Well, I can't in good concsience ever recommend the area around BG. The UNiversity is there, too, so there must be some decent hotels, but it's just kind of icky around there. We would be going to Busch Gardens.. but I might like a day of water play.
If you go through Expedia, look for hotels listed as near USF - I suspect those would be better than anything real close to BG.Downtown is a good central location; 15 minutes from BG, 30 from the beaches. The only hotel downtown I'm personally familiar with is teh Marriott Waterside, which was nice. I've also heard good things about the Wyndham.
Aquarium is great, also Lowry Park Zoo. On teh Pinellas side, we have 30+ miles of beaches, art museums, and a living history muesum (Heritage Village). If you haven't yet, spend some time here: www.floridasbeach.com LOADS of info. for Pinellas hotels, attractions. Not sure what else you guys have other than the aquarium.
That's very enticing! My cruise starts the 14th if you need to come with us.![]()

Other months have them of course but it's all chance

Sheesh!

) he can pick up the boys for their lesson, instead of me schlepping back this way and BACK to the gym for the third time today. We'll see.
Flying from our local puddle jump airport. And even with all the taxes and what not... We come in around 100.00 per person round trip.
I hate picking a hotel. Outside of Disney... it's like a crap shoot.
