Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Nana passed away at 11:15 am today. Very peacefully--both her children were present. Really hard day. Looks like the funeral will be Sat.
Oh TE, I'm so sorry! Thinking of you and your family. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Havent been here in AGES(do you even remember me LOL)
Of COURSE! It's so good to see you over here again T2! :hug:

DS8 is still playing hockey. OMG it is a HUGE commitment.
LOL, welcome to Hockey Mom-hood! Two of my cousins started playing as youngsters and never stopped... they're in their 30s now and my aunt is still going to games, washing uniforms, feeding the team, etc. ! ;)
Back to disney in Nov!!!4th time this year!!:woohoo::woohoo:
Ooo, when?! I know some peeps who'll be there over Thanksgiving-ish. ;)

We're planning a trip late next Oct. (hint, hint) :rolleyes1 ;)
Funny you should mention that - next on my morning to-do list is email you for dates - the DVC window will open soon! :woohoo:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not much to report here. We're still in allergy-hell, but at least temperatures have finally come down - highs in the mid-80s and lows in the 60s! This is why we Floridians put up with summers. :cloud9:
School is coming along. I don't have much free time left over, but I'm keeping up with coursework without feeling like I'm overwhelmed, so that's nice.
Food & Wine is this weekend... I'm MORE than ready! :banana:
Leo's doing well; we've all agreed that Gramma will be in charge of helping him with math homework from now on. ;) She and Leo speak the same math language; I don't. LOL! He finally went back to barn club last weekend, and having that time with the chickens, goats and horses seems to have restored his soul some. :goodvibes
Gotta run now, but I'm sending good thoughts to our friends in need today. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
The heck with it I was going to try and quote but I keep getting called away from my desk. geez, these people actually expect to work to get that paycheck:laughing:
Thank you all for the hugs and good thoughts. I don't know what to think at this point. I talked to my mom last night and she sounded great. She said the nurse was there and helped her take a shower and that she was eating a sandwich and soup when I called. :confused3
TE - So sorry for your loss.
Angela - LET'S GO PHILLIES:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:;)
V - Is Food and Wine Fest Adults only or is Leo heading over too? Have a great time.
Otherwise it crazy as normal. Came into work at 7:30,so I could leave early for Jimmy's OT appointment. He has a half day today, so he will be at the after school program a little longer than he normally is. After OT, I have to come home and organize more stuff for our garage sale on Saturday. Oh, and I have to watch the Phillies game:cheer2:
Hope you are all having a good day:goodvibes
That's great news, Janet. Hopefully she'll get some of her strength back and she'll be ok. :hug:
Hi everyone
Hi :wave2: Sounds like your 2 have really grown up!
Eye is still red !!:scared1:
How long till it goes down?
Fantastic and that sounds like a fun club!
Well that sounds positive, what is actually wrong? Any plans to go down?
Had another golf match today, it was the start of the county winter competition, and to start I did rubbish but finally my good golf came back and we thrashed the opposition 6 & 5 :woohoo: Only another 7 matches to go to see if we go through to the next round :rotfl2:
I then went to the dentist and I think I may need to shell out about $350 for a guard thing as I have a really clicky jaw. Did I tell you? About 8/9 months ago my jaw really started clunking I went to the Dr and they said it was ligaments and nothing could be done. Well the dentist said we could retrain the muscles and 90% of people recover completely using a shield thing and maybe reshaping a back tooth. It doesn't hurt but it's pretty scary as the noise is so loud, mainly in cold weather though so I suppose a shield is cheaper than moving to a hotter climate :rotfl2:
Housing is cheap in FL right now - just saying! ;)
I found a house I want to buy in FL, but K says that he's sure he can't get a job there for what he makes here. :sad2:
We're going to be at WDW next Thanksgiving. :banana: I can't wait to read everyone's reports on how it is during that time of year.
