhere else, but he really wanted to eat at Tony's. I figured, "why not," afterall, DD was eating at the castle! He should be able to choose where he wants to eat tonight!

What a treat Tony's turned out to be! DS & I both LOVED it!

This picture makes it look like the place is empty, but it was only 5:15pm. By the time we left around 6:40 or so, the place was PACKED! The Magic Kingdom had an EMH that evening, and people started pouring into the park in the afternoon.

I think a major part of what we liked about this place was the cool vibe it has. It was just perfect for our "guys only" dinner.

Next up - Tony's Town Square review

Sounds like a wonderful day was to be had by all :goodvibes , your DD look's adorable all ready for her dinner date at CRT. We ate there on our 1st morning last year and we all really enjoyed it ::yes:: . It also looks as though your DS enjoyed his 1 to 1 time;), this is something that I think is really special

As stated in the earlier post, DS & I really enjoyed our meal at Tony's Town Square! It was basically a step above the Olive Garden, only with a really cool, Disney-esque atmosphere. The Lady & the Tramp theming is awesome.
Based on food quality, value, service, and atmosphere, I would give it an 8.8 out of 10.

Our server was terrific. His name was Casey and he was from Boston, I think. Anyway, he and my son were chatty throughout the meal. DS thought he was the best server we had all week. He was great with making suggestions, filling our drinks, and staying attenative to the larger group from the U.K. sitting behind us.

I had looked over the menus for all of our restaurants on the allearsnet site prior to our trip, and I had my heart set on the spinach & artichoke dip. Unfortunately, they had changed the menu and the spinach & artichoke dip was no longer on it. They did have a "Tastes of Italy" antipasto plate that said, "serves two." I asked our server if it would be possible to get that plate for just one. He said, "absolutely!" He said he wished they would have stated that a single person could order that item. Anyway, that is what I ordered for my appetizer and it was wonderful!

DS had never eaten calamari, but he's a big fan of all the seafood he has tried so far in his 11 years. He decided to order it. Our server told him that there was an olive relish that usually comes on top of the calamari, but that he would make sure to bring it out on the side just in case he didn't like it. When the plate came out, the olive relish wasn't on the side, it was on the calamari. The server apologized sincerely and offered to take it back. DS decided he like the olive relish...so we kept it as it was served.

As with everything else so far, he devoured it!

For our entree, DS said that Tony's was "famous for their spaghetti and meatballs"....so that is what he ordered. The meatballs were overcooked, but the pasta was perfect. After eating most of that HUGE plate of calamari, DS couldn't finish the spaghetti. I tried it and it was very tasty....but the meatballs were definitely overcooked.

I had the catch of the day, which was grilled salmon. It was cooked to perfection and provided a nice alternative from my usual beef-like ways. The asparagus was fresh and crispy. The glaze over the fish was sweet and tangy. This was a nice, well-cooked, healthy meal.

Disneypics029.jpg

For dessert, I had the chef's special dessert. I forgot what it was called, but it had chocolate and expresso beans. If you look closely, you can see the Lady & the Tramp chocolate powder stencil on the plate. That was cool! I ate every last bite of this dessert, even though I was stuffed already.

DS had the Ice Cream Bomb. Even though he didn't finish his pasta because he was so full, do you think he ate this? You guessed it....he devoured it. When our server asked him, "how did you enjoy your ice cream bomb?", DS told him, "it was Da Bomb!" (He's 11 and a little comedian in the making!)

Overall, we had an awesome father-and-son dinner at Tony's. We left our server about a 30% tip for such wonderful service. When we go back to the Magic Kingdom, DS & I will make it a tradition for us to eat at Tony's together.

:yay: Encore :yay: I must say that of all the trip reports I have read, I have enjoyed yours so very much. The pictures made it so enjoyable and I have really felt like I got to go along without leaving my computer chair.. Thank you so very much.

I'm loving you TR! I love the picture of your DW giving the kids bunny ears in front of the MK! So great your family has a sense of humor!

I actually teared up looking at your beautiful DD in her dress and tiara and pearls!!! Sooo nice that you had your mother daughter and father son meals!

Sooooo True about children not finishing their meals, but managing a dessert ;) , my 2DD's are just the same.....::yes:: , I have to say your meal looked lovely, I wish my eldest ate like yours, what a pleasure he must be to take out and eat with :goodvibes

I like how your family split for the meals so that there could be some girl time and guy time at the appropriate places. I bet your DS has tried a greater variety of food than I have, even at my age now!

I'm very impressed with the different kinds of foods your DS tries, reminds me of my boy at that age.;)

I've just started reading this, you write a great TR! :) Your family is just lovely, and it looks like the fun has only just started. Can't wait for more!
