Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Sitting in the theater waiting for The Muppeta to start. I have seen it, Alan hasn't. We got our annual passes renewed and ate a light lunch at House of Blues. I don't know if I will make the hamburger noodle casserole tonight. I am sure I will figure something out.

Oh did anyone hear about the Obamas being at Magic Kingdom today? I can imagine that park is probably crazy right now.

:cool1:That's awesome!

Just trying to catch up kind of quickly....

Well--long story short daughter made another suicide attempt early Mon. morning. We're in Oregon and she's in Albuquerque N.M. so I had to make some tough decisions which involved a welfare check, and tracing her calls to eventually get a hold of her through a friend. Spent the whole day not knowing if she was alive or not...she is finally signing her divorce papers though so I think she's finally bottomed out. Spent several hours talking to her, trying to help. I dunno-- she's 23 and this frankly, is getting old. I think she needs meds. Thanks to Obama she's on my insurance...I know they help me.

I've been waiting until later to drink anything--the later I wait the less I drink.

Hugs to you! I hope and pray that everything goes OK. I've experienced this with my twin sister.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

DUH.. thank you lol! That was driving me insane! I came up with some funny NSV answer!!

I have looked at those chips a few times but passed them by..not sure why now that I think of it as I LOVE carbs, and 27 is a huge serving compared to other snacks! How are the sour cream ones?? I LOVED the sour cream mini rice cakes, but my store no longer sells them :(

[/B]

They are fabulous, in my opinion. They taste like really good chips.

Mickeys, I have had a terrible week. Last week was awesome and I hot the gym 6 times. This week, I went to the gym ONCE and one day of roller skating.

I have been moody and weepy and craving yucky food. I have stayed within my calories, but it has been the hardest thing ever to do!

I pretty much had an emotional breakdown today on my DBF and I am still not sure why the heck that happened!

I'm having a sad this week and I hate it!i don't think I have gained anything and by calories alone I should lose at least a pound by tomorrow, but I do not feel a pound less.

I should be getting my friend tomorrow or Saturday, so I'm terrified to weigh myself at all! Not to mention, I pinched a nerve 3 nights ago and it has been a literal pain in my neck and lower portion of the back of my head. Then to top it off, I had the start of a crown put on today...oof.

OK.. I'm done whining!

Another question I have is, Melinda mentioned special k crackers as a yummy snack, what other low cal snacks do you all enjoy? I've kinda had an OD on 100 cal pop corn lol!

Thanks for listening Mickeys! Wish me luck with getting to the gym tomorrow!
Girl, I'm with you!!! I feel like I have had a very similar week.

Hi, Maria, I'll answer tonight while I'm still coach for 2 more hours, lol:rotfl:

I would love it in the Finding Nemo section. Because I am very Dori-like--I guess because I have a lot going on in my life between my teaching job, kids' schools & kids' needs, dad & his needs, house, church, gym, etc.... Plus I LOVE the Nemo musical at AK, we see it whenever we're there. Cool question!

I HAVE to report an NSV today. I've been jogging at a run 1 or 2 min/walk 1 minute interval for 30-35 min. I'd cover a little over 2 miles doing that including the warm up & cool down (like a 14.5 min mile). Today I was wiped out. Didn't want to go to gym. But did. And on the treadmill, as I started my first "run 1 minute," I just sort of decided to see how long I could run for. Slowed the TM down a notch or two and cranked the DIS podcast and just went. 10 minutes. 15 minutes! Ok, maybe I'll just try to get to 20 min. Um, I'm at like 1.6 miles, maybe I'll just see if I can get to 2 miles... And I did! I ended up jogging with no walk breaks for 25 minutes! :yay::banana::cool1::woohoo::dance3:Took a 1 minute walk break, ran the last 4 minutes, and cooled it down for a few min.

A little peeved that I burned fewer calories than run/walking though:rolleyes1 but gratified to see that my little run 1 or 2/walk 1 is paying off!

Thats so awesome! Mind over matter! Woooo hoooo!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Happy Friday Team! Well I just got off the treadmill, I completed 2 miles and sitting here mustering up some energy to get ready for work and step on the scale. I have a semi veg out weekend planned, but really want to get the courage up to try a spin class at the new gym not far from me. I used to love spin at my old gym, but starting a new class with new people is hard! Have a great day everyone!

