Who is leaving after me on Wed. (7:00 a.m. EST)? Because if I'm not coming to FL, I want to let someone know. Of course, I do have cell numbers and so forth. But still.

CE, so sorry to hear about your grampa. We're leaving Friday (well, maybe "we", Bob's still in pain)
Let me know if I can do anything!

MEL:banana:

CE-Sorry to here about Gramps. You are in my prayers.
Mel-Is Bob atleast feeling a little better?

Good Morning Fockers. Still lots of stuff to do. Doing laundry and waiting for our friend to come over to help Jim move the Fishtank. Then we have to run to Lowes and pick out our ceiling fans and other things so they are ready for the contractor. Then come home...finish laundry and pack!

Morning Fockers!!!

Well it's official the Miamians are in a complete state of panic. The gas lines are ridiculous....:headache: I on the other hand actually NEED gas.

CE:

I wonder if Jo is aware that there's a lot of rain headed her way.....

I wonder if Jo is aware that there's a lot of rain headed her way.....

I would bet she has watched the weather at night and heard the buzz in the parks and around the resort. Bummer for all of the fest goers!

CE- I sam very sorry to hear about your grandpa. It is terribly hard to be loosing someone you love so much.

Mel- I hope you DH gets better soon. What a pain!

Kristel- Prayers for you and your DH. I hope that this form of chemo works wonders.. as painlessly as possible.
....................................................................................

I have been shopping, shopping and more shopping... so I have been MIA for a few days. I was ready along with you all tho...just right before I fell asleep. I can't believe school starts for us in 2 weeks. :scared: Next week I am going to be swamped with back to school orientations for both of my children! Tink's preschool has 4 orientation nights and I need to go to most of them to speak about the Parent Council, which I am Chair of. Next week also marks the Great Minnesota State Fair! :yay: I really love our State Fair... Dirt, animals and greasy food.

Today my DH is on a 23 mile run for training for the marathon. SO I am single parenting it. My ds has a Boy Scout orientation picnic at a park on the lake. I am a bit nervous to go there by myself with TINK. She tends to run away a lot STILL! :headache: With the water so near, I'm going to need to be on her at all times! Afterwards my ds is going to have sleepover here with a friend of his. I haven't thought of something fun to do with them yet...?

So sorry to hear this CE.

Thank you, Lessa.

Thanks, Jen. As I said, he's been through a lot and in some ways I think we'd all be OK with it being "his time" - I just wish it could have come up last week, you know? (and that's where I feel I'm being selfish. It's not like the timing can be helped.) I'd still be sad, but not trying to juggle the vacation issue. I am glad I was just there, though.

Good luck with Tink. :goodvibes We've not done sleepovers yet, but I would think a movie and popcorn is never a bad choice. :thumbsup2

Good Morning everyone!

Looks like Fay's gonna crash our party, eh? :headache: Oh well, I guess we'll be wet Fockers eating weenie salad! :lmao:

Z - take care, hope it doesn't hit you too bad.

I am worried about V, looks like her area is on Hurricane watch. Not gud.

From what I can tell Tuesday looks bad - by Wed AM it should be in northern FL, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed our flight that is scheduled to land Wed AM will be ok.

CE- How's your Grandfather doing?

I think he's doing OK, as far as it goes. I haven't called yet today - it is my grandma's birthday, so I certainly will - but from what Mom said, the surgery is really risky due to the lung/respiratory issues, but if he doesn't do it, he'd bleed out or have to have really a lot of blood transfusions, ongoing. So, it's really more Tuesday that I'm concerned about, rather than the issue itself, if that makes any sense.

Hey, so I think if it's my grandma's birthday, then it's G-luv's, too! I remember commenting on that before, so...

Happy Birthday, Jen!!!
party: :bday:

CE - Please call if you need anything, I'm here through Wednesday night.

V - please check in or at least I hope you are getting your sharpies ready;)

Z - stay safe and please continue to check in with us

Where's Kat - she's flying tomorrow. You have my # so please check in.

For all the Fockers flying Tuesday and Wednesday:hug:

I'm due to land 10 am Thursday, hoping the planes are positioned right. I am so happy I am on Continental as with their size they can recover quickly from storm disruptions.

My lower back feels good and the righ shoulder blade is feeling much better, will be taking the muscle relaxers one more night, at least.

2 MORE WORK DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::yes:: That's my hope, too! What time do you land? I'm in at 10:00. :goodvibes
9:30!! I hope I see you at MCO - that would be funny! :goodvibes

I have no words...
s_radd_016.gif

You did not hand her a sharpie... did you
scared.gif
Sure did!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Am I the only one who finds this hilarious and completely "V" ??!! Because you know, no emergency kit is complete without Color-care conditioner. :lmao:
Dude, after Hurricane Hugo, when we had no power but did get water back, I heated untold numbers of pots of water on a camp stove, just to take a bath! Clean hair makes all teh difference in an emergnecy. ::yes::

Stupid storms..don't they know I'm trying to fly outta here come monday morning!? Jeez.
I'm thinking you should be fine Mon. AM. :thumbsup2

So do you have sharpies on your hurricane preparedness list?
::yes:: But mostly for labeling my house with insurance info. if I have to leave.
Nope, I find that pretty funny, but not the least bit surprising, I mean who else has their hair as a character in their trip reports.;)

Cancer sucks. :headache:
Oh hunny - I'm sooo sorry! My thoughts are iwht you.

Well it's official the Miamians are in a complete state of panic. The gas lines are ridiculous....:headache: I on the other hand actually NEED gas.
:rotfl2: Z, that was me yesterday - wiaitng 10 minutes while teh guy in front of me gassed up his truck... gassed up his boat... and gassed up 3 cans. :headache:

Oh, and as of 10am this morning, Publix was out of water.

Looks like Fay's gonna crash our party, eh? :headache: Oh well, I guess we'll be wet Fockers eating weenie salad! :lmao:
Neh, if she stays on track, she'll be GONE by then and should pull a bunch of moisture with her. :thumbsup2
I am worried about V, looks like her area is on Hurricane watch. Not gud.
Not quite yet, but darned close. We'll be next, probably in teh next advisory at 2pm. :sad2:

The only thing I'd guess is possible delays while flights that couldn't leave take off first.

On the subject of panic attacks... I'm reminded now why i keep a Rx of Xanax around... Hurricnae Stres. I'm having heart palpitations and can't get a deep breath, and am shaking all over. Just took a half-dose and starting to feel better. Oy.

Busy day here - need to finish as much school work as possible, in case we wind up without power. Clean, prep bottles for water, do laundry... oh and pack trip stuff.

Oh, no. I am so sorry. Good luck with your work today. :goodvibes

Just checking in to see how the storm is effecting everyone. I have never been through hurricane and do not plan on doing so any time soon. We have tornadoes here but I have missed all of them too.

Mel- How's Bob feeling today? :confused3

Mel-Is Bob atleast feeling a little better?

Thanks, Mel. I hope Bob is feeling better soon.

Thanks everyone. Bob is not better yet. He's still hurting and um...swollen. He's probably going to die of embarrassment.....
But, he's typing his update!!!!

God, V. You so have my sympathy. Glad you are feeling a little better. I'd need Xanax too if I lived in a Hurricane area.
Deep cleansing breaths....

CE: I'm thinking of you! Bob's grandmom is having the EXACT same issue! She's gotten the ok from the heart dr to have the surgery but she thinks she wants to do the transfusions. She's worried about the recovery... I will keep you in my prayers for Tuesday!

------------

I am rolling right along with my list for FF. :thumbsup2 Getting a pedi and hair done on Tuesday. Tomorrow is SD's Dr. appt. And I will clean, cook and prepare on Wed. No plans on Thurs. so that I can handle any last minute stuff.

Hope Bob is better by then. He's not doing great, but he's in good spirits and he assures me he'll rent a scooter if he can't walk long distances! He said he'll be embarrassed to "pretend to be handicapped" but I told him it's hardly PRETENDING!!!! :rotfl2: And besides everyone there will know WHY he's using...
Oh, Poor Bob!! :rotfl2: :rotfl::rotfl2:

Tomorrow night is the concert and it looks as if I'll be sheparding my two sons through a throng of heavy metal headbangers ALL ALONE. :scared1: Poor Bob. He loves Judas Priest and the tix cost $95 a piece!!! Hoping for a miracle....

Wow, yeah, that sounds about right. I think they just decided that since he's so fragile and busy with the other stuff that they couldn't all (mom, grandma, grandpa) deal with having to do ongoing transusions. Even the possible nursing home (where they could only stay for 90 days) is 45 minutes from his doctors, so someone would still have to drive and such... :sad2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have been hemming and hawing, but it looks like we'll go to the nearby (5 minutes away) lake beach with our inflatable raft. It's a nice place with ice cream and stuff, shade, and a nice shallow swimming area, so the water might even be warm. :thumbsup2
