Hope everyone is having a happy, happy day!
Hmmmm...do you share kugel recipes? I know my family is very secretive about their recipes...but I've never seen a potato kugel.
I haven't done latkes in a few years. Now I'm having a craving.
No secret family recipes on kugels. The noodle/apple/raisin one has only been a recent addition - last five or six years, and it's bought from one of our local bagel establishments that has a holiday catering menu.
On the potato kugel, I'm kind of embarrassed to say we've been using the box mix the last couple of years for convenience.

The one the family used to make may have been a secret at one point but is pretty much the same as has appeared in a kosher cookbook back in 2000. And, I found a copy online;
Click Here. We used the garlic variation mentioned in the sidebar, and Grandma used the schmaltz variation when she made it. I may have to do it the old fashion way this year now that you've reminded me of it.
==============================
I've been busy fixing, updating and tuning computers around the house.

I've still got a motherboard/CPU, video card, sound card, upgrade and operating system/software reinstall on tap for DD11. So, I haven't quite made the progress that I hoped.
We're off to see Bed Time Stories. We're leaving Jenny at home.

She's in an organizing mood, and going from room to room through the house, and not wanting to stop while she's on a roll. She'll meet up with us for dinner with two other families and Hanukkah candle lighting, followed by a caravan to Rita's for ice/custard, and ending at our place for some conversation among the parents and playing among the children.
