Holy quiet, Batman!

How's everyone this morning?

Not much happening here. I've called and made an appointment for the booster H1N1 for the kids, which I forgot for too long, and called to make an inquiry about joining a credit union for a good car loan rate. D went to work out and then to work - my task for today is to clean the van up good to see if we can squeeze a few more dollars out of a trade in. ;)

So, that's really all I know... I'm excited - the place we were going to look at the really low mileage, but expensive, version has another one, actually, that's even MORE loaded with a few thousand more miles (but less than the one last night) for just a scrunch less. I would hope that one of those two will be doable, assuming they're not totally beat up or anything. :thumbsup2

Anyone have a white car (in snow country) that has an opinion? I know I don't want black, due to salt and crap, but I don't know how I feel about white. Our current cars (and my former one) are all silver, and we're bored with that. ;) The other is the dark red... These are the important things, after all... :rotfl:

My mom had a white car for a few years-she said she much preferred ti in snow etc to the black car she had later.

CE---Daran has a white F150 and for some reason, it always looks cleaner than mine---even now with all the salt and snow. Of course, I picked mine cause it's Hokie maroon color---so that's important too!

School is shut :yay: About 2 miles away the road is actually closed due to snow so I had decided I wasn't sending them out in a doubledecker bus anyway :) We only have about 2 inches here but need to go for a walk to find more :rotfl: It's forecast to snow loads more today too :thumbsup2

2" Jo surely you jest thtthey closed school !:confused3We have 2 feet and chools are open !!:rotfl2: Iknow we are prepared wit ploughs and salt and other places aren't!!!

My mom had a white car for a few years-she said she much preferred ti in snow etc to the black car she had later.

I was gonna say I had no problem with my white car!!:cutie:

Well I scored at Target I got a Christmas tree for$6:banana: als nice christmas stockings 29c , candy for a dime !!:banana::banana: Ilso picked up some in rom snx and breakfast bars etc for next month! Of course I hit the Travel size aisle got some sunscreen for my carryon!! I know V I am being optimistic !!!:lmao:

Now I have a load of laundry in and dishes to do and supper to cook!!!:headache: Naa I'll just Dis :rotfl2::rotfl2:

T - I love DL, I sooo wish I visited more. Thermals:::lmao:
What? What's so funny about thermals? It's going to be 29* on Saturday night. :cold: The brown people are going to be Fudgcicles!

My feet are not good, still getting those nerve flushes originally, we were going to do 3-5, last night was #7:scared1: And I needed new orthotics, I was having terrible leg pain and it was because my orthotics. I just know I am facing another surgery in 2010...
:hug:
We only have about 2 inches here but need to go for a walk to find more :rotfl: It's forecast to snow loads more today too :thumbsup2
Yup. It's official. You are MAD, woman! You're going to LOOK for snow??!! :sad2:
Kids are off to school, D just got back with the dog, and wants to shower - and then we'll go look at those cars. :thumbsup2

See you later! :wave2:
Good luck! :goodvibes
Mitch and I are running errands this morning and then trying to figure out Tricare.
Have fun!
but that temp's gonna have to get above 30, lol! ;)
:rolleyes:
And for all those who scoffed about our deep freeze down here... the weather gal this morning mentioned the S-word - that's right SNOW!!! :faint: We may see some sleet and/or flurries this weekend. Un-believable.
Yeah, I've got another word for that that starts with an "S" too. :rolleyes1
Did you find anything?
I actually found thermals at Target! :thumbsup2

If I had your cell phone number I texted you with the new number. If you didn't get it let me know. I will be emailing everybody too!
Yes, thanks for the text at 5:30 this morning. :headache:
:rotfl2:
The kids have a dermatologist appt this afternoon. We are still trying to get rid of those darn Mollescum (sp?) things.
:confused3
Goats are unhappy---they are huddled in a giant goat lump to stay warm.
Awww... poor goats!
CE---Daran has a white F150 and for some reason, it always looks cleaner than mine---even now with all the salt and snow.
Ok, so I've been reading about this salt and snow... why the heck is there salt in the snow? :confused:

********************************************
Good Morning!

The kids are off to school in this glorious weather! Yes, I am bragging. ;) I hate to leave this warmth and enter the Artic! Yeah, you're going to hear a lot of whining from me for the next or so. :teeth:

We scored some jeans for Andy and thermals for both of us. Hopefully our jackets along with lots of layers will keep us warm enough. If they don't I'm sure a hot toddy will take care of any chill. :thumbsup2

I finished all the laundry, so I can start packing today. Hope to get it all done by the afternoon. Tomorrow is going to be crazy!

BBL! :hippie:

Good afternoon everyone!!!

We got to bed at a human hour so I am actually awake and determined not to sit around all day!

The plans for the vow renewal are slow going even tho I want to get the invites out by Monday. I need to make some calls today and finalize it all.

and maybe,..just maybe...ill get to a TR update. LOL.

Happy Hump Day!

T-- :teacher: they put salt on the roads to melt the S-N-O-W ! ;)

problem is...it doesn't work as well when the temp is this cold (under 20)...and it can be hard on vehicles (like salt water!) :thumbsup2

Janet- Did you get a fancy new phone? Do you like it?

Got a Motorola Rival. Not an iphone or anything, but giid for what I need I don't use the phone for internet or anythinglike that! We switched providers and got new numbers!:thumbsup2

Sorry I have been MIA on the Focker thread---someone here got me addicted to FB......then Farmville....then Cafe World........:rolleyes:

Not me:littleangel:

Another snow day here---BA is still in bed (and it's 11 am for those not in my time zone!). Ab is ticked that she can't drive and now hates snow! (I think that's where you officially leave childhood behind--when snow becomes annoying!)

Wonder if they have salt in Florida? They will probably declare a state of emergency and ask everyone to donate their table salt :lmao:

The only thing we won't get is the Comcast Sport Channel, which means no home Phillies games, but hey we'll teach jimmy early and take him to the bar:rotfl2:
:rotfl: That was one thing I wasn't willing to part with on the satellite, baseball & football.

Just popping in to say hi. Was up late last night playing with the new cell phone. If I had your cell phone number I texted you with the new number. If you didn't get it let me know. I will be emailing everybody too!
I know you didn't text me because you didn't want any more IASM pictures. :rolleyes1

Angela- Good luck on the errands. When exactly is Mitch leaving and does he know how long?
This weekend for GA for 3 weeks then back for he doesn't know how long, then to WI in March, Germany in April, Kosovo in July. :rolleyes: Just leave so you can get back! :headache:

Ab is ticked that she can't drive and now hates snow! (I think that's where you officially leave childhood behind--when snow becomes annoying!)
Sadly, she's right. :sad2:

My parents spent $45 for their suitcases on line. At the airport it would have been $60! :scared1: Insanity!

We went to Chili's and had two for one at lunch. Now I'd like to nap, and since it's so cold, I don't feel like doing much. :rolleyes1

Jo- Yea for NO SCHOOL! I just wish we could stay home for a few inches or below 0 temps. No FAIR! ;) Did you go Sledging?
The local one was open but the girls school is about 20 miles away on some country roads :goodvibes

The kids have a dermatologist appt this afternoon. We are still trying to get rid of those darn Mollescum (sp?) things.
Have they still got them? Ellie's disappeared on their own but it took about 18 months!

Sorry I have been MIA on the Focker thread---someone here got me addicted to FB......then Farmville....then Cafe World........:rolleyes:
I've given up on Cafe World it slowed my computer up too much!!!

