Morning Mickeys!

Keep sharing your NSVs! They are so powerful! :thumbsup2

I have one to share actually. I didn't notice it until now. I walked up the stairs without having to lay back down in bed because I was so winded! I went to the basement to check my weight on the Wii and had a scale victory too. Hoping it stays for weigh-in at WW tomorrow and here on Friday. If I maintain through Friday, I'll be at a lower weight than the start of the Fall 2011 Challenge! :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

CC

You guys are making me feel bad for eating my hard-earned Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich during BL last night:rolleyes1
Ooh, don't feel guilty about that at all! I neglected to mention that while I was collapsed on the couch, I also had a 3-ounce pour of red wine and a VitaTop. :)

QOTD Wednesday, January 18: On This Day in Disney History in 1977, "the second episode of The New Mickey Mouse Club airs for the first time. Tueday's lesson is about self-control, and Donald Duck learns to control his temper in the cartoon short Self Control." Tell of a victory in this challenge when YOU got to use some self control, too!

I'm going to have to go with this past weekend. My mother-in-law's house is a notorious site of food pitfalls for me. Lots of snacks, candy for no reason, eating out, heavier cooking...and this past weekend, I was an ace tracker and came through it all on plan. I even went to the Y near her house for a workout on Saturday morning, which helped me motivate to stay on plan with food, too. In eight years of marriage (and 3 years of together before that), this was the first visit I've made there where I didn't fall off the wagon. So amazing, and it felt great.

Got up and worked out today - Jillian brought it (oof), and then 30 on the bike. I love getting the workout done early - my day just feels so much brighter! Then I discovered our kitten (just spayed last week) took out one of her stitches. She's going in to have them removed tomorrow morning, and the vet felt she'd be fine until then, so I'm just doing some extra stair-running to keep an eye on her today. My office is on the first level of our townhouse, and she's currently quarantined on the third level. Yeah.

Looking forward to some reading downtime while DD7 is at gymnastics later this afternoon!

XO
Liz

My dh and I are big football fans (:lovestruc My Beloved Patriots), and so we have had many playoff games to enjoy -- yes, we watch no matter who is playing. That is literally hours and hours of potential snacking...I've had ups and downs, but I'm generally doing well with choosing what I will eat before hand, and not eating more than that. :goodvibes

Maria :upsidedow

QOTD: Well, early in the day I would have said that I resisted the munchies by coming on here and reading then popping a hard candy in my mouth. BUT after dinner I made banana drop cookies and they are so moist and yummy that I ate 9! :scared1: Yes, nine!! :scared1: :scared1: But I'm moving on and not going to let it derail me.

Have my first quiet day in I don't know when. The house is mine! I blocked myself out so I couldn't get called to sub, got up this AM to take DS2 and DH to school/work then went back to bed. Couldn't go right to sleep cuz had to wait for DS1 to get up for school (no first period class for him) so I could tell him that his grandpa is in the hospital. We'll find out more today. Usually this type of blood vessel blockage clears itself up. There is no treatment, just let the body do its thing. They live on the other side of a mountain range so we don't see them in the winter but think DH would have gone over anyway except for the bugger of a storm we were having. LisaH has it hit you yet? It wasn't as bad as I thought. Fortunately we were on the southern end of it so no snow.

Better go accomplish lots and lots in this lovely peace and quiet!!

Have a super day!

Enjoy that peace and quiet! I'm willing myself not to look up the recipe for banana drop cookies! Hope everything goes ok for Grandapa!!

linda and lisaH ok so my geography of the NW sucks but i saw on the weather channel that you pacific northwest is going to get a BAD storm. of course, everything that is called the storm of the century winds up being nothing but be careful out there :)

QOTD one of the moms in my mommy and me class keeps bringing in bags and bags of candy :scared1: and it's all the good stuff too! i haven't had ANY. woot! i know if i have just that teeny tiny little mini snickers i will just keep it going and eat the whole bag. must use restraint. today i was having a staring contest with the snickers. and i swear the little peanut m&ms were making sexy eyes at me! but nope! didn't have any. :yay:

the scale is still being pretty unfriendly but i'm trying. i definitely could have gone without my OB asking me how i was planning on losing "all this weight" on monday when i went to my postpartum check up. men!

seems everyone's got a cold around here, including me. i'm still planning on going to my step aerobics class tonight. i didn't get to run yesterday because it was raining (and i was feeling lazy) so i definitely have to get to class.

QOTD: We've got a 18 pack of Dr Pepper in the fridge still from a few weeks ago when I got a craving for one. Miraciously, I've only had the ONE that I craved weeks ago. Alan has been drinking most of them.

