Well, as it turns out, rumors of my death have been overstated....LOL.

The internet was down all day yesterday. Upon calling Comcast we were told that it could be 3 days before they repaired it and got it working again. So, imagine my surprise when Bob fixed it for me at midnight last night!!!

He called them from work and they figured it out, apparently....

Thanks to Dawn for passing the message though! And yes, Dr. Seigle says that I'm good for now! The pressure was 17, which is GOOD!!!

I am off to the gym after I drop Gus off at school. I'll be home by 11 though. See you peeps then!

(Oh, I did read it all so I'm caught up, but no time to quote now! Have a great day everyone! And Good luck at your game CE!!!)

OK, I'm really leaving now. Have a good one!

hi everyone! i've been working past 2 days, so didn't have time to check in . hope all is well with everyone.

well, i know we just moved , but i'm really thinking about moving to fl in 2 yrs. we could pay off our debt and be debt free. woo whooo! my husband' s job is great, but we don't like it here at all. don't say anything about it on fb though. my mom is on there and i don't want to hurt her feelings. so, i'm going to concentrate on paying off bills. i've already picked angela's brain (thank you angela). we're thinking of either orlando or tampa. i've researched and oralndo area has some great schools north in seminole county. houses are reasonable. now , i have to get some input from v! i know you all probably think i'm crazy , but i've dreamed of florida for the last 10yrs. if i can get all my bills paid we will be in a good place financially to do it. you only live once so i figure we should just go for it.

i'm still planning my disney trip. my inlaws are going with us, so my dining plans have changed a bit.

mil really wants to do wcc and 50's prime time. so , i'm thinking of skipping kona. the following are must do's

ohana
teppan edo
boma
akershus
donald breakfast

they want to do coral reef, but i really didn't like that one at all. so they may skip akershus. i have plenty of time for things to change though.

still looking for airfare. i'm waiting till southwest schedule comes out for sept. they seem to have some great deals right now.

well, better get to bed.

later!

I knew I shouldn't have said anything about enjoying a nice, normal week. :sad2: Last night Kirt came home and told me all the people who are losing their jobs, including his old boss, his 2 daughters, and his SIL are all being fired tomorrow. Kirt will have to work there starting Friday. So, lots of commuting. That's not that big of a deal, but I'm really pissed that his company won't give him a letter stating they will buy our house. Without that, our builder won't start on our house.
He wants us to list our house ASAP, sell it for less than it's worth on the market, then he'll pay us the difference. I don't know if I can trust him to do that, so I'm nervous. Also- I'm so mad that I may lose my lot and we'll have to find a place to live while they build. I'm too stressed and mad to even go into more detail. :headache:  :sad2:

Needless to say, I'm packing like a mad woman today. We're hoping to have the house ready by Monday to list. Kirt's going to take off tomorrow so he can get stuff done too.

Morning! Check this out... so Leo's friend's mother called me yesterday (remember, I sent her a note about Leo wanting to get together with J?) and I'm not sure what to make of it. Let me put it this way: if it were a guy calling, I'd have said to myself "Okay, he's 'just not that into me'" and have been done with it, lol! She started off telling me that they're a very busy family so it's really hard to make any plans. Then went on to say that J has sports Sat. mornings, but maybe they'd be able to stick around the park and play after that - I should give them a call some Sat. afternoon and we'll see, because (again) they don't make plans in advance.

:confused3

I feel like I got the brush-off! :rotfl: She was nice, don't get me wrong, but clearly not eager to go out of her way to make anything happen, y'know? And in MY family, we have to plan. Doesn't have to be days in advance, but I'm not going to hang around all day on the few Saturdays I get with Leo, wondering of J might be available that day.

When did it all get so complicated??? Making friends and doing things with them just seemed so much easier when I was a kid. :guilty:

Latest work memo...they are asking for voluntary terminations and furloughs. Uh, yeah...let me get right up and volunteer for that:rolleyes:
 :sad2: I guess they're sort of doing the same here, though not so forwardly. There have been quite a few people offering to take early retirement, or switch to part-time, though.

My day went fairly well. We won our match!
Yay! :yay:

And Yay for Jo, too! :thumbsup2

Well I had an exciting evening !!!!!:sad1: Spent it at the ER with Steph :scared1: who horsing around with Kyle fell on or off the table (not sure which) and hurt her knee !
Ugh. :headache: Glad to hear it's not broken.

I've got stomach issues.
Oh no! Feel better soon!

Hi and :grouphug: to all I missed - I thought I went to where I'd last left off, but I'm not so sure.

So what are you doing WITH the stuff you pack ??

I would recommend that Kirt's Boss sign a letter stating the "compensation" and have it notarized.. but that could bite you all in the butt if he reneged and you took him to small claims court... could cost the job all together.