2" Jo surely you jest thtthey closed school !:confused3We have 2 feet and chools are open !!:rotfl2: Iknow we are prepared wit ploughs and salt and other places aren't!!!
Their school is about 20 miles away and they get there on an old double decker bus via some country roads. There was also more snow there than here! Great bargains by the way :rotfl2:

Jo snow is not as common in Kent as here !!! So I can understand the excitment !!!:banana:

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great Xmas and New Years. We went to Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights and just hung around the house for the rest of the time off. Kids went back to school yesterday and now they are saying it is supposed to SNOW tomorrow or Friday. I'm hoping they don't miss any school because we already have vacation planned when they have their built in snow days. We never use those inclement weather days, so I booked the days. I just booked them Monday. I hate for ds to miss any more school He was out for 2 weeks in December with virus, strep, and pneumonia.

Our anniversary was Monday and I got a serger and a coach wallet. I bought ds a Blu-Ray player. It was the wireless ready and they showed me at the store which wireless adapter to buy and when he opened it, it was not compatible. So I had to take it back. The adapter that is compatible is way too expensive and by the time I buy it, I could have just bought the wireless BluRay. So now, I am trying to find him a wireless blu ray and everyone is out.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

But September....

I got an email from Jet Blue that they had released the fares for Sept and they had $89 one way fares, which is the cheapest I have seen in a loooong time.
WOW! You got some great deals! Sounds like a fun trip. I really want to try Aquatica.
So did I menetion that Jim's job is offering a medical insurance opt-out? Basically if you have other medical insurance you can drop the insurance with the school district and they will PAY YOU 1/3 of what their cost was.
Ooohh! That is good! More Disney vacation money for you!

I need to get invitations for our anniversary party.
What day is your anniversary and how long married?

UMm, it was all good until one of the German boys was kissing on the middle daughter. :eek: Rockie had a cow. She took the boy, mind you, all 6'4" of him, outside and had a 'chat'. I just tried to keep everybody dancing.

:rotfl2: That cracked me up!
I see you have the count down already for ip dip 3.
Had a ton of quote, pushed something weird, and lost them all.
I also don't like the way the Flex looks, but the inside is super nice!:thumbsup2
What did you end up deciding? Did you you get a car? What color?

We headed to DLR today to get our last little bit of Magic in before school starts tomorrow. We arrive 10 mins after rope drop and the flippin' place was EMPTY!
Sweet!~ :thumbsup2
Sorry I have been MIA on the Focker thread---someone here got me addicted to FB......then Farmville....then Cafe World........:rolleyes:
My sisters got me addicted to Sorority Life. I quit doing everything else. I opened my ds an fb acct because he likes farmville and fishville. I might add you as a friend on his acct. He needs more neighbors.
I did a request through his acct to Rosie, but I don't think she has accepted yet. Probably b/c she didn't know who it was.
So - if you see a friend request from Grayson, please accept it.
Well, I'm almost packed. The problem is, there's no room for Andy's stuff. :lmao:

We went to the one in Concord, NC. We stayed 1 night over 4th of July weekend and they emailed us a code for a 2 night stay. We love it! The rooms are really nice and the theming is great. The staff are all really friendly. You can find some discount codes online. The rooms are very spacious. The standard room has 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa bed. There is a wall that separates the beds from the sofa/tv area. The cub suite has a small room for the kids with bunk beds and a tv. I'll post a pic on facebook later tonight. The rest of the room has a queen bed and a sofa bed with a tv. They also have a kid suite that has 3 beds in the kids room.

When we stayed in July, we also took my nephew. We were in the standard room and even though it sleeps 6, they added $40 to the room charge for the 3rd child.

Only the Lodge guests can use the waterpark (we went to Wilderness in Tn and other people can pay to use the waterpark.). The one thing I did not like is that you have to keep the wristband on the entire time you are there and I thought it got uncomfortable when I was sleeping. The cool thing about the wristband is that it is also your room key, though.

They have a lot of activities for the kids. For 4th of July, they had facepainting, a petting zoo, and arts and crafts. When we were there this time, they had photos with Santa and it "snowed" in the lobby. Every night they have a clock tower show and bed time stories.

Thanks !!! Cythia has also posted on these !!! I have to show Judy ad see she wants to do that, NYC or Splash Lagoon this spring !!

:snooty:

Good Luck with the plans Kat and have a productive day !! Any luck with the job search???

I have been applying online every day but so far not much return going on.

We went to Chili's and had two for one at lunch. Now I'd like to nap, and since it's so cold, I don't feel like doing much. :rolleyes1

I miss Chili's! The nearest one is on Long Island and FAR. I saw commercials for Red Lobsters 2 for 29.99 dinner, I think we may have to check that out soon!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not too bad of a day, got most of my to-do list done. Split Pea Soup is on the stove and i'm making some grilled cheese's to go with it when KC gets home. I cleaned out my makeup drawer and the closet, posted some things on freecycle, started to write out my invitations and cleaned out the desk area.
Just watching some more of Season 3 of Friends and relaxing now. I am about to do an update on my TR! :scared1:
What:angel:
Well, I'm almost packed. The problem is, there's no room for Andy's stuff. :lmao: I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pull down another suitcase. Ca-ching! Dammit.:headache:
Dude you are only going for 4 days, how much stuf are you taking?????
DOn't make the poor man go nekkid. It's gonna be cold:laughing:
:rotfl: That was one thing I wasn't willing to part with on the satellite, baseball & football.
We will get the MLB Channel and the NHL Channel, but they blackout the locak games:headache:
I know you didn't text me because you didn't want any more IASM pictures. :rolleyes1
Nope, I lost your number:guilty:. PM it to me and I will text you:goodvibes
This weekend for GA for 3 weeks then back for he doesn't know how long, then to WI in March, Germany in April, Kosovo in July. :rolleyes: Just leave so you can get back! :headache:
WI in March:eek: How like the army...no real idea what they are doing:sad2:
How long will be in Kosovo:hug:
We went to Chili's and had two for one at lunch. Now I'd like to nap, and since it's so cold, I don't feel like doing much. :rolleyes1
We have checked out the GW in the Poconos (1.5 hours from here) but Jimmy isn't that into water slides, so I can't see spending the money. Looks so cool though.
Where are you going? Disney?
I hate for ds to miss any more school He was out for 2 weeks in December with virus, strep, and pneumonia.
Poor kiddo!
Hey all. Pretty good day here. Jimmy had an assembly at school and he got 4 certificates. One for class particiaption. One for Good Work Habits. One for particiapation in the Science Fair and one for Most Enthusiastic Reader. He has read 160 books since the beginning of the school year:thumbsup2 I was a little perturbed though,becasue he asked why I wasn't there. I didn't think parents were invited becasue it just had it marked on the calander as an assembly, but he sdaid lots of parents were there:headache:
Now we are just hanging out until bed time. This weather is making us all sleepy!
Just pop a brightly-colored Mickey antenna topper on there and you'll find her! :thumbsup2
There you go! We did get the white one, btw. ;)
And for all those who scoffed about our deep freeze down here... the weather gal this morning mentioned the S-word - that's right SNOW!!! :faint: We may see some sleet and/or flurries this weekend. Un-believable.
Gosh, I don't have snow in the forecast this week. :scared1:
Just popping in to say hi. Was up late last night playing with the new cell phone. If I had your cell phone number I texted you with the new number. If you didn't get it let me know. I will be emailing everybody too!
CE- I hate car payments too! Hopefully you can find what you like, with the smallest payments possible. I agree with V about the antenna topper. That was funny!
Thanks, I think we got a good deal and we can afford the payments, but it's still going to take some getting used to, you know?
DH took the kids to school for me and I'm going to try to take a little AM nap. DH's alarm woke me up at 5. I think he didn't set it correctly with his phone (it's a synching kind). Darn me for getting him a new alarm for Christmas.
I hate the dang early alarm, though D's is always on purpose...
CE---I don't see a car pic??? What kind is it?
Got the white Taurus X, didn't take pictures, we pick it up on Friday. :thumbsup2
(I think that's where you officially leave childhood behind--when snow becomes annoying!)
::yes::
Goats are unhappy---they are huddled in a giant goat lump to stay warm.
Something about the phrase "giant goat lump" made me laugh so hard I cried. :rotfl:
My mom had a white car for a few years-she said she much preferred ti in snow etc to the black car she had later.
Yeah, I knew black would be bad, and we've had silver for so long... The white looked pretty good, all in all! It's much creamier than I anticipated, so it's pretty. :lovestruc
CE---Daran has a white F150 and for some reason, it always looks cleaner than mine---even now with all the salt and snow. Of course, I picked mine cause it's Hokie maroon color---so that's important too!
See, I think it just blends in! :thumbsup2
Well I scored at Target I got a Christmas tree for$6 als nice christmas stockings 29c , candy for a dime !! Ilso picked up some in rom snx and breakfast bars etc for next month! Of course I hit the Travel size aisle got some sunscreen for my carryon!! I know V I am being optimistic !!!
Awesome!
I finished all the laundry, so I can start packing today. Hope to get it all done by the afternoon. Tomorrow is going to be crazy!
What time do you go?
Good afternoon everyone!!!
We got to bed at a human hour so I am actually awake and determined not to sit around all day!
Have fun!
Wonder if they have salt in Florida? They will probably declare a state of emergency and ask everyone to donate their table salt :lmao:
:rotfl2:
Reeeally. Well that's good to know. Thank you, wise one. ;)
It helps the roads immensely, but for example on my street, since we all have our own wells, they don't use much as it would also corrupt the water supply. :teacher: But the parking lots, main roads, etc. all are covered.
We went to Chili's and had two for one at lunch. Now I'd like to nap, and since it's so cold, I don't feel like doing much. :rolleyes1
Welcome to Nov-Apr for me... ;)
The girls have been playing in the snow all day and D and I went for a long walk. We then cleared the drive and path etc but since then we've had a few more inches and it's still snowing so no school again tomorrow :thumbsup2
Wow, I think you've had more snow that me, even!
Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great Xmas and New Years.
We did, thanks! Sounds good for you, too!
I also don't like the way the Flex looks, but the inside is super nice!:thumbsup2
What did you end up deciding? Did you you get a car? What color?
Found a great Taurus X with low miles and every amenity I could ever ask for. I think it's going to take me a week to figure out the radio, and I'm pretty techie. :rolleyes:
Hey all. Pretty good day here. Jimmy had an assembly at school and he got 4 certificates.
Fantastic!
*******************************************************
Sorry, I started this post and then D decided that it was time to take the tree out. ;)
So, yeah. We went down and drove the white loaded one, then the red one. Decided they were both beautifully cared for and it was just a matter of lower miles with really good options, or a little higher miles (but still good) with EVERYTHING. It took us a while to choose, but we wound up dealing for the white one. Got a decent amount for trade, and it was priced well under book value anyway. It rides like a dream. :thumbsup2
D felt that the brake pedal was just slightly "spongy" so they needed to check that out for us, and I needed to deal with some registration/insurance things due to the fact that we bought in Massachusetts but of course live in NH. ;)
We're picking it up Friday - I called the insurance on the way home and went to the town hall to deal with the registration after the kids got home. So, we're ready, and that's good. The dealership just slightly beat the credit union loan rate, so we did that there.
I'm half excited and half thinking "boy, we just spent a lot of money." :rotfl: But truly, it's exactly what we wanted, I don't think we could have done better, and it's going to be good! :cool1:
Well it's back to work tomorrow !!!! So I better hav an early night for a change !!!Chat tomorrow !!
