DOOD's return home has interrupted by schedule....Love him, but he's getting on my last nerve.
Bad time to post, asking for updates, as the 4th of July weekend is upon us, but...I need your June numbers. There are too many cousins to individually name, so I'll call out just the
DOOD. DOOD, you need to give me your numbers for the second half of June. You have a Garmin, the one I bought you, remember? No excuses.
We've got quite a GOOFY group here!

I'll probably be hanging out more on the Goofy thread as training picks up, here, but I expect to be asking lots of my cousin questions too. Here's who I have so far from the cousins. (I'm keeping a list of races on the first page of our thread, too. Check it out and let me know what need to be added/corrected.)
Going Goofy:
JenB & Butch (should I call him Butch, DH, or his name?)
Jackie & Bill
Mel (Is Jeff doing a race?)
Jackie: Congratulations on going Goofy and for the time at POFQ. I can't believe you're diving in feet first like that! Woo hoo! Your Galloway group must be so proud!!! (Me, too!)
Julie: Congratulations on the marathon! Just the motivation you need for training. Yay for OKW, too! Also, you could come do the Baltimore 1/2 with me....
Richard: Congratulations on the tri. I don't think I said that (here) earlier. I love the detail about the Statue of Liberty... About Goofy. You'll have more money for more races if you don't do it. (Of course, I want you to go Goofy, but am trying to argue against my selfish reasons.)
I think those are great prices, given your background. I haven't flown Continental in a long time, but I really like Southwest as a carrier. Still, if Continental is at the closer airport that is what I'd chose. Yes, for certain events convenience is everything for me. DOOD does the same thing with the swim/running shorts. Very convenient. I'm not at the point where a bathing suit could double as running gear for me. But think how easy it would be to rinse my clothes after running. Just hop in the pool and then the shower!
Maura: With your fabulousness in terms of running and with your recent tri event, I think you can justify "just" walking on vacation. Congratulations!
Vicky: I love the Ziplocs. Never occured to me that coming here would be a good reason to shop. (You deserve an outlet trip soon, too, for some new clothes.

) I like the idea of putting your stinky clothes in DF's suitcase. Just my $.02
Maria: Yay for working out 3/5 days while on vacay! That's great. And for pencilling in your WO. That seems like a good plan to me. If your DH were my DH, though, he might have to die. I'm not a very peaceful morning person.

See my above post to Julie. Come to Baltimore.
Betsy: I might be PMing you soon, with travel-exercise questions. Of course, I'm dying to know what you do that keeps you on the road so often, but that's not relevant. I will say I'm impressed by how you keep up your training & event schedule with your heavy travel schedule. Extra socks are a great tip--I never think of needing them. And thank you for the Spigo brand recommendation--just the kind of information I need.
I've only recently begun to pony up for the gym fees when I travel, but I tend to agree with you--it can be so worth it. I, too, am a big fan of RoadID. Never would have thought to look up the local running club's website. Great idea!

Do you find yourself sticking with "safe" running routes or the TM, or shifting when you run. More questions, but I have to think/organize them.
Jack: I'm so sorry to hear about the accident with the bicyclist. I think letting people know where you're going, that you're going out, might be something to think about. A packet of Tide, huh? Have you seen the new liquid detergent gels? I have some that I'm thinking of trying.
Jeanne: Your marathon weekend plans sound blissful and very well-organized. Even without doing the 1/2 or full, you've managed to jam-pack your time in. Even more than if you were on the course, I think. Maximum WISH time.
JenB: I hadn't read about your saga!

That's disappointed about DU's advice and how the packages fell through. I've never dealt with them, but it's not what I would have expected. Yay for GETtravel, though. What a lucky break!
As for me: Our happy household is now together again, and learning how to function again, not so happily. (Okay, the cats are ecstatic DOOD is home, so at least someone is happy.) We're trying to decide whether to make a last-minute trip out of town to visit DOOD's GM, as she's been sick. Bear with me if I'm not around.