Well, nothing got accomplished today...yet. I went back to bed and slept 5 hours. I think we're going to shoot for Downtown Disney tomorrow. I'm going to get on the treadmill here shortly and get a mile in. I don't think I have a kinect workout tonight. I'll have to turn the system on and check.

Dinner is salmon and brocolli and cheese.

New season of Royal Pains starts tonight! :)

Kristina, could you do me a favor?
If you go to DTD tomorrow can you see if Raglan Road has the Lambo recipe available? DH wants braised short ribs for dinner, and apparently Raglan Road is the only one he'll eat! LOL

If you can't get there it's ok, I've got the word out but I remembered you were headed that way.

Go TEAM MICKEY! ::MickeyMo

Congrats to all our HH winners and participants! :cool1:

Starting from this page and calling myself caught up. Hello to everyone! :wave2:

Tracey, hope you get caught up on your rest today. :goodvibes

Kristina, like your plan for today! :thumbsup2

I just chose to eat my Ethnic Gourmet Pad Thai for lunch instead of the Panda Express that I am craving. :hippie:

I love this challenge and this group for these reasons, and oh so many more!! Thanks everyone!!!

And I love how you are always so positive, Melinda! :goodvibes

Looking forward to meeting you soon! :tink:

Isn't it wonderful when you feel yourself getting stronger! :thumbsup2 Woo hoo for a lower weight! :woohoo:

I just finishing listening to the nutritionist on the Biggest Loser saying "make a plan before you make a plate." She must be listening to you, Maria! :cool2:

Linda, hope your FIL is doing okay! :flower3: Your DH is smart not to try to drive across the pass in this weather. It's snowing like crazy here. I'm glad it wasn't so bad where you are, although, it looks like you are going to get the wind.

linda and lisaH ok so my geography of the NW sucks but i saw on the weather channel that you pacific northwest is going to get a BAD storm. of course, everything that is called the storm of the century winds up being nothing but be careful out there :)

Way to resist the siren's call of the M&Ms, Nancy! :yay:

When I first heard about this storm I thought everyone was just getting excited because it is the first big storm of the season but it does seem to have quite a punch to it. I don't care what it does this week as long as it all passes by the time I need to fly out of here next week. :tink:

Have a great evening all!

Thanks, Lisa!

I took it easy all day. The day went by way too fast seeing as I pick up Ash at 1:45. I did squeeze in the 3 mile WATP with hand weights before I picked her up. I had a shake for breakfast and a cup of tea. For lunch I had a bag of TJs Mushroom Ravioli. I ate the whole thing myself! It was sooo good I couldn't help myself. I had a small handful of M&Ms. We had pancakes and bacon for supper. We've been doing breakfast about once a week lately. I've been drinking lots of water.

Girls and I watched the sequel to How To Train Your Dragon and then we watched Tangled during dinner. We made it into a picnic! Now we are watching an Air Bud movie called World Pup that Izzie got for Christmas.

Ash wanted to make cupcakes so I just have to try and stay away from them. I don't have any frosting so they may just have them with ice cream.

Hoping I can get up at 5 to workout tomorrow. I am also giving 3 massages tomorrow so that will be a good workout as well. I also have to visit the post office to mail some things to my parents.

This weekend is going to be busy with basketball and work and church on Sunday. We are making homemade Chinese food for supper or to have during the Patriots game. I got some stuff from TJs but we are making our own scallion pancakes and Crab Rangoons.

Reviewing for my massage tomorrow night as it's a pregnancy massage and it's been awhile since I've done one of those. I like to be prepared for whatever happens. Excited to say that I have 7 clients this week! I also have at least 2 next week.

TTFN :tigger:

:wave2:

I tried to catch up today but the DIS was not cooperating and I had to just give up. :badpc: Not sure if I will get a chance to go back and reply to everyone but I will try to read if I can.

I did my WATP again this morning. My ankle is actually still a little sore from yesterday but I did manage to get through the one mile without injury. I ordered the set of 4 DVD's so will be excited to see if I can ever progress to a 4-5 mile walk. Not sure about that. My new pedometer should be here tomorrow or Friday I hope.

I put the My Fitness Pal app on my ipod and tried to set up an account. I tried my username here but it was taken, not surprising. I tried a 2nd username that is also pretty common and it was taken. Then I went to my 3rd username that is very unique and I have NEVER had it show up as taken on any site-- and it was taken! That has never happened to me so. . . I went back to the Log In screen and put in that username and my usual password and YEP! I already had an account! I didn't remember making it but when I got into it I remembered I had put DH's information in so he could get an idea of total calories/fat/protein he should be having in a day. Changed it all to my info and input my food for the day.