QOTD: I would probably choose to be in The Lion King section or Little Mermaid. I love the colors and music of both so it would be hard to pick a favorite.

Off to a good start this morning. I did actually get up and work out. It was 20 minutes later than planned so I only did the 2 mile WATP. I had thought about going to bed at 8:30 last night but didn't end up going to sleep until after 11. Brian decided to watch Glee from the other night after I talked about it. I loved the episode so of course stayed awake too late. We also watched Big Bang Theory which was so hilarious last night.

Going to work for a few hours though i have no clients scheduled that I know of. Then I will come home and clean up for our company tonight and then pick up the girls. May try and do another workout later or maybe the girls and I will do some Just Dance when they get home if I get the house ready. My desk is a disaster but I will save that for Monday. I want to get my tax stuff together early this year! We do them in two months.

Down 1.4 this week. I almost blew it last night with some popcorn but didn't over do it and with all the water I drank yesterday that helped.

Time to get moving. We had about 2 inches of snow so I will need to get the car cleaned off before I do the car pool.

Have a great Friday!

TTFN :tigger:

I lost 2 pounds!!!
:cool1:
Which might not sound like much, but DH was OOT and will be until a week from now so it's just me and the preschoolers for two weeks and I was hoping for a no gain week!
I've been super busy (as in falling behind on my DISigns) and not posting but I do lurk when I'm feeling meh about this whole diet thing.

Awesome! Way to go!!!

I am happy to report that even with my one day falling off the wagon and my fewer workouts this week that I am down 1.4 lbs this week! I'm still .4 lbs heavier than my low in the middle of the week before something evil possessed me and made me go out to dinner. lololol. Well, there's always next week, right? Actually, that's setting myself up for disaster. THERE'S ALWAYS THE REST OF TODAY! That's better. My daughter once told me: "Mom, you can start your day over any time you want to". How sweet. Must have been one of those mornings. :)

QOTD Friday: I would pick Nemo. I find encouragement that Nemo doesn't let his 'lucky fin" stop him from doing anything.

good morning teammies, well just a bit o'morning left

it was a really busy week for me, i wish i'd had more time to keep up with the chatter and inspiration, as sadly i had to report a gain this week :sad1:

thanks Michele for coaching last week and to Maria for coaching this week!!

i have taken this morning to dive into my 'hot spots' and declutter...i'm nearing a point to stop and finish up later this weekend as i need to run some errands, but really what i should do is a WATP before showering...i'm not motivated i will admit.

CONGRATS and CYBER HIGH FIVES to our LOSERS and MAINTAINERS!!!!

 Congratulations!!

That's so awesome! All this hard work really is paying off. :)

I got up this morning and just did the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 (my last day on the week 1 workout). I needed to start work, so I skipped the bike today, but I still broke a great sweat for that workout. I'm watching food carefully today because tonight is date night, and we're headed to our favorite restaurant! My favorite dessert ever is there (a dark chocolate torta palla), and I'm planning on having that. It'll all work...right?

I'll get a good workout tomorrow morning - DH is taking the girls with him in the morning before we all meet up for lunch and errands, and I'm planning on Jillian and a good long bike session...

So glad to see the weekend!

XO

Hi Mickey's--great job to everyone. I had a really good week. I got my workout in every day except Thursday (which I had planned because we're on the go for 13 hours that day between work and gymnastics). I stayed within my calories every day as well. Luckily, the scale agreed this morning! We had a snow day today so the kids and I are just hanging out enjoying eachother.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend--make sure you take a few minutes for yourself!

Well, today is a "flood day." Earlier in the week we had a late start because of snow. Yesterday the school district did an automatic phone call to everyone and told them they were welcome to pull their kiddo from school at any time. DS2 said there were 10 people in his last 2 classes! DS1 had an appointment in the morning and when he went to school the 12 minute drive took him 40 because of all the street closures! Today is better and the creek nearest our house (but still way too far away to flood us) is back in its channel.

