We are watching the Mummers parade. The String Bands are the part we like, but they won't hit the TV until about 1pm!

That was one of my favorite things about living in NJ and PA - I loved the Mummers parade! I wish I could watch too!!

So my mom apparently wasn't sleeping - just hanging around in her room so we're heading to the bookstore.

Hi again Fockers, I got sucked into watching Jaws and now Jaws2 is on. Don't know why I watch as that is the main reason I am still hesitant to go in the ocean.

So Murph called a bit ago, she is watching QVC and wants to know if she should buy the special value (HP mini laptop). Now keep in mind she bought a new computer a little over a year ago and it's hardly been used, but she feels now that if she had a laptop she would actuall use it. Ok between you and me she won't use any computer, no matter how strong the will is to learn this has been going on for years. I hate to tell you how many computers she has bought that end up going to the grandkids since it wasn't the right one.


LL-if you end up in Maryland it's not a bad drive from Jersey and a childhood friend of mine is near Baltimore so I would have 2 reasons to head down, well 3 including the food at inner harbour.

I can't believe we waited so long. You may as well pick up a Wii Fit too, or you'll be heading back out later this week to get one!

I was thinking that, too! But everyone appears to be sold out online, so I don't know how much chance I have of finding one in-store.

We do not have a Wii Fit ANYWHERE in Roanoke

Which reminds me, MIL called this morning and woke up with a horrible pain in her neck this morning. She finally got in contact with her neurosurgeon, who happens to be at the hospital today, so guess who's going back to the ER? And my FIL isn't feeling well and had taken his pain meds (narcotics) so he can't drive her there. So, DH is off to pick up his mom and take her to the hospital. I sure hope it's just a muscular thing....

Today's plan is to get the tree down and clean. Also gotta watch the Rose Parade and the Winter Classic hockey game (Red Wings!!!!!). Chicago and Detroit are playing outdoors at Wrigley Field. Should be a great game. Huge rivalry there. I might even try to get the rest of my Christmas cards done during the game...[/quote]

My DH was sound asleep and snoring by 8pm, Michael was out by 8:30...leaving me to entertain my mother... When all I really wanted to do was spend the evening with my virtual friends and a few drinks...Happy frickin New Year...

Just got an update from my mom. They think it's food poisoning?? Weird cause we all ate from the same place and he's the only one who got ill. At any rate, they gave him an EKG & full work up and everything is normal, except his Chemistry. They've got him on morphin (lucky duck! ) and he's resting.

Hello Fockers! Happy New Year's to you all!

Don't know if y'all remember me and I think the last I posted was back in October and you guys were on Focker Watch 6. LOL

But, with the new year I'm back! I have just been so busy with the holidays and the kids and I am so hoping that things will now slow down! I had a wonderful holiday with my kiddos and they are now spending time with their father. I miss them sooooooooo much and will get them back on Friday. (1 day left!!!!) They've been gone since Christmas Day and I've found out that I really hate sharing them.

My divorce was finalized a few days before my 30th birthday and I received the final divorce decree in the mail a few days afterwards. I e-mailed my attorney and said that was the best 30th birthday and Christmas present I have EVER received! I still have problems with the ex (of course because he's just an a$$ ) but hopefully he'll be shipped overseas with the Army sometime this year and I won't have to put up with him so much. :::cross your fingers for me::: (Plus that goes back to the whole sharing the kids thing LOL)

Anyways, I hope to be a more permanent fixture around here, if you'll have me.

We're going to my MIL for it: Cabbage (for Money), Black eyed peas (for luck), and Hog jowls (?? For higher cholesterol??)

We always had pork and sauerkraut growing up. My grandfather's brothers and sisters always got together and made a huge pot. So, yes to the cabbage, no to the other stuff.
