Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Jimmy is now a Wolf Scout and quite proud of himself!:thumbsup2
Fantastic :thumbsup2

Some pix from my February trip!!
They're great Rosie :goodvibes

Dave and the girls have gone into London today to be VIP's at a cinema in the west end for the preview of Nickelodons The Big Rush. Jess especially is excited I'm just hoping they get some goodies. I know it's cool to go but...... :rotfl2: I have a golf match and today was meant to be the hottest so far this year yet it's just started raining  That's good for the London marathon runners but not me :rotfl2:

The pictures are too cute, Rosie! Loved the amigos.
Jo: sorry to hear it's chucking down. Lol. Here too, but I don't mind. I'm not playing golf. Do they reschedule the games you miss for inclement weather?
Janet: Ah, Blue and Gold! Fond memories. Hug Jimmy for us. Moving up in scouts is a hard job with lots of work.

Sorry guys. I know there was more I wanted to reference, but my brain is fried. Thank you all, SO MUCH, for the condolences. Got home last night from the wake/funeral etc. NB and I cried our eyes out fir most of the wake. It was so hard to see his children like that. He was an amazing dad and they are going to miss him. The service was lovely though and there were tons of people there. John was the consumate sales guy, he would've lovedtge attention. Lol. The VP of the co. Was there and pretty much told NB that the job is his. Though it entails a HUGE raise (and I DO mean huge) I am pretty sure NB does not want it. Stress stress stress.

Anyhow, the funeral was sad, as you'd imagine. NB had to do that without me as I was at the open house for SDs college of choice. I was so pleased with everything we saw!!!! Well, I guess for 120k you'd better be pleased.....
The school is exclusively a business college with a huge emphasis on entrepenuerial enterprise. He's seeking a double major Econ/banking and Finance with an Entrepenuer minor. Whew! The profs were all amazing, gorgeous wooded campus which was so clean! Food was good, small teacher to student ratios (20:1) and they had all th tvs in the common areas set to Foxnews. LOL. They can have my money.

Now were finally home. I have a ton oflaundry to do, homework to help Gus with and I'm going to make Ts shredded pork tacos for dinner.

Hope you're all well. Have we heard from our Southern Focker since thoseawful storms yesterday?

Mel:banana:

Thanks! Just a 4-day to Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Cool!:thumbsup2 You'll have to let me know if you like it or not. We have never been on a cruise, but were thinking of doing a 4 day one.

Did they win the tickets? Sounds like fun. Raining here too:sad2:

Yep, JImmy loves it though!:thumbsup2

That's nice for NB, but wasn't it kind of rude to do at the funeral???? Or am I just being over sensitive:confused3

::yes::

Rosie - Love the pictures.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hey all. Rainy, dreary day here. Jim is running to do the grocery shopping and I am doing laundry. Jimmy is watching a Hot Wheels movie on TV.

Mel telling about SD picking out college reminded me that I didn't tell you about my nephew (my godson). He got accepted to Neumann College (small catholic College not far from my house) and he won a $9,000 per year scholarship:banana: I had to laugh though, we were chatting on FB and he asked me if that was good. I told him he should ask his dad's wallet how good it is:lmao:

Another week of work/school starting tomorrow. Jimmy has a therapist appointment tomorrow, Jim has a game on Tuesday, but other than that it is a fairly easy week:thumbsup2 NExt weekend we do need to go to my brothers house to shope at "Steve's Camping Store";) Jim and Jimmy are borrowing the stuff that they need for their campout at the zoo and then their Pack campout in June.

Hope you are all having a good day!:goodvibes

Janet: Sorry, that wasn't clear.... He didn't say at the funeral. It was on the phone sometime during the weekend. And, though it's still sort of rude in my opinion, this guy was 4th from the top so his passing has a HUGE impact. They have to fill the position asap!
Things are a mess and poor NB is a wreck. I don't care if he does the job or not; I just want him to not be stressed.

So sorry NB was upset and you too Mel . I understand about the job offer .. money is nice but STRESS is not:scared1:

Jo hope the rain doesn't ruin your golf game today!!:worship:

To all who commented on my pix ..Thanks !!:worship: I will post more from time to time !! We had a BALL with the 4 crazy Dissers !!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

That makes sense. Give NB a  for us. He needs to make the decision he (and you) are most comfotable with. Stress is just NOT worth the money somtimes:hug::hug::hug:

Third load of laundry in. Kitchen, DR, and LR straightened and dusted and hoovered. Waiting for Jim to come home from grocery shopping before I start on the bathroom and then switching out the winter clothes for spring/summer stuff in Jimmy's room. I normally could do it while Jimmy just watched TV or whatever, but we have to keep a close eye on him for a while;)

Hi all. i have been popping in now and again but too busy to quote. Hope everyone has been having a good weekend.

++++++++++++++

It's been rainy and cool here all day which is good in some ways. My grandsons baseball games were postponed. One is Tuesday and one is next week. I have been trying to get my schoolwork done, the final starts tomorrow and I want to try and take it by wednesday. I had my DIL's birthday tuesday, my grandson's friday with the party yesterday and my dad's today. Busy week with all that.

I leave friday for Disney, 5 days :woohoo:. I went through all my latest purchases and I can actually pack tonight. I have all new clothes for the trip. I have checked the weather forecasts and it looks like it will be sunny but very warm a couple of days. I think I am going to email my aunt and ask her to pick up a case of water. The 3 of us over 4 days should use it all up.
I now have to go and buy all the last minute things like sunscreen, a book for the plane the little things. I have almost all of my camera gear ready. Last trip I took close to 3,000 pics. My ECV is ordered and the orthopedist ordered me in it. I tore a ligament in my foot and it's not healing. I now need to work on my lists. am trying not to go commando but there are some things I have to keep track of.

I will probably pop on here and there but will be busy for the next couple of days. Have a good afternoon.

HI Fockers,

Well, it's a rainy, dreary Sunday here in the Northeast.

I went ahead and canceled the BCV reservation for Sept. I'm going with the Swan. To be honest I am so mad at DVC these days, I almost regret buying. The latest screwup is my DVC login hasn't worked in at least a month. When I called a few weeks ago, they didn't get my birthdate and never submitted the form (I also emailed around the same time).

So I called again to day to see what was up as I still couldn't log in.

WHen they told me today about the form never being submitted I was like REALLY!?!?! You have no problem sending me marketing carp via email and snail mail just about every other day, but you couldn't get in touch with me for my birthdate to fix my log on????

There really is no excuse for this, so I called back and canceled my reservation for Sept. This after "losing points", which were eventually found but what a PITA. Add the disappearing perks and reallocation of nightly points and I think I need a DVC break. I am really excited to try the Swan, reviews say it is the quieter of the 2 resorts which sound pretty good to me right now.

In other vacation news, I have 25 days until Italy. OMG, I can't wait, before the DVC annoyance, I had been reading up on some of the places I will be visiting. Also, I will have almost a whole day in Rome to myself when I arrive and I have been trying to decide how I want to spend it. I think I will take a tour of the Forum and Palantine Hill as my tour only offers "a view of the Forum on the way to the tour of the Colesseum." Translate, we drive by the Forum on the bus. From what I understand the Forum is within walking distance of my hotel.

The other good news, my foot dr. has found flip flops and sandals with orthotics built in, and they aren't ugly either. I just ordered 2 pair to try this summer, may have found new Disney shoes. Even Doc said these would be ok for Disney (we nomally avoid my shoe choice as I know he would not approve of my crocs).

They are called orthaheels if you want to google them.

I won't have them in time to break in for Italy, so I am taking croc cleos and adaras (along with a pair of easy spirit walking shoes that my orthotics fit in).

Well that's it.

Hope everyone is doing great.

Enjoy your week!

Sorrry about your DVC woes Mo!!!

I am the first to post today !! Well actually I am about to do my overnite check so I am up late:rotfl2:

I can go ahead and answer this.....YES!!
I went on a Disney cruise in 1992 when it was operated by Premiere Cruise Lines.

Jim and I are leary with Jimmy..just where could we take him if he HATES it! Somehow I think they'd frown upon us taking one of the life boats;)

I leave friday for Disney, 5 days :woohoo:.

:woohoo:

Yikes. What a PITA! Like I said my girlfriend stayed there with her family and loved it:goodvibes

Is this an Adventures by Disney trip or did you book this one yourself?

Don't blink:rotfl:

Good morning all:goodvibes Rainy, dreary day here. Jimmy has a therapist appointment today, but Jim taking him to that. I am work (yay:rolleyes1). Not much else going on. It actually should be a quiet week:goodvibes

Yay! Have a great trip! :cool1:

Hey Mo? You're so not alone. Ask T or LL - I think I complained about the loss of free valet for 3 months straight, lol! I decided to gice it a fair shot this summer, and if it's not living up to expectations, and the market improves, I may sell. Know what pushed me over the edge? Staying at a GORGEOUS, 3 bdrm./3 bath condo in Reunion with LL. Those are renting by owner as low as $120/ night!
In other vacation news, I have 25 days until Italy.
No way?! Pleaspleasepleaseplease write a TR for this one?! :yay:

Sorry, I kinda replied at random there, didn't I?! :rotfl: Hope everyone's having a good start to the week. I'm working on a bazilion projects today, and gearing up for a little WDW weekend soon. ;) Not much else happening here. :surfweb:

Did they have a good time??

Rainy here today too....but Daran says we need the rain....goats say NO!

My little kitty Boots had his 1 year old birthday yesterday----well, actually, we don't know his real birthday since he found us, but it was my Grandpa's birthday and it's pretty close! He's still pretty small---and really spoiled. He just jumped up on my lap--he likes the keyboard for some reason?? Sound? I dunno.

So what does my ticker say?? I know I'm getting close to my cruise. Bought some memory cards and a waterproof camera this am. We fly outta Charlotte on the 15th and will stay the nite in Ft Lauderdale.
Any cruise packing tips appreciated!

Also trying to plan the paris trip....

So far........3 nites in Paris (with Versaille on 3rd day)
3 nites in Germany
2 nites near DLP

I am working on the schedule for the 1st 3 days. We land at 7:30 am.........but we can't check in till 2 pm. One book said to do outside stuff since we'll be dead tired....Eiffel tower??

Tips please! And I've been pouring over CEs pics----but I still don't know what kind of shoes to wear. I wear tennis shoes when I have to walk a lot.:confused3

Stressing over the food budget too......looks like high prices there.

Mo----when is your trip again?? I saw 25 days!! What's your schedule?

TE,

There is a lot of good info at cruisecritic.com. My name over there is Mrs. Chernabog.

Ooo, ooo, ooo pick me, pick me! :rotfl: YES, walking outside is your best bet when you arrive. We arrived about the same time of morning; check in at our hotel and left our luggage and then just wandered around the St. Germain des Pres area and had lunch. Went back to the hotel for a short nap in the afternoon, and then went back out for shopping and dinner. It definitely helped get us on Parisian time.

As for shoes, I vote for comfort first; it's a lot of walking and a variety of surfaces; if tennis shoes work, use 'em. Just maybe bring a dressier something for dinners. :thumbsup2

Yes and no, we found. In cafes, restaurants, etc.? For sure. We wound up stopping at a lot of sandwich shops, creperies and boulangeries, though, and they were much more economical.

To be honest I am so mad at DVC these days, I almost regret buying.

This is why I had no problem using 3 years of points for the cruise. For some odd reason, the cruise points for 2011 are less than 2010. Weird?

Chernabog?? Where'd that come from?? I haven't been over there in a while. I met some folks on the carnival connections board and have been chatting with them! We are decorating our stateroom doors with college stuff---several gators and tenn fans so I have to outdo them! :lmao:

What did you decide about your cruise? Kids or no?? Ab said she thought she'd be afraid....BA is ready whenever we wanna go----which will probably be in 10 years after we pay off this year.

:thumbsup2We are staying near the Arc de Triomphe. I was trying to decide if we could walk to the eiffel tower but it looks pretty far....and across the river. We can get tickets online to go up but I gotta figure out what time would be best. Plus I'll have 2 teen girls dying to get a shower and freshen up.

Do you remember any good sandwich / cheaper places? We get breakfast at the hotel which will help but I am worried about the other meals for all 4 of us.

What area is St Germain in?

What kind of bag did you carry?

Abby's french teacher is making her a "survival" packet and she is working after school with her to get her conversation skills up to par....which is good cause I know zip about French! Her teacher is really excited about her going though!

We watched Marie Antionette the other night---anyone seen it?? I LOVED it...Daran hated it....he likes "real" history movies.
We loved seeing Versaille tho and it clicked for BA where we were going. :thumbsup2

Really?!?? Maybe I am not going to rush into at this point then. We were thinking we would take the plunge when we go back, but I think maybe I will wait now

That's great, she should give her extra credit!;)

Daran hated it....he likes "real" history movies.

OMG, are he and Jim related.:confused3

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Sorry I just had to get that off my chest. It just never ends. THe nurse at school called this morning and of course scared me to death when the phone rang. She tells me Jimmy has pink eye. Um, no he doesn't. There is no that he contracted pink eye in the 30 minutes since I have seen him. It's his allergies. I had to run home, get his eye drops, take them to school and then come back to work. Can I have a vacation now?????

Do you remember any good sandwich / cheaper places? We get breakfast at the hotel which will help but I am worried about the other meals for all 4 of us.
Honestly, don't worry about it ahead of time; they're everywhere. Ask when you get to your hotel and I'm certain they'll have a few favorites they'll point out, but food is truly everywhere you turn!
What area is St Germain in?
Left Bank, 6th arrondisement. We stayed in the 5th, in the Latin Quarter.

I actually don't remember, but I just got this one for WDW and LOVE it!:
