I'll share down below...
Good thing I moved Leo to his new school when I did - his old one just announced they're closing by May! I always wondered how they stayed afloat while charging so much less in tuition than other local private schools.
And in other school news, our county decided to redraw the lines and it looks like Leo will have to change schools
again next year, along with about 60% of students in the district.
Wow - well, it's better to be ahead of the game, huh? And I'm sorry about the redistricting.
I think we are going to look at an apartment this afternoon and then we are heading to the city. Tonight we are going to see:
Soul of Shaolin. It looks pretty neat.
Have a great time!
Hi from not so sunny California!
Hi, Jodi! Have so much fun!
Does anyone have the feling my eldest is slightly jealous?
Did I miss something? I didn't know if she'd want me as a friend on FB, so I haven't asked her. Should I?

OK, so my friend and the embarrassing story:
Little back story - I live in a town that's certainly not huge, but we have 3 elementary schools and cover quite an area. Two of my playgroup friends live in the next town over. It's a lot smaller, both in area and population, and tends to be a little ritzier, more exclusive, whatever - and between those factors, tends to be a LOT more gossipy. One of my friends is in the loop and considered "main stream" there, but the one this happened to is the friend whom we discussed doing an intervention for this fall, if you might remember? She rents a house in this town and is a relative newcomer.
Anyway, this happened early last year when her twins were in kindergarten, and before we thought she was having issues. And we have to keep in mind that it sounds pretty bad, but was really innocent - this was not part of any issues we thought she was having much later down the road.
She was a sales agent for a computer company and had received from a client a bottle of Jack Daniels as a "thank you." She didn't want it, but left it in her car to remember to take to her mom's house, where her mom and mom's boyfriend might want it. But I guess she'd kind of forgotten it was there (it was unopened, of course), and one day, she pulled up to the kindergarten drop off line, and while the girls were getting out, the bottle rolled out of the car onto the sidewalk, where the teacher on duty picked it up.

This is embarrassing enough, but she didn't even realize this had happened (because of it being in the back seat) until one of the girls called out really loudly, "Mommy! You dropped your juice!" so that it not only was brought to everyone's attention, but made it sound like her mom drank it down all the time like, well, juice.
She was absolutely mortified, and of course was relatively sure that everyone in the school probably heard about it within 15 minutes.
Anyway, it's worse than the robe and the trash, I think.

I had a nice lunch with my friends, and ran my errands. I got to volunteer and the teacher had a sub who didn't know what to do with me, so I even had time to get my oil changed and shop a bit before lunch.
The kids should be home soon, and we'll get some pizza later. I'll be around, I think, at least until D gets home at around 6:30.
Have a nice end of the week afternoon!