Is this the "Home office" ?? Any body higher up the food chain or is this it ??
I was thinking yesterday... I wish I couls come help you out.. Fly me Down??:rolleyes1 and back of course :teeth:

we're thinking of either orlando or tampa. i've researched and oralndo area has some great schools north in seminole county. houses are reasonable. now , i have to get some input from v! i know you all probably think i'm crazy , but i've dreamed of florida for the last 10yrs.
I don't think you're crazy at all! But I do caution you with this: take your time to decide, look into all the location options (FL is incredibly diverse), and plan some visits during various times of year.

That said... as others here can attest, I gladly and happily promote where I live because I mostly love it! I'm not in Tampa - I'm on the other side of the Bay, in Pinellas County, which includes Clearwater and St. Petersburg. What I like:

~ Good people, much like back home in Buff. Very down to earth, not stuffy or flashy.

~ Affordable cost of living; property taxes are lower than many areas of the US. Lots of free stuff to do - we really USE our local parks, beaches, etc.

~ 30+ miles of the world's best beaches, 5 miles from my doorstep. 'Nuff said. ;)

~ Some seasonality; we get chilly in winter and have some leaf color change, but no snow. Fall and spring are perfect.

~ Surprisingly good schools available. FL has moved up to 10th in the nation for graduation rates.

What I don't especially like:

~ Traffic. The entire Tampa Bay area has too many people on the roads compared to what the roads are built to handle. We're working on it, but it'll stay congested for years to come.

~ Snowbirds. Living so close to the beaches, I'm surrounded by them in winter. Not the tourists who stay for a week, but the winter folks. They're not always very nice, they don't like kids and they hog up the roads and stores. But... they're only here a few months.

~ Summers. To be honest, if I didn't have to dress appropriately for business, this wouldn't get to me, but wearing pantyhose and wool suits in Aug. just sucks. Weekends are fine - we get errands done early and spend the days in the pool or Gulf! Hurricanes are part of life and can be very stressful.

~ Political climate - gov't. spending. This is starting to change, but FL has long been controlled by retirees who already paid taxes for schools, roads, etc. and they don't want to pay for jack down here. It's very hard to fund things with no money.

Don't hesitate to PM or FB message me with detailed questions - I'm happy to help!

Almost sounds like Leo's friends Mom maybe just wanted to pawn him off on you for an hour or two so she could do something... no time for seperate meetings to "meet and greet" am I reading you right V ??You were trying to meet her FIRST.. THEN ARRANGE a Play Date ??

Things were definately easier 30+ years ago . We are too busy.. not sure how this happened with all our "conveniences". We can not even help a neighbor like we used to. (Self included here:guilty: )
That's one of the reasons I did not put Sarabeth in all these classes when she was still in diapers ( so to speak) And when she was old enought o begin asking.. I still put the stops on things. Sometimes her swim lessons drive me crazy. And if she makes the swim team this year I will make another sacrifice... but so will she.. as far as having to work a little harder to get her School work done first.

What I don't especially like:

~!

That little section right there wold be the Killer for me:lmao: At least Orlando is inland and where you run to in those Hurricanes. ;)

Other than Hurricanes.. From what I have seen... I'd choose your side of Florida V. Bigger question for Rachel would be.. are ya a "Gamblin' Woman"

Facebook pimp here...
I posted a little video ( 30 seconds long) on my profile that our church Drama group did that is funny... especially if you work for a boss who is a "Jerk". There is 2 others that I'd like to find to put up but this one is my personal favorite.Pop by and take a look.

No, I was actually trying to get the boys together. I'm fine with them meeting at the park, but I can't jsut call that afternoon and see - if we have an afternoon free, it's usually filled by that day!

At least Orlando is inland and where you run to in those Hurricanes. ;)
Not exactly. Nowhere in FL is far enough inland to escape a big one - and those are the ones to worry about. What inland areas escape is the storm surge, which pummels the coast. But you'll still get the wind, rain and tornadic activity inland. Here's how I sum up the difference:

Coast = house could be destroyed by storm surge.
Inland = house could be destroyed by wind/tornado.

In either case insurance may or may not bail you out. In either case, life without power and/or water will SUCK and could last for months.

Orlando is my first stop in my evacuation plan; I'd only go there for a small storm. Anything bigger than a 3 and I'm on my way to Nebraska! :rotfl:

I think I meant to say something along those lines.. but this darn phone keeps ringing:headache: so I stopped my post short:rotfl: and did not read it through well at all.

Scott is back but still sleeping so unless I have an emergency I am handling the calls. And they have been a few this morning.

Hurricane season...( no.. not the Miami Hurricanes  Z) makes Florida all of florida a Nervous place to live...
and the rest of the year is 'Gator( no ... not the "Big F" V  )and Snake season :lmao:

Drat... Phone again.. back later
