Team Focker Watch Chat - the 10th anniversary thread!

We have the car all packed and will start out at 5:30 am. I want us to be on the 7:30 train. I plan to be at Navy Pier before it opens. Hmmmmm...I wonder if there will be a rope drop or mad dash for Barney.
The kids are going to a Barney sing-a-long and then get autographs with him and Angelina Ballerina. I am heading to the Flower Show. Nana is also going to take Bug to the Children's Museum and lunch at McDonald's. The one in NP sounds neat. We are then meeting up for dinner at Buba Gumps. We seem to always end up eating here when at NP.
Sunday we are sleeping in and then going to lunch at a plans called Nan's. It is supposed to have really good sushi. I love sushi and since it also has Chinese, Bug will have no problem finding something he likes. I wanted to go to a Dim Sum place but didn't find one. I am sure there are some I just didn't find them.

Hi Janet! Hope you can at least have a relaxing weekend. I'm guessing you still have more to do next week.

Still tons to do

Up way too early for a Saturday, but we'll miss "rope drop" regardless. This is not one of the closer places, but they open at 8:30 on weekends, and that just wasn't happening. I hope we'll get there by 9:15 and be on the slopes soon after. Even though we don't rent anymore, it still takes a while to get all the gear up to the building and on our bodies.

Well some bad news.....Yani and I have decided to cancel our trip.
Yani just enrolled in school and it was more than she expected to pay and in an effort to not spend too much money (what with the economy and such) we decided it was best to just cancel Disney and just go out with friends.

Just start planning for Fockerfest 2010!

Went out shopping today and dropped $350! I got 8 shirts, a dress, 3 bras and Clinique moisturizing lotion. I guess that is not too bad but now I am having buyers remorse. Why did I have to grow up and start caring about being responsible with my money?

I agree with CE at least it won't disappear like food, you know we want photos of the shirt and dress

I'm a happy girl. Kirt's day was hectic, but the builders all were really happy about Kirt taking over and commended his boss on making that choice. I'm so proud of him. He's so amazing.

Well, last night I went out to the local dive bar, The Catalina, with some friends (my wild librarian friends!) and my friend Peggy for fish fry and drinks. It was fun and smokey (blech!) but we had a good time. We bailed out of the Catalina about 10pm and went down the street to Oscars. Thats a small neighborhood bar with music. We left about 11:00 and went home. I enjoyed myself but now I'm slightly hoarse from the smoke and yelling over the music.

This morning I made pancakes and bacon for my boys and SD's friend who spent the night. Then we went to music lessons. Now I plan on getting the boys to clean their SCARY rooms. I have to help Gus as he gets distracted and starts PLAYING with the things I want sorted! Argh.

Tonight we plan on having a relaxing night at home. It's pouring buckets outside so no chance of outdoor activities anyway....

OMG! I got the bill from Evan's ER visit!! HOLY SHIZZLE!!! It's almost as much as his delivery! Thank GOD for insurance!

Same here. Gabe's got a friend over, and I'm doing :laundry:. Jenny is picking up DD11 from a babysitting class. When did she get old enough to babysit?

Hi everyone!

It's been quite a while. Where should I start? I guess I should start by being thankful for a busy February at work. I was very busy and quite productive, which meant less free time but hopefully a little extra money to set aside for an emergency, like say our Disney trip in July.

The bad news is that Thursday night I got a call scaling back the project I've been working on by about 1/2 to 2/3 of its original size. This was one of the reasons I had the time to take yesterday drafternoon off to hit the happy hour with a few friends from synagogue. The good news is that I'll have some more free time to spend with Jenny and the kids, and to pop in here a little more frequently than of late.

I've still got the unenviable task of letting the guy we were going to bring in part-time to help with the project that it's been canceled. He was on his honeymoon last week and was going to come in this coming week to start. I'm still trying to come up with a way to help him out, but I'm not going to have billable work for him to do.