F&W was really yummy this year, but they ran out of 3 things within 45 mins of opening. :mad: There were also some wasted kids that may or may not have been 21 that were a pain in the butt. They were trying to throw one girl in the fountain in France. :headache: :mad:
Janet--- I'm so glad your mom's doing better. :cutie:
I know you!!! :cutie: How was your trip? I spent all last week wishing I was at BLT. I'll never stay another place again! :lovestruc
Aug trip was great!!HOT!!! we started collecting vinylmations to get out of the heat and it has become an obsession for my kids (and DH and I too;)) seems everytime we go we still find something new to do/try
Did you go on your adult only trip yet??
T
I hear, ya.... I thought with both kids in school, I'd have more time. Sadly that's not the case!
Wow, sounds like your DS is really doing great in hockey! That's great! :thumbsup2
I'm jealous.... 4 TRIPS!!! :worship: We're planning a trip late next Oct. (hint, hint) :rolleyes1 ;)
With the new WDW Hawaii opening we may finally get out your way!!!we plan to stop to/from hawaii at DL .
Of COURSE! It's so good to see you over here again T2! :hug:
************
WOW 2 days in a row:laughing:
another crazy day of running around. Homework then hockey . Also need to start getting some stuff ready for WDW. We got an owners locker at the beginning of the year:love: and I want to replenish some stuff when we go
have a great day everyone!!
I found a house I want to buy in FL, but K says that he's sure he can't get a job there for what he makes here.
I can't disagree with him on that - wages do tend to be a bit lower here. BUT, so is the cost of living in most of the state, so it evens out quite a bit. Mo and I talked property taxes when she was down here... I nearly threw up hearing about Jersey rates! Mine was around $1080 last year for a 1700sf condo; friends in NY tell me I could expect to pay triple or quadruple that for the same condo there! :faint: Also, no state income tax. I frankly wish we did have it, but it does brings the cost of living down.
We're going to be at WDW next Thanksgiving. :banana: I can't wait to read everyone's reports on how it is during that time of year.
We're probably skipping it this year (I'm still holding my Tutto ADR for Thanksgiving Day, just in case, lol!), but we've been the past few years - love it! Crowded, but still fun. :thumbsup2
There were also some wasted kids that may or may not have been 21 that were a pain in the butt. They were trying to throw one girl in the fountain in France. :headache: :mad:
We enjoy messing with those people when we go. :grin:
With the new WDW Hawaii opening we may finally get out your way!!!we plan to stop to/from hawaii at DL .
That's our plan, too - summer 2012! :thumbsup2 I HATE flying, so we'll get to LA and take a break before picking up T and family to continue on to Hawaii - how much fun would it be to have a bunch of us going?! :banana:
Your back to school...wow I dont know how you do it V:worship:
I am, and at the expense of mental health and most of a social life, lol! But this is it - I've only got 2 more semesters to go after this one and I'll have that damn degree. :cool1:
Good Afternoon Fockers!!!
Janet, I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better. I'll keep her in my thoughts
TE, I so sorry for your loss. It's nice that she had family around her as she passed.:littleangel:
TAZ - Just woke up and realized that it is October and she needs to get her rump in gear for the trip.
ROSIE - Ready for her departure in another week.
CE - Overrun with kids and house work which is making her a little grumpy. (This is a theme for a lot of us this week.) D is back.
JANET - says the kids loved the Fire Expo last wknd. She is trying to get the Halloween decor going.
T - Had some awesome pizza on Route 66. She is making an Indy Jones costume!
Dawn and Mel are back. They had a great time.
JO - The family had fun in the water last wknd. A grumpy Jess = A grumpy Jo. She didn't like the way she played at the final tournament. They did come out OK though. Now she is on to a new tourny.
KAT - Having fun with a BFF and the family.
Boys5150 - Back for Focker fun. 1 in Kinder, 1 in Hockey. She is a busy mom. She is doing Disney in Nov.
V - Still fighting with allergies. Doing F&W this wknd. She has decided that gramma's new job is helping Leo with math.
:cutie::cutie::cutie::cutie::cutie::cutie::cutie:
I'm taking a break right now at home.
Work was a mess. It will still be a mess this week. I haven't hardly had time to go to the bathroom.
I am doing the fall clean-up thing in the other half of my basement. Lots of books and junk that belong to Doug. Plus it is dirty and dusty. I have a couple of plastic totes and a pile. The totes are for 'Keep' and 'Sell'. The pile is 'Trash'. Guess which pile is the biggest so far?
I also went through our clothing yesterday. 2 bags for Goodwill. I am now prepared for winter in that department. Not in my head though.
I took the new Pentax for a test drive today. Here's some photos.
The first 2 are indoors in our living room - dark. You can't tell by the photos.
These obviously are outside in the nice sunshine we are having today.
Firstly, my little Optio could never get a good picture indoors unless it was very bright. They were always too pixelly and dead on the color. This camera does so much better.
Secondly, the dogs were moving for the most part. The shots are very crisp. I only deleted one and I think I actually didn't wait for the camera to focus before I snapped it.
I guess you could say I'm very happy with my purchase. So far it is very easy to use. All the settings are easy to find. Most that I will use will be automatic after I pick the situation. I can use manual if I want but I can't adjust it as quickly as the camera can for each setting. I can't wait to try it out at WDW!
I get to work again for 4 nights starting tomorrow night. Then I'm off for 2 and work for 2-1/2 more nights. We will leave early on the 18th. I'm getting so antsy.
Chat at ya' later!!!
:grouphug:
Really? Mine clicks more in cold weather and I can feel my jaw moving, it kind of goes a little sideways. And it's so noisy but thankfully no pain :thumbsup2 I'll let you know if I do the shield
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers! :goodvibes
Another long day---spent the afternoon at the funeral home working on arrangements. Luckily, Nana had pre-arranged stuff over 20 years ago. The casket she picked out (baby blue BTW) was $4000 when she bought it....and worth $14,000 today! She would be happy she got a good deal!
I worked on her video tribute which I think will be nice--picked Amazing Grace as the background song.
The funeral home viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is Friday.
I have been off work all week---went back yesterday just to pick up her belongings and it was really sad. Everyone hugged me. Will miss her. :sad1:
++++++++
Janet---how is your mom today? Sounded like she was rallying!
Hey all! How is everyone today? Talked to mom a little bit ago. SHe sounded a bit weak, but still spunky:thumbsup2
She told memy brothers (did I tell you they went down despite my father and mother telling them NOT too) are getting on her nerves:lmao:
She is rallying to a point, but she also making sure everything is taken care of:sad1:
She was excited when I told her that Jimmy FINALLY learned how to tie his shoes and also that he had started his MG testing:cheer2:
I have cousins calling me (that I haven't talked to in years:rolleyes:) and telling me what I NEED to do and that I should IGNORE what my parents want. Needless to say they are on my last nerve and I haven't been answering the calls when they come:rolleyes1
On top of this we still have our normal craziness. Scouts tomorrow, Garage Sale on Saturday and Soccer on Sunday. Luckily Monday is a holiday for us:woohoo:
Thanks for letting me vent. Chat with you all later:goodvibes
:faint: I'm sure you meant BRAVES :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: ;)
Glad to hear the good news about your mother. :hug:
Um, yeah...sure...ok...that's what I meant;)
WELCOME TO RED DOCTOBER MY FRIEND:cheer2:
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!
:hug:
Thank you:hug:
Anytime, my friend. Anytime. :hug:
So glad to hear she's still got her spunk! :goodvibes
Thank you:hug:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So, despite everything going on life does NOT come to a stop does it.:confused3
Last night we tagged and organized everything for the garage sale, which is scheduled for Saturday.
Tonight is scouts. Jim is working on one of their requirements for their wolf patch and I have to start collecting money for several of the trips we have coming up.
Saturday is the garage sale and then Sunday is Soccer.
Monday we are off for Columbus Day, but Jimmy has a 10am dentist appointment and then we promised him that if he did a good job at the dentist we would go get his Halloween Costume. He is going to be Darth Vader:darth:
SOmeone told me that I should I cancel the garage sale and stop doing all the other stuff becasue of my mom. I think that I need to try and keep things as normal as possible, not only for me...but, most importantly for Jimmy. What are your thoughts? Am I wrong to keep just going along? The way some people are making me feel, it's like they think I don't care about my mom:sad1:
Oh well, enough of that...Deep Breath! Hope you all have a great weekend.
Chat later:hug:
