Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Yes, finally. Mind you, not until after school would have been out, but it did come down hard once it started, so the buses would have had some trouble getting the last of the kids home. Mine get home around 3:15, but they're 4th on the route - the kids at the end are a good half hour later, so...

I bet the superintendents are breathing big sighs of relief that it finally started, though. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I think ours thinks that as well when they cancel.

CE said:
Yeah, so that went pretty well - I liked the sensei and the prices are reasonable. We ran into Buzz's best friend, too, which is always nice. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 DR's really wanting to do karate but the place that I want to send him he has to be 5. He turns 5 in March so maybe this summer (if they don't go with their dad) he can start or this coming fall.

I literally have been laying in bed all day (minus a brief stint to the store) since its the only bug free area, we have it moved almost to the center of the room and its all been throughly checked out so i only feel comfortable there. 2 more days of this.

The realty company never returned my call about checking the neighboring apartments, so we are writing a letter and putting it under their doors tonight. I am fed up.

I have my census test tomorrow so hopefully that will pan out asap. I wanna go to Fl in June!

:hug::hug::hug: It all sounds like such a pain. Hope you hear something from the realty company soon and that everything gets taken care of. Is this bed bugs that you are dealing with or something else? I missed the post about it all since I was MIA.

***********************************************

Linds is cancelled again for tomorrow and DR's daycare is closed. :sad2: I doubt I'll have class cancelled but that's OK. I only have 1 and it isn't until noon so it shouldn't be too bad when I have to get on the road. So, my kids will be home with my dad and my brother.

OK Lindsey's standing here and wants to do some smilies (she's calling them stickers :rotfl:) so this is her Hi ya! to the Fockers...

:lovestruc:cutie::bride:princess::littleangel:

(of course she picks all the girlie ones :laughing: )

Hi and welcome, you probably know but I'm Jo from England, although there are many jokes that I'm lying as they don't believe my accent is real ;) :rotfl2: Tell us a bit about you and chime in regularly :thumbsup2

A little about me. I love Disney obviously and am going for the 3rd time in 18 months at the end of April. I worked for Philadelphia until about 6 years ago when I had to retire on a disability. It gave me the freedom to watch my grandkids. I have 6 of them, 4 boys and 2 Princesses. I spend a lot of time on the boards while I watch the grandkids and have hooked them all on Disney but only the oldest has been there so far. As Janet said she worked with my DH. He is a Philadelphia Sheriff. I have really enjoyed lurking in the background and look forward to getting to know you all better.

Welcome! Everyone is a newcomer at some point. I've been on hiatus for over a year or so and almost feel like a newcomer again. Glad to meet you, and I'll be driving by you come the end of June on our way to Ocean City MD.

If you drive down I-95 you will be driving very close to me as I live not far from 2 exits. I have never been to that Ocean City only the one in NJ.

You're my ABFF too :hug: :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao:

Is this what your year round schools do???

There are no year round school around here.

Hi Fockers!

Sorry you aren't feeling well:hug:

I bet the superintendents are breathing big sighs of relief that it finally started, though.

:rotfl2:

It could be... Buzz has actually been diagnosed with basically 'seasonal' eczema. It never shows up in the summer, but the colder and drier it gets, the more it shows up.

Jimmy too. What do use on him?

I worked for Philadelphia until about 6 years ago when I had to retire on a disability.

Where'd you work?
++++++++++++++++++

So, they didn't have the valentine's party today they are going to have it tomorrow. The teacher sent the brownies back with Jimmy. I gave them to the after school teacher to give out to the kids for a snack.

Took Jimmy to his appointment and then came home and did homework.

Cooked dinner.

Then made 2 dozen cupcakes for the party that they are having tomorrow!:headache: Someone needs to tell the teacher that I am not Betty Crocker:laughing:

Hope everyone is having a good night!:goodvibes

Of course you are, Janet! :rotfl2:;)

Just poppin' in to catch up... it's getting harder and harder to keep up with you chatty chicks! :faint:

Busy again... I hate cookie time. I'm always sending emails, checking orders, etc, etc. Our delivery is Saturday and guess what? It's going to freakin' RAIN! UGH! How the heck am I supposed to keep 1800 boxes of cookies dry? No one wants soggy cookies. Double UGH!

In case you missed my FB post....

IT'S SHAMROCK SHAKE TIME!!!!!

It's bed bugs. I just keep telling myself one more day and they will be gone!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
it's like 2:30 am. Sleep and I wont be friends because I had a coffee to stay awake to finish up Laundrypalooza. BUT it's done! :woohoo: Now all we have to do is move the furniture away from the walls tomorrow and then thurs morning they come to spray! Thanks god! I am sooooo over this whole thing.
never heard from the realty company so we left notes under the doors of the neighbors explaining the situation and lack of response from the realty people. Hopefully it'll scare 'em enough to call and complain.
Ok I am going to read book 3 in the Signs of the Zodiac series, I'm really liking them so far!
Oh and I take my census test tomorrow at 3pm wish me luck!
Good luck! I don't think I mentioned that my FIL called Saturday - they are no longer coming for the birthdays in April because he and step-MIL are working for the census. I don't know what they're doing for it, but... :thumbsup2 (For them getting hired, and, frankly, that they're not coming.) :rotfl2: We thought we'd probably rather go to their house anyway, but they said not to do that either, as they'd be working.
************************************************
Bus is really late, though we have no official delay. I'm going to go back out and relieve D as he's trying to get to work today. BBL.
I do need to go to the grocery store though. DR either has the chicken pox or he's allergic to the laundry detergent/fabric softner I used. I'm leaning towards the detergent so I'll try re-washing some of his clothes in All Free & Clear and see what happens. I wouldn't say his skin is that sensative but I think with this really cold weather we are having it's really messing with him. I'll need to get some kind of good lotion as well.
If it's chicken pox it'll be worse today, how is he?
My aunt taught in a year-round in CA for years, but they more or less just took every 4th month off, and they rotated (the schools were too full.) So for her schedule and 1/4 of the kids, they'd have November, March and July off. Then they'd get the week or so around the holidays. Other kids and teachers would have Dec/Apr/Aug off, etc. etc.
Wow that is a weird schedule!
I have my census test tomorrow so hopefully that will pan out asap. I wanna go to Fl in June!
Good luck :thumbsup2
OK you're ALL my ABFF's OK? :rotfl2:
OK Lindsey's standing here and wants to do some smilies (she's calling them stickers :rotfl:) so this is her Hi ya! to the Fockers...
Thank you Linsey :wave2: pixiedust:: :cool2: :dance3: :flower3: :littleangel:
Wow it is a small world that your hubbie works with Janet, did you know that before you started reading? And your name is Lorri right? So we have a Lori and a Lorri now :rotfl2:
Then made 2 dozen cupcakes for the party that they are having tomorrow!:headache: Someone needs to tell the teacher that I am not Betty Crocker:laughing:
I SO love UK schools us parents don't have to do hardly anything compared to you guys :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Well we haven't gone up to Mum's today, I'm still bunged up and Ellie is coughing, the girls aren't happy though but what can you do? We did nip to the supermarket as we needed food for tonight and I managed to get conned into buying packets of candy for the journey :rotfl2: Luckily they were 3 bags for £3 so I had to get some too :rotfl:
Well, at least you got candy. :hug: Feel better, everyone!
**********************************************************
This week at school they're doing a "Fitness Fundraiser" which just involves an extra "fun" PE session with people donating some money. But they do "stations" in the gym, so they need volunteers to run the stations. I had hoped to avoid it this year, but I got a "please help, we're desperate" message last night, so I'm going in for 2 hours today. Sadly, it's third grade, so I won't see my kids, but oh, well. 2nd grade is Friday, and I don't want to go then! :rotfl2:
I really need to start thinking about our trip - more worried about the groceries and stuff than the clothes - and we're hoping to go out Friday night for my birthday, as I think we'll have too much to do Saturday to get ready to go Sunday.
The bus finally came about 20 minutes late. D had already gone out and re-blown the driveway (it snowed maybe another inch after he'd done it last night) and it's sunny and supposed to get to mid-30's, so I think the roads and stuff will be clean again relatively soon. I can handle this kind of snow - it's the stuff that lasts from Dec.-April that I hate. :rotfl2:
I have to take the kids to tennis today since we didn't go yesterday, but I should have some time to grocery shop in between volunteering and the kids getting home.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! :goodvibes
Of course you are, Janet! :rotfl2:;)
Love you too T;):hug:
Yeah, I'd have sent the brownies right back in today. I don't bake. :rotfl:
I thuoght about doing that, but......:sick::lmao:
I really need to start thinking about our trip -
What I'd miss. Where ya going?
+++++++++++++
Just a quick hi from me :wave2: Crazy busy at work. Hope to check in at lunch time. Hope you are all having a good day:goodvibes
CE- I am hoping to do office work for the census because otherwise its a door to door thing and im not too keen on that.
Janet- we have to leave for at least 4 hours after they spray. Its mainly just waiting for the spray to dry on everything in the house. we plan to hit up dunkin or starbucks with our DS' and KCs laptop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am destined to be a napper apparently. I slept for about 5 hours then was up again. Surely a nap is in my future.

BUT I got a call from the realty company today...finally!

We left a note under the doors of the neighbors next to and above us just saying we have these bugs and they need to be checked since they share a wall with me. they freaked and called the company this morning. Progress!!!

So the beotch in the office called and tried yelling at me but in the end she played nice because she doesn't want me freaking out any more neighbors.

We aren't friendly with any neighbors but i think i am going to knock on the door next door and see if the woman was lying about the apartments being checked out or not. she made up some line about the super having some spray he can use, so now he's a licensed exterminator?! Hilarious.

But this will all be over soon, they come in the morning for the extermination and i can't flippin' wait!

Now I need some coffee and food! Have a great day all.

Does anyone mind if i become the new keeper of the birthday lists? I feel like i never know when one is coming and since Katt was the list keeper, maybe I can do it now?!?!