So, I'm currently at home with my younger two. They are happily occupying themselves in separate rooms. It's been a pretty uneventful day overall. I did the grocery shopping this morning, while Jenny hit the dishes and started the laundry. I'm continuing with the latter while Jenny is off picking up our eldest at her babysitting class.

Once they get home, the plan is to help Jenny get her resume posted with several of the local counties for high school or middle school math teacher positions. For those of you that don't already know, her current school told her that given the projected enrollment for next year that they are scaling back to a single full time math teacher. So, she's in job search mode at the moment.

Sounds like Jenny just got back. I'll probably pop in again later. Jenny and a friend are going out for coffee this evening, so once I put DS6 to bed and the girls start playing/watching TV in the basement, I should have some more time this evening. Talk to you then.

Yep it's time for the curse words separator! It's been a long, tired and now annoying weekend. I need to vent badly....

Thurs- we went to the movie. Got home late. Thats fine.

Fri- woke up around 11 ish after going to bed at 5am partly because KC's uncle is staying over. He is a masseuse and had a client in the city so he left around noon and had plans to come back. He comes back around 3pm. KC then goes off to see Avenue Q in the city. I felt kinda weird but we had a fine night of chatting and watching old wrestling tapes. We don't get to bed until 3am.

Sat- Uncle is still here. he has another client and that why he stayed another night. KC is worki8ng from home, he is up at 9am to work. After about an hour his uncle is up again. so we get up too, reluctantly. We order breakfast. Then he is getting ready to go to his client and doesn't take his stuff with him.

I thought he was going to the client and going home to NJ. NOPE. so then KC said they were going to go out for dim sum but he brings back food to cook for us. I tell KC he needs to talk him into going out so he can go home after. doesn't work.

FINALLY we come up with visiting KC's parents. He is close to them so we think he will sleep there. NOPE. he leaves his stuff and doesn't take the hint of "but i think they are closer to the city..." So going there is for nothing because KC can't stay long because he works at 9am again tomorrow.

I decided after getting ready and walking with them to the train that I don't wanna go 2 hours on the train to stay for 2 minutes and leave again, so I came home.

But KC and Uncle are coming back here to friggin sleep.

I am SOOOOOO annoyed.

I like the guy, i do, but we live in a studio apartment and it's not big enough for the 2 of us! I wanna walk around without my bra in the house! I also don't wanna have to keep cleaning up after people being in my kitchen.

PS I have to do the dishes I asked KC to do today that he never did and laundry needs to be done, badly.

I can't get mad in front of him because I don't wanna make him feel bad, but KC is gonna hear it after he leaves. IF he leaves tomorrow. KC works all day, I bet he will try and stay till after that so we can do something.

So, skiing was fun, but also a hard day. D packed the car, and though it's not entirely his fault (it wouldn't have been hard for me to check) he forgot my ski boots. I have been spoiled this year - mine are as comfy as ski boots can be. I have really hugely long feet, but narrow, and mine fit perfectly.

So, I had to rent boots, and they only rent men's sizes, going down a size for women, and they sucked.

It was a GORGEOUS day, but that meant the snow was really slushy and hard to turn in - and with the rental boots that could NOT get tight enough, it was just a lot of work. I am sore all over. I fell more today than the whole year, and one of them was bad enough that I lost my helmet and tweaked my neck.

Woody was so tired after the night skiing last night, he was kind of a bear.

But then, it was 50, it was sunny, life is good. So...

I hope for a hugely lazy day tomorrow!

A few girls were selling them outside our Walmart this afternoon and I almost bought a few boxes after I was going to be done shopping. But the kids were acting up in the store so I just left everything in the middle of the aisle and left. No getting cookies for me. LOL

For the record, I was JOKING about making rope drop for summer camp registration this morning... but it was true! I got there 5 minutes after they opened at 8am and was number 46. Waited 2 hours in line, but got Leo into the camps we wanted. Oy!

Worked out, showered, had lunch and am now waiting on Gramma to get ready so we can go play mini-golf. TTYL!
