I then had a call from my Mum, her long term partners grandaughter commited suicide last night
How awful for your mum and partner.

well I coughed all nite---
Hope you feel better.

I am having a major debate with myself over the purse, I REALLY want.
You know I'm not the one to ask about a purse! :rotfl2: It's Dooney, get both. :rolleyes1

Jud's divorce was final this morning !!
Yea for Judy. :thumbsup2

And watch football I'm sure;)
:cool2:

Don't they provide them:confused3
The army provides a weapon and that's about it.

Oh, wait...let me send you a parka:rolleyes:
Thank you! :lmao:

Decided to take tomorrow off since I didn't get as much done over the weekend as I wanted. So I will be off for a week:woohoo: Yeah, don't want to rush back into the whole full-time work thing:rolleyes1
:rotfl:Don't blame you.

Ah, but it's not Dad calling him that as in "my pal" - they've renamed him.
Maybe he can change her name from Grandma to something more appropriate. :rolleyes1 That is just awful to tell a child you don't like his name. BTW, I think he has a cool name. :thumbsup2

I think that's done, though, after the behavior I saw. :sad2:
I don't blame you since he doesn't seem to like going there.

Unfortunately I have a huge problem when it comes to purses. I have been known to drop $400 on a purse. So in perspective this is "cheap". ;) Fuzzy Math at its best.

:lmao:

Ah, but it's not Dad calling him that as in "my pal" - they've renamed him. My ex-MIL informed me that they don't like to use H, so he just goes by "Buddy" there. These people are nutwings I tell ya. :headache:

:sad2: BTW - you put Leo's whole name in the above post. You may want to go edit;)

Oh Bonehead's long-gone; he moved back in Aug. I'm nice enough to allow H to visit the ex in-laws once in a while. I think that's done, though, after the behavior I saw. :sad2:

Sounds like Leo needs to be busy when they call:hug:

The army provides a weapon and that's about it.

:sad2: I have a pair from my ROTC, size 5...think they'd fit MItch:lmao:

well I coughed all nite---first nite I didn't sleep with BA--kept our cell phones close in case she needed me but didn't want to cough on her. Now I'm coughing up crud. Getting my inhaler...back......

I had such a bad feeling after I wrote it but it turns out my gut lied to me as I did well after all.
Fantastic and OMG I'm too cheap to buy those bags too :rotfl2:

Oh--you are having a bad day too.
Thanks, is it because I'm getting older so get told things but is suicide on the rise???

I was so shocked last year when I found out that a childhood friend had hung himself. It is never easy, hopefully your girls will never encounter this harsh reality with any of their friends or family.
Thanks Less, when my old BFF hung herself 3 years I was just so incredibly angry with her :sad2:

Jo I am so sorry for your bad news !!!!
Thanks Rosie and great news about Judy, did anything ever come from that Disney job???

Sorry about your friends granddaughter:hug:
Janet she was the grandaughter of my Mums long term partner so kind of my Step-Dad :sad1:

Ah, but it's not Dad calling him that as in "my pal" - they've renamed him. My ex-MIL informed me that they don't like to use "Leo", so he just goes by "Buddy" there. These people are nutwings I tell ya. :headache:
OMG this just gets more ridculous, poor Leo!!!!

How awful for your mum and partner.
Thanks Angela!

The army provides a weapon and that's about it.
Really? Is that all? How about clothes?

We went and looked at some netbooks today and unless we want to spend lots of $ then the cheap ones won't really last the girls long as sites such as FB will take forever to load apparently. So that doesn't solve the no big present thing :rotfl2: I know they both want clothes but am loathed to buy them so am now thinking of just giving them money but that's boring. Any ideas????

Hi Fockers... :goodvibes

It looks like we need some hugs around here. :grouphug: I also have a funeral tomorrow for a man that I grew up with his kids. He was such an amazing dad and husband. I told Mel that I when I thought of who I wanted to be like when I grew up, it was this couple. :lovestruc He had cancer and it was a quick thing. :sad1:

I see Judy has something to celebrate, though! :yay: I hope she hears abotu the job soon.

Lessa- I would never spend the money because that's not my thing, but if I were going to get one, I would get the bigger one. It's only $25 more and it would be a shame if the smaller one was disappointingly small. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry about all the sick-os we have around here. No fun.

As far as the cards go, I didn't get much response. Why don't we say that if you moved or didn't participate last year, I need your info e-mailed to me through the DIS by Monday? Sound good? :surfweb: If you don't want to participate this year, let me know. I'll just leave you off the list. No biggie. :rolleyes1

Thanks form allthe congrats for Judy !! I am proud tht she finally did it !!:worship::thumbsup2

On the Disney vacation thing I just gt the new brochure so when I call about that I will again ask them!!!!!

/
:wave2: Hi Denise. Now that I am driving again, and things are getting back t normal we have to try and meet up for lunch one Saturday:thumbsup2

Absolutely! I’m really looking forward to it!

So far we're surviving our first boy sleepover. But we only have one boy over. I didn't mean to imply he was having a party, just a friend over. It's the first time both of the boys have done a sleepover. :cutie

It is best to start them out slow – I hope they had fun!

Evening all !! Sorry haven't had time to catch up been a brutal day!!!!:scared1: 2 staff at the nightmare house I am on call for got into a fight and one threw a phone at the other !!! :scared1:

Unbelievable!!

So what are everyones Thanksgiving plans other than leaving me here talking to myself of course :rotfl2:

Leaving for the Shore on Wednesday afternoon, where we spend the long weekend. We go to my mom’s for Thanksgiving dinner from there on Thursday. We’ll have friends spend Friday through Saturday at the beach. Hope the weather’s good!

Lindsey is still having a hard time in dealing with going with her dad for Thanksgiving. She broke down the other night about it and then again last night. It makes me feel like a complete failure as a parent because of this. I know I'm not and I keep reassuring her but it just tugs at the ole heart strings.

I know it’s hard – but you certainly shouldn’t feel like that. Lots of  to both of you!

Sounds like a fun weekend, Denise. Toffee pudding? Mmmm... sounds yummy!
Enjoy!

‘Twas deeeeelicious!

It was tough this year, as Evan only wanted expensive gifts and Maddie only wanted inexpensive gifts. It was hard to try to keep things "even", KWIM?

I am the same way, but Andy convinced me that kids count the # of gifts, not the price. Oh well, looks like I'm spending more on Evan. :lmao:

He’s right! And you won’t be able to get away with that for long!

Andy's working today, TE and Waldo are heading to a 50th Anniversary party, both kids are a little under the weather and I'm bored. I think I'll either update my TR or start my January PTR. :scratchin:

Why don’t you do both?popcorn::

:lmao:that's a good idea! I just remembered that the nurse gave her 2 stickers before the surgery--she asked her if she was tool old for stickers and BA said NOPE--and took a sticker of a purple monster and stuck in on her hospital gown....then she looked down at it and said "wow--he looks like he needs surgery more than I do!"........She also had a "I'm brave" sticker--and she said she'd keep that till AFTER the surgery to see if she really was!
(after the surgery--she wanted both stickers on her new gown! I saved them!:goodvibes )

Sometimes it's neat to see my little girl again--at 12, she tries to act all grown up too much....sigh!

Awwww. I love when they still act like little kids sometimes. I got all fuzzy when my almost-21-year-old asked me this weekend if we still had her Mary Kate & Ashley movies, because she wanted to watch them.

Hi all!!!I had a huge fight w/ the parental unit. Basically she forbade me from going out and threw a big hissy fit and stormed out of the house.

For me this was completely ridiculous because I'm 30 freaking years old!!! Some people my age are married and have kids and she throws a hissy fit because I was going out to meet up with some friends on a Saturday night. Ugh.

Anyway, that's about it. I'm just scratching the surface on the whole moving out stuff. I saw a really really great place with wonderful amenities and like 5 min from my work so I'll save on gas. But it's at the top of my budget. Still looking and then I have to decide if want to live in a fabulous place w/ fabulous amenities or a place where I won't be at the top of my budget. ::: sigh:: Decisions, decisions.

Oooooh, that’s a bummer! Maybe it is time to get a place of your own! Good luck with finding something perfect for you!

Sat. - despite fever, did laundry, packed suitcases, figured out the penalty if I have to cancel our trip due to my illness, ran Leo to his barn and back so he could gather eggs, drove an hour to take him to his grandmother's for a visit and dealt with his horrific behavior and attitude following said visit. (This would be Bonehead's mother and Leo's behavior was atrocious the last time he visited her, too. They won't call him by his real name there; they renamed him "Buddy." What's wrong with these people?!)

Ummm, that is absolutely ridiculous and you have every right to cut off that relationship!! Geeze! You need a vacation, pronto!

I then had a call from my Mum, her long term partners grandaughter commited suicide last night  She was only 18 but had had depression for years, suffered with anorexia at some point too. Very very sad though, this is the 2nd suicide in 3 weeks for my Mum, the other was the wife of her friend, they were newly weds and they'd just had a baby 3 weeks before. She was from Thailand and couldn't cope :sad2: We've told the girls that Adele had an accident (we did that when my school BFF did it 3 years ago) I just can't go into suicide with them even though they are growing up :sad1:

Oh--you are having a bad day too.

My dad's first cousin committed suicide last week---he was a really successful 64 year old businessman in Orlando. Long standing depression---and his mother did the same in her 50s. :sad2: Both hung themselves.
I didn't tell the girls cause they didn't know him anyway, but it is something we talk about at times cause it's happened at the high school.
Prayers for your mom and friend.

Oh my, how awful these stories are. My DH’s best friend took his own life a couple of years ago – it is just heartbreaking – for the people left behind and to think how much the person must have been hurting. Very, very sad.:sad2:

Good morning!

I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night so waking up at 6am this morning was painful. I was also dreading going to my 8:30 Ethics class as I was not looking forward to getting my test paper back. I had such a bad feeling after I wrote it but it turns out my gut lied to me as I did well after all.

Of course you did!

I am having a major debate with myself over the purse, I REALLY want. It is only sold at WDW so I would have to order it through the merchandise line. International shipping would be $100! :scared1: So if I do buy it that means I would have to ship it to the family in Ohio (only $20). That would mean I wouldn't actually get my hands on it until the spring/summer. It is SO cute though and I really really want it.

Love those purses – it would be hard for me to choose (and I sure hope they have them when I go in August)!

I have some GOOD NEWS!!! :worship: Jud's divorce was final this morning !! She has sole custody and if he wats visitation he has to go to court and with all the ammo she has from Kyle's counsellor it wont happen !!!He idn't show up again so lost by default!!!!
Still no word on the new job , Judy is not hopeful that they will pay her what she wants and deserves so fingers crossed on that one:worship:

Yay! (and good vibes being sent for the job!):goodvibes

---------------
Wow, what a busy, busy weekend. I even tried to quote yesterday and just couldn't finish. I don't think I sat down until dinner time yesterday. Mostly cooking. The big dinner, plus a pumpkin roll and cranberry chutney for Thanksgiving. The concert on Saturday was absolutely amazing. It was 3 hours long with a break, best stage/light show I think we've ever seen!

Friday night's dinner out with birthday boy Bill and DIL Raqhel was fun. We left at 8 and lots of their friends showed up. Ariel came out to be their "designated driver" for the night which was nice of her.

Boy, that was a backwards report. Anyway, busy busy at work too - got to cram 5 days of work into 2-1/2, but wanted to say Hi everybody!

Hello all. Just a quick post , as I am procrastinating.

I left work early today because I didn't take the decongestant last night. I thought since it makes me drowsy i shouldn't take it, but my ear pressure is thru the roof. I prob won't go to work the rest of the week and try and finally get this thing kicked and take the pills 2 times a day like i'm supposed to.

Tonight I have to do all the cooking for thanksgiving (mashed sweet potatoes, baked ziti w homemade sauce, and 2 loaves of pumpkin bread) since KC will be bringing it up to his parents house tomorrow evening so we don't have to make the long commute on Wed before our concert (which is in brooklyn). Hence the procrastinating. I'm tired and really don't want to, but it'll be done at least.

I also, at some point, need to pack an overnight bag for him to take too, so we have clean clothes on turkey day.

I can't wait for the weekend to be over!

and BTW I updated my TR. Finally.

Sorry, too much to quote. I read through, though.

V, I'm so sorry about your weekend. Ex-MIL sounds like a real treat. I think it's perfectly acceptable for you to limit that.

Jo, I'm sorry for your mum. My poor friend whose brother just did it a few weeks ago is home, but not doing very well with it all. Horrible, horrible for everyone left.

Kat, hope your ear clears soon!

Denise, glad you liked the concert! :) Sounds like a nice weekend!

Angela, I feel like there was something I was going to say. :confused3:rotfl: Hi, I guess!

Hi to all!

*******************************************************
I woke up with a sore throat and an ear starting to clog. I went back to bed for a bit, then got up and got everything together for the PATT treasurer and went to school for just 5 minutes, then tennis. I've actually been lazy ever since. It's about time to make dinner. ;)

The throat is iffy, but the ear is better.

Tomorrow's a little crazy. I'm at school in Buzz's class to help with crafts for an hour (and I can't remember if it's at 9 or 10, and the teacher was out sick today...) and then Woody's class is doing a turkey dinner for lunch (because once in the week isn't enough? I don't get it.) So, I have to come home from school to warm up the stuff I'm taking back at noon. Then, I scheduled myself to help with fundraiser distribution from 4-5, forgetting entirely about the kids' tennis. So, they'll have to go Wed. after school - we have a whole day on Wed. Most of our neighboring towns are off. :confused3

Hi Fockers... :goodvibes

Mine hasn't changed!

Absolutely! I’m really looking forward to it!

Wow, what a busy, busy weekend.

Sounds like it was fun though. Was the concert at the Kimmel Center?

Hello all. Just a quick post , as I am procrastinating.

Hi Kat :wave2:

The throat is iffy, but the ear is better.

Hope the throat gets better too!:goodvibes

Tomorrow's a little crazy.

That's an understatement :faint:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Evening all. Home from work. On vacation until Monday, but have a ton of stuff to do. Toorrow is laundry (yes, more:sad2:) and cleaning the powder room, dining room and living room. Thn I am getting my haircut and eyebrows done at 6:00:yay:

Wednesday will be doing as much of the prep work fro Thursday as I can and then a final clean of the kitchen, and mopping the floor. Jimmy has his first OT appointment at 4:45 so I will pick him up at 4:00 from after school and take him to that Jim will meet us there.

Thursday is Thanksgiving. We are going to the parade in the morning. Should be home by 11:00am and then it will be cooking, eating, and football.

Friday I will be out of here by 4:00am to get to Target, from there I will hit Toys R Us and then the King of Prussia Mall. After the mall will be Wal Mart and then Kohls. The goal is to have ALL shopping done by the time I get home:thumbsup2

Saturday and Sun day will be Christmas decorations. Weather will determine inside/outside order.

I am sure I will be checking in tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!:goodvibes

Evening All !!! I am soo glad I have a short work week this week !!! Of course with all the cooking on Thursday nottpo mention hitting KMart in the am and then of course BF!!!!!

:wave2:

Can I pop back in? :confused3 I only read this page, but Rosie's post has me wondering HOW MUCH went on while I was away? She's got a BF??? popcorn::

Dawn usually keeps me up on what you people are up to, but clearly she messed up. :sad2:

Not much going on here. NotBob has to go to Mexico, China and Japan in the next 6 weeks. He's in Wisconsin right now, though. Both boys are doing great. I am seeing Dr. Seigle on Wed. to hopefully get the last stitch out of my eye. BLECH!!! :scared:

I'm cooking turkey for thanksgiving, even though it's only us. I guess we'll just have lots of turkey sammies. LOL.

Where's Kristel for my 75 page update? :rolleyes1

MEL:banana:

The pie making is quite the Tradition if you recall from last year ... after pies are made they get to play with the dough and I di mean PLAY!!!:rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Sometimes it's neat to see my little girl again--at 12, she tries to act all grown up too much....sigh!

Awwww  Can't we just keep them little for just a little longer?

I am the same way, but Andy convinced me that kids count the # of gifts, not the price. Oh well, looks like I'm spending more on Evan. :lmao:

::yes:: I know mine count 'em.

My feet on the other hand...

Looks like I may be facing surgery on the other one, (Murph and I may be sharing her scooter). We are trying one more treatment option. My Dr called some expert on the West Coast and we are flushing the nerve. Yes it's as horrible as it sounds. Had the first treatment last week and came home and took a vicodin that I had left over from the last surgery. Go for #2 tomorrow. I'm thinking of working from home Tuesday to rest it up for WDW. I can work from the couch that has recliners so I can elevate it all day.

 Mo. Sorry about the foot and I hope the surgery is able to help ya out. Hope you and Murph both have a wonderful trip!

We haven't talked for a week now and I'm thinking of moving out and getting a place on my own. I did some apartment hunting and analyzing of all my expenses and it'll be rough but I can't deal with her throwing hissy fits for everything I do. I need to live my life and I'm tired of her criticisms.

Hi Janet! :wave2: Hope you enjoy your time off!

[I guess 'Blind Side' is doing terrific! I've heard a lot of people talking about it. It was showing at another theater complex that we drove by - the place was packed and there was no 'New Moon' showing at that one. Good for Sandra Bullock!:hippie:

I want to go see that more than New Moon. Hopefully over Thanksgiving weekend I can go.

Anyway, Reid loved the lights, the snow, the music, Mickey's hat. I hope they took pictures.

Awwww! Sounds so cute!

Sat. -[/B] despite fever, did laundry, packed suitcases, figured out the penalty if I have to cancel our trip due to my illness, ran Leo to his barn and back so he could gather eggs, drove an hour to take him to his grandmother's for a visit and dealt with his horrific behavior and attitude following said visit. UGH V! I hear ya on that one! My ex-MIL calls Lindsey...LYNN. I've corrected her a million and one times but nope she still calls her that.

And yep, Lindsey's behavior is the same when she comes back from her dad. It's like you gotta reprogram you child all over again.

:hug::hug: Hope you feel better and enjoy your trip!

I woke this morning to loads of coughing and nose blowing but both girls were dressed for school so I made the decision they couldn't go and ordered them back to bed :rotfl2: I then had a call from my Mum, her long term partners grandaughter commited suicide last night  She was only 18 but had had depression for years, suffered with anorexia at some point too. :lmao:

Leaving for the Shore on Wednesday afternoon, where we spend the long weekend. We go to my mom’s for Thanksgiving dinner from there on Thursday. We’ll have friends spend Friday through Saturday at the beach. Hope the weather’s good!

That sounds like a lot of fun!

Oh no CE! Hope you don't get the sickies too! Feel better and tomorrow still sounds busy for ya.

****************************************************

Not much going on in my little world. I had class this morning and then took DR to Cabela's this afternoon. I totally HATE this place and do not enjoy it at all but DR has wanted to go for a while now so I sucked it up and took him. My ex used to work there and the man is an encyclopedia of useless knowledge. Well, he must have passed all this wonderful useless knowledge onto me because I was able to answer each and every one of DR's questions about whatever he wanted to know regarding camping, hunting and fishing. And here the man thought I never listened to him. :rotfl:

Then after we got home a guy I had been talking to online IM'd me and we chatted for a while. I 'met' him on match.com a few months ago but maybe talked to him once or twice and then just said forget it because really I wasn't interested in dating or even being involved with someone. But, just this past week we started talking more and he ended up calling and we talked tonight on the phone. It was really nice and I totally enjoyed it.

The bad thing is that he doesn't live in my area. He has parent's that live here though and he will be in at Thanksgiving time. I'm hoping we can get together on Saturday for coffee. ::Fingers Crossed:: that it will happen. I so need and deserve this.

The kids leave to go with their dad tomorrow night. The cheap ba$t%#d doesn't want to pick them up earlier than 7PM so he doesn't have to worry about feeding them dinner. :sad2: What he plans on doing the other days I have no clue.

So the kids will go to school and daycare and I have class in the afternoon. I have a test in that class and then need to leave early. I have an eye doctor's appointment...FINALLY! The kids lost one of my contacts so I've been wearing my glasses. Then I asked DR to bring my glasses down to me one morning and he broke the temple off of one side. So, I've been wearing broken glasses around. Hopefully I can get some new contacts tomorrow and order some new glasses.

Gee...for nothing going on in my world I feel like I wrote a book!

Have a good night everyone!

Hiya, Mel!

I think Rosie's "BF" was for Black Friday, but I might be wrong. ;)

Good luck with the stitch.

*******************************************************
I have made my make-ahead mashed potatoes for the school thing tomorrow - just need to warm them in the oven before noon. :thumbsup2 Of course, I have to do it all again on Wed. night for Thursday, but that's OK. They are pretty easy.

For Thursday, I also have the cranberry sauce (from scratch, but totally easy) and green bean casserole. It's not tough, it's just going to be the transport that will be tricky. I have one "keep warm" carrier thing, but that's not enough for the casserole and the taters. :rotfl2: And I guess I'm not sure if I should just assemble the beans and cook them there, or if I should cook them at home and try to keep them warm. :confused3

:lmao: to Dawn. (Sorry Dawn!)

Good luck at the doc's on Wednesay. That just sounds like it would hurt! :ouch:

I guess I'm not sure if I should just assemble the beans and cook them there, or if I should cook them at home and try to keep them warm. :confused3

I would assemble it there. It doesn't take that long to make or even bake in the oven. You could keep the potaotes warm in there as well as the green bean casserole bakes.

:rolleyes1

MEL:banana:

 Hi Mel! I've wondered where you have been.

:lmao: to Dawn. (Sorry Dawn!)

Good luck at the doc's on Wednesay. That just sounds like it would hurt! :ouch:

What?! Rosie's talking about Black Friday, not a man. You dork! Clearly you've lost your edge with all that time away. :rolleyes1