Wow it is a small world that your hubbie works with Janet, did you know that before you started reading? And your name is Lorri right? So we have a Lori and a Lorri now :rotfl2:

Janet commented on a TR that we looked familiar. At first I thought it might be because we were both from South Philly originally. Then I started lurking here and realized that she may know my hubbie from the courts. It turns out that was why we looked familiar. He did recognize her too. He doesn't get into the courts as often as he used to because he transports the prisoners. He has been to Orlando 3 times in the last year and he never takes me. :confused3
My name is Lorrie, my mom spelled it like that so I wouldn't get a nickname and all my brothers call me Sis. :lmao:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I will be around later. Wednesday is my one day of the week that I don't watch my grandkids but I have to get all my Drs appointments in, pick up my DGD from school and take her to dance. I work harder now than I did when I worked. :rotfl2:

It's bed bugs. I just keep telling myself one more day and they will be gone!!!{/QUOTE]

UGH! Sounds like a mess but gald you are getting it all taken care of. :hug: Good Luck on the census test!

Yeah, I'd have sent the brownies right back in today. I don't bake. :rotfl:

That's what I would have done, too. :rotfl:

If it's chicken pox it'll be worse today, how is he?

He's better today. The rash is still on his belly/chest but it's not looking too bad. It was definately the detergent/fabric softner I used on his clothes. I re-washed everything for him and we'll see how that goes.

He hasn't been to daycare for almost 2 weeks and Lindsey has been to school twice in two weeks so if he had the chicken pox I have no idea how he could have picked them up. :laughing:

Happy Wednesday, everyone! :goodvibes

You too CE! :)

******************************************************

Kids are home from school today but it's looking like tomorrow will be a go. :thumbsup2 Please, please, PLEASE let it be a go! Even if they do have a 2 hour delay.:rotfl2:

I have class but not until noon and I need to start getting ready here in a few minutes.

We were woken up this morning by lots of beeping and what sounded like shoveling outside our window. I look out and a little Bobcat is scooping up snow in between mine and the neighbor's car and then dumping it over the hill. I'm not complaing...makes it easier to get my car out. :thumbsup2 Wish they would could have done our drive way though. :rotfl:

I need to go sign the kids up for T-ball tonight at the community center. DR can actually play this year and he's excited. I don't know if I want to do T-ball for Lindsey or have her do softball. Last year they would pitch to the kids before they hit it off the Tee and Linds did really well, but I think it would be different with softball and a little more competitive. We'll see what happens when I get there and what they suggest.

That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a good Wednesday!

I don't mind :thumbsup2

I'm snowed in.....Daran's supposed to fly back from Ohio today but we'll see--tons of snow here.....day 16 of no school....

kat---yes you can be the birthday list keeper! We probably need to update--I'll be first!

Jan 13

Lorri--Hi and welcome!:thumbsup2

CE--sounds like my volunteer life about 4 years ago---it ended abruptly with this move and middle school...but I transferred it to super cheer mom volunteer!

So catch me up---where's Kristel??

Welcome! Everyone is a newcomer at some point. I've been on hiatus for over a year or so and almost feel like a newcomer again. Glad to meet you, and I'll be driving by you come the end of June on our way to Ocean City MD.

:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :snooty: :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

A YEAR?? really???

Good Morning, Peeps! :wave2:

I've had loads of coffee and now I'm bouncing off the walls! :hyper:

Welcome Lorri! :goodvibes

CE - I think I'm going to try that Poppy Chicken... sounds good, but do you think I could substitute Ritz crackers for bread crumbs?

Jo - Don't you have McDonald's there? :laughing: A Shamrock Shake is a special shake McD's puts out around St. Patrick's Day only. It's a mint flavored shake and I just love them. :thumbsup2 I get so excited every year when they come out, because they're only available for a short time. :thumbsup2

It's a quiet day for me...but I've got loads of stuff I could do, but don't want to do. Our office is a mess and I need to get organized before this weekend. The bedrooms could use some hoovering and I the bathrooms need a quick cleaning...but I don't want to! :snooty: :lmao:

Happy Hump Day! :flower3:

UK definately has McD's, I ate at the one near Piccadilly (now there's a funny word, and Jo Piccadilly is in London;))

I guess further evidence of Jo's non Britishness;)

T - remind me to tell you a Shamrock shake story from my college days on St Pat's day. McD's was across the street from an Irish bar...

Are there newcomers, HI and welcome, only pop in now and then as life as gotten to crazy for me, but I'm Mo, no human kids, only fur kids pug:

TE - 16 days of no school!!! Holy carp, are you stuck in the house with 2 teenagers:scared1:

Kat - good luck with the census job, I had a really bad experience with a door to door guy doing one of the preliminary censuses. I almost had to call the cops. I didn't know who he was and refused to open the door. Thank God my next door neighbor pulled into his driveway at that time and asked what was up when he saw the guy pounding on my front door. The guy left at that point, leaving behind the information in my mailbox. I called the census bureau and got a hold of his supervisor. Supervisor said he would have told his wife to do what I did. It was very scary.

Back to work, later Fockers