I've already gotten my 3 mile walk in (crossing that creek a couple of times!) and returned a bunch of bottles/cans. Now I need to develop a plan and hit the grocery store. We've been eating "let's see what's in the pantry/freezer" meals all week and I'm a little tired of being "creative."

I had a maintain and was so grateful for it. Hasn't been a terrific week on the food front and exercise has been just so so. Later today will get a run in. I ran Wed. in the wind & rain and had I think my fastest time ever. Who knew crummy weather could be such a motivator?! :rotfl2:

FIL is still in the hospital; they are hoping in a couple days he'll be stable enough to move him to a rehab center and they can take care of him there. He can't swallow or stand alone and movements aren't terribly coordinated. He's been doing some physical therapy at the hospital. Not sure if DH is going to drive over tomorrow or not. He probably should tell me so I can go to the tire shop and get some chains! He'll need them to cross the mountains.

BronxNancy-thanks for worrying about us pacific northwesterners!

LisaH I've been really thinking about you and hoping everything is all right from this storm.

50sJayne-hope you are all right, too. for you and your daughter

RutgersAlum- :cool1: great job on the run

Keep up the good work Mickeys!

Yesterday was so busy that I never got on here :scared1: and I just lost my post. :headache:

I went to a job fair about 45 minutes away yesterday. I'm glad I went, but I don't think it will lead to anything. I also spent a lot of time job searching yesterday. Thanks for your wonderful words LTS! :)

Thanks for coaching last week Michele!

I don't really have any plans for the rest of today. I am cooking sauce so my priority is to stir it and keep it from burning. We are having a casserole with red sauce. I made GF meatballs too.

Have a great day everyone!

I would love it in the Finding Nemo section. Because I am very Dori-like--I guess because I have a lot going on in my life between my teaching job, kids' schools & kids' needs, dad & his needs, house, church, gym, etc.... :fish: Just keep swimming! Dory does seem to be like the Energizer Bunny, she just keeps going, and I know you do, too!

I think I'd have to go with The Little Mermaid because I love to sing! I love the music from all the films, but I especially love how it's such a big part of the storyline in The Little Mermaid.

:music: I think you'd fit right in Under the Sea! It's hard not to be positive when you are singing!

New people can be intimidating, but I bet you will fit right in! And if you don't, you don't know them and you can just move on -- you are in the perfect position! :goodvibes

QOTD: I would probably choose to be in The Lion King section or Little Mermaid. I love the colors and music of both so it would be hard to pick a favorite.

I think Tigger belongs on the African Savannah, I can see you bouncing through that movie! :tigger:

Great attitude! I always say (but don't always follow ) that consistency is key. If you have many more days doing what you need to for you than not, you will get the results you want! :thumbsup2

QOTD Friday: I would pick Nemo. I find encouragement that Nemo doesn't let his 'lucky fin" stop him from doing anything.

Nope, Nemo is an adventurer, and he's eager to take on the world! :goodvibes

Decluttering is always good -- are you doing the Super Fling Boogie? I need to make an effort. I have entire areas I haven't touched. I need to grasp that 15 minutes does make a big difference, and just do it! ::yes::

I got up this morning and just did the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 (my last day on the week 1 workout). Oh my, a "flood day" sounds quite scary...but not as frightening as me trying to get creative in the kitchen :rotfl2: I bet you had some wonderful meals, and you will enjoy planning a new week's worth. I hope FIL recovers quickly and well

Hi CC! Sometimes it helps just to get out there. Even if nothing comes from it this time you had some conversations, you put yourself out there, and that is the only way for things to come your way. Finding a job is well, a job in and of itself. I'm so glad you are embracing gluten-free, cooking and moving forward. It will all come together eventually :cheer2:

A little update on me -- just wasn't feeling the run this morning, so I postponed it until tomorrow. I'm going to sleep in, get up when I'm ready, and then knock out 12M -- followed by a lovely afternoon and evening of rest. :cloud9: Ok, I've put it out there, now I have to do it! I'm trying to get in 13 before the Princess at the end of next month, and I need to move it so I can get there and be ready to taper in a couple of weeks.

Keep those weigh ins coming to Sue!

Guess I could answer my own question

Friday QOTD: Let’s start with a fun one: Disney’s newest resort, the Art of Animation, is opening later this year. The sections have larger than life characters and scenes that put you in the movies. The Lion King, Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Little Mermaid are brought to life in vivid, exciting areas both inside and outside the rooms. You are going to be dropped into one of the movie sections – where would you fit right in and why?

I would fit right in The Little Mermaid. I am just a Princess kind of girl :lovestruc I often feel like a fish out of water, just like Ariel did (pun intended :rotfl:). I don't know how to act in social situations -- but unlike Ariel I have a voice and say the wrong things :headache:, but my prince still fell in love with me and comes through for me anyway.

I am not sure I would fit into my top 2, as I can't breathe underwater...LOL! But I would love the Lion King, since the Lions are nice and won't eat you - right?

Got onto the Wii last night and have gained weight since the last time I weighed on it - but I already knew that.
But, I am down 1 lb from the weight at my doctors office last week - so that is what I am going with!!!

Hello Mickey Mouse Club! :mickeyjum I'm going to post the QOTD tonight, so we can hear from our early risers!

:welcome: to another fantastic week at the BL Challenge! I am Maria, and I will be your coach.

Remember to send your weights to Sue, our weightkeeper at dvccruiser76, and include Team Mickey in the subject line!

And who could forget to send their HH points to CC, at cclovesdis?!

I have a long run tomorrow morning, so I'll be back early in the afternoon with replies!

It's Gonna Be A Good Week!

Lion King. I've always wanted to go to Africa and the big cats are always in my mind.

Well-- sorry team Mickey-- I gained 2 pounds this week. Looked up sodium content in Champagne...yeah there's a bunch. gonna have to get more of that diet coke w/low sodium as a mixer and I'm out of diet tonic water...

I know-- the drinking is questionable but I kind of have to any more-- not because of addiction, just because of necessity. I've cut out alcohol in social situations or anytime earlier than a few hours before I go to bed. it sounds bizarre-- it is--- but it's the only way.
Anyway the daughter situation has been eating on me all week-- distraction--. This is about the 5th attempt on her part and I really don't know what to do with her any more. It would be nice if we had any kind of regular communication but I avoid her conversation somewhat because it always leads to " I need money" and she avoids me I think because I'm always relaying messages from my parents...She has a lot going for her including 3 years of college but she needs to stop relying on her family as easy charity. She needs to get some good solid regular help from a source other than us because we are all tapped out and sick of it. All she would need to do is tone down her appearance a little (blue hair, eyeliner) and she could get a job. Lord knows the princess would never flip a burger though. Right now my parents can't get ahold of her to tell her that she keeps drawing money out of an account with no money in it and they keep having to pay $25 every time she does it. There's money in a different account so she's just taking it out of the wrong acct. if she would actually talk to someone or listen to her messages she'd know that...I told them to just put a hold on that acct. so she quits doing it, so they are. Her lease is almost up too and she needs to sign on it or she'll be out on her rear. She hasn't talked to them since xmas.

Anyway-- enough venting. Think I'll try to track food this week since I'm obviously not keeping very good track daily. It'll actually be easier than having to think about it at this point...it's been miserable wet cold weather here, lots of flooding, had a smattering of snow that I couldn't even enjoy because that was the day with the daughter drama. Had another bad personal incident right before it happened. It's just frustrating. Escaped into my book a little-- I think i'll read a little before I go work out today...Hope things are better this week!

That's eerie, you could've been talking about my mother with the one exception that her hair isn't blue. But the suicide threats, needing to find a job but not deigning to do the ones available and being emotionally burnt out all ring true...except she's my mother not daughter.
Guess there's always today to start fresh!

What a wasted day! Sat at work all day for nothing and right after I leave someone comes in for a massage. I was not going back and anyways I have the kids and we are having company tonight. I am definitely treating myself to a drink tonight! I have earned it! I feel wiped out so I think I will have something to energize me. I just vacuumed and then Ash and I have to run to the store on the way to get Izzie.

Gotta send my weigh in to the weight keeper! I need to start thinking of questions since I will be coaching next week. I may use some articles and have people answer questions from them and some fun stuff too.

Everything keeps falling in my house! Guess that's a clue to clean my desk and shelves on Monday after my oil change!

Need to head out shortly!

TTFN :tigger:
