Mr. T, do you know anything about the Evergreen Marriott Resort in Stone Mountain? Mitch has a meeting there in June and I'm trying to decide if I want to go. They do have one afternoon off and the Braves are in town so we'll go to the game, but I don't golf although I could hang at the pool, which I can also do at home. It would be a nice vacation, but I wonder if it's worth the expense since we were just in Atlanta last summer.
Angela- I know more about the Stone Mountain park area generally. Never stayed at the Marriott there.
The location of the resort is good and should have some good views of the lake, although not sure of the water levels given our recent water difficulties in the region. Also, the location should be pretty relaxed forested area, and I know there are some good, but not particularly strenuous, hiking opportunities if you like that.
The resort is pretty close to most of the Stone Mountain park attractions. The hike (or trolly) up the mountain is pretty cool as is the view from up top. The laser show is pretty cool if you have not seen it along with the huge confederate carving on the side of the mountain itself. There are some water related attractions at the lake, but I'm not sure those are running viz-a-viz my comment on the water levels.
I know that they have a spa on premises at the Marriott, but I've not heard anything good or bad about it.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
===========================
Relatively calm here for the moment. The kids are all happily involved in independent play at the moment. The oldest and youngest are on hand held video games, and the middle is in the basement with her polly's arranged about her.
We had a bit of a sleep in this morning, which means I was up at 6:30 when DD11 woke up, 7 when DS6 woke up, and 8 when I finally decided it was pointless just laying in bed.

DS6 and I finished up his pinewood derby car except for the wheels and axles.

That last bit is on the schedule for this afternoon.
I read a bit over on the DVC board about the new
point charts and shake-up and thinking I need to sit down with Jenny to make sure we made the right choice for us in light of all the changes. We're still in our 10 day cancellation window, so if we are going to have second or third thoughts, now is the time while we can actually do something about it.
Anyway, I'll be back later to go back a few pages to catch-up. DD11 has requested lunch, so I've gotta run for the moment. TTFN!