While SB doesn't really necessitate journaling everything I did find it interesting to put in my food for today and the exercise and see where it stands compared to their standards. I actually had a high carb day today with a banana, regular ff yogurt instead of ff plain greek yogurt, and then I had spaghetti for dinner. I am lucky that DH makes homemade Spag sauce with no added sugar so the sauce is great calorie/fat/carb wise. I want to track some of the my more "normal" days and see where they are falling and how they compare to each other. It does help too to have the numbers for Sugar and Carbs smacking me in the fact to see where I may need to make changes (coughcoffeecreamercough)

2 big challenges coming up tomorrow and Friday. I was supposed to have a PTA meeting at the school but there is an even going on so it was moved to the local Mexican restaurant. :headache: I would skip but I really need to go to the meeting. This place has NOTHING that I can have except maybe the fajita meat but I don't want to pay for a full meal just to pick out the meat. I am going to try to eat before I go and just get an unsweet tea while there. I hate to go to a meeting at a restaurant and not order anything but not much else I can do.

The Friday morning I help with the monthly treats for the highschoolers which will be Krispy Kreme Donuts. :headache: Fortunately I check the kids in so I will be at the other end of the table, far from the food. Going to need some major resolve. Thinking I should have a diet hot chocolate made with real milk or a Starbucks skinny mocha. Since I am lactose intolerant I will start feeling pretty icky from the milk and not want the donuts-- right?? :rolleyes1

We are supposed to scrapbook all day on Friday so will have to figure out my meals. Not really in the mood to go-- it will probably only be me and one or two other friends. I thought about just inviting them to come and work here but it really isn't the same when you have kids and husbands and pets and other distractions.

I did get my lab results back and no celiac! :woohoo: He said everything looks great and there is no reason to even think it would be an issue. I really didn't think it would be.

Gotta go spend time with DH. Hopefully the DIS will cooperate and I can do some reading here tomorrow.

So I got 2 bits of good news today!!!

The first is a follow-up the school drama. The boys(bully and brother) have been removed from their foster home and are leaving school Friday!!!! I thought they were adopted but apparently they weren't. Rumor has it the dad called DCF and told them to take the boys back. I feel for the boys but maybe now they can get the help they really need. Deep down they are good kids, they just lacked discipline, structure, and good parenting.
According to the mom I talked to, after word got out around school that I pulled DS11 out, teachers starting coming out of the woodwork filing complaints. She said the principal (new guy) didn't know which way was up!

And the other bit of good news that's even better!! My older brother and his girlfriend got married Saturday!! They told my parents tonight so they called me over. It's about darn time!!! They've been together 11 years! Now we hope their adoption will happen soon.

Had my weigh in today. Sadly, I gained .4. I refuse to look at it as a total defeat though. I journalled everything that I ate, which is really good for me. I have a bad habit of hiding my head in the sad, so I count that as progress. I am out of town three days next week, so I talked to my consultant about some strategies. I am going to highlight choices in my dining out guide so that I can easily decide what is best. hopefully next week I can post a loss.

BAMB: I'll put a reminder in my phone and check the menu for you. I got caught up on Royal Pains season 3. I downloaded the whole season to my laptop for 15 bucks! Going to watch the new episode that is on the DVR and then I'm going to head to bed. I want to get up at a decent hour, eat breakfast, and head to Downtown Disney. I hope everyone has a great OP day!

Thanks Kristina!!

I hope you and Alan have a great day tomorrow. I'm so jealous that you get to go to DTD tomorrow. I am going through serious WDW withdrawal.

Were you happy with your journal for the week? Did you see anything you could change?
I'm glad you got some good strategies for the week. Safe travels!

Good morning everyone! I've been reading the thread but the dis has been very slow to load on my computer and would hang up when I wanted to post. Well, weigh in day tomorrow...hmmmm. We'll see for me. I did do a 5k last night on the treadmill (DD has been waking up very early and cutting into my 5am workout time so I had to fit it in at night.) I completed it in 39:03. My goal is 37:30 for April. Have a great day with with healthy choices Team Mickey!

QOTD Thursday, January 19: What is your "go to" healthy-ish dinner to whip up when you have little time (or energy)?

So today is my last day of coaching, and I have enjoyed coming up with questions--as well as trying to be more diligent about responding--this past week. Best of luck to
worfiedoodles in this upcoming week, and best of luck to all of us LOSERS (and maintainers)!!!:thumbsup2
